Waddinxveen

Noord-Waddinxveen is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It covered the northern half of the village Waddinxveen. The municipality existed between 1817 and 1870, when it merged with Zuid-Waddinxveen.

Boskoop (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbɔskoːp] (listen)) is a town in the province of South Holland. It was a separate municipality until it merged into Alphen aan den Rijn in 2014. The town had a population of 15,050 in 2012 and covers an area of 7.29 km2 (2.81 sq mi) of which 1.39 km2 (0.54 sq mi) is water. It's the world's biggest joined floriculture area. Boskoop is famous for its nurseries, particularly woody plant and perennial nurseries, of which some 774 are situated on long stretches of land, divided by narrow canals. Before World War II almost all transport was conducted using narrow boats. A few exceptionally high footbridges crossing some of the broader (main) canals remain from these days. Between the World Wars the transition was made from fruit culture to decorative garden plants and trees. As a source of technical knowledge about the art of growing decorative plants, Boskoop remains world-renowned and unique. The name "Boskoop" has been given to an apple cultivar (Belle de Boskoop) which is widely distributed in the Low Countries, to a grape variety (Boskoop Glory) and also to a variety of Calluna (Boskoop) and Weigela (Boskoop Glory) and blackcurrant ("Boskoop Giant").

Boskoop Snijdelwijk railway station is a railway station in Boskoop, South Holland, Netherlands that opened on 10 December 2017. It is located on the Gouda–Alphen aan den Rijn railway, which connects Gouda and Alphen aan den Rijn, between Boskoop and Waddinxveen Noord stations.

Randenburg is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the former municipality of Reeuwijk, and lies about 6 km northwest of Gouda. The statistical area "Randenburg", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 180.

Waddinxveen Triangel railway station is a railway station in Waddinxveen, South Holland, Netherlands that opened on 12 February 2018. It is situated on the Gouda–Alphen aan den Rijn railway, which connects Gouda and Alphen aan den Rijn, 1,5 kilometre south of Waddinxveen railway station. Trains running on the line are R-net Stadler FLIRTs.

The Boskoop railway station is a railway station in Boskoop, Netherlands, located on the RijnGouweLijn between Gouda and Alphen aan den Rijn. The railway station was opened on 7 October 1934 to transport the products of the local horticultural nurseries.

Schielands Hoge Zeedijk, formerly called Hoogendijk ("high dike") is a Dutch dike in the province of South Holland that stretches from the Schie at Schiedam to the Gouwe near Gouda. Constructed in the 13th century, the dike continues to protect an area inhabited by 3 million people from flooding by the North Sea.

Reeuwijk-Dorp is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is part of what used to be the municipality of Reeuwijk. It lies about 5 km north of Gouda. "Dorp" is Dutch for village, the name distinguishes from Reeuwijk-Brug which is situated 3 km to the east. Reeuwijk-Drop is a stretched out peat excavation village from the Middle Ages. The Catholic St Paul and Peter Church is a Gothic Revival church built between 1889 and 1890. It is characterised by its short nave.Reeuwijk-Dorp was originally the main village, however the Reeuwijk-Brug was more strategically located and became the seat of the municipality from the mid-19th century onwards. In 2011, the municipality was merged into Bodegraven-Reeuwijk.

Broek was a municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland, located west and north of Gouda. A longer name of the municipality, Broek, Bloemendaal, Broekhuizen, Thuil en het Weegje names the polders that are part of the municipality. Broek was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1870, when it became part of Waddinxveen. The polder "Broek" is now part of the municipality of Gouda, as is part of Bloemendaal. Around 1850, the municipality had a population of more than 1300, on an area of 17.55 km².,

Esveld Aceretum is (in the number of species and cultivars under cultivation at the site) the largest collection of maples in the world. The aceretum is part of PlantenTuin Esveld, a family-owned commercial nursery in Boskoop, Netherlands, that was founded in 1865. The term "aceretum" describes an arboretum devoted to maple trees and shrubs, i.e. plants belonging to the genus Acer. The aceretum was founded in the early 1970s, anchored by a giant specimen of Acer shirasawanum that was already about one century old. The aceretum now holds over 600 varieties of maples and is the holder of the Dutch Plant Collections of Acer. PlantenTuin Esveld is the holder of the national collections of several other Genus of plants as well.
