Remuera

Remuera Library is a local branch of Auckland Libraries, serving the suburb of Remuera. It is housed in a historic building, which is considered to be a landmark in the area.

King's School is a primary school for boys from the Early Learning Centre (4-years-old) to Year 8 (13-years-old). It is situated in Auckland, New Zealand, and it also has strong links to the Anglican church; the Anglican Bishop of Auckland and the Dean of Auckland are permanent members of the school's Board Of Governors. The school sits on the former site of King's College and was established there on 6 June 1922 when the College moved to its current site in the South Auckland region of Otahuhu. Boys at King's School are offered a variety of curriculum activities. These include numeracy, literacy, Christian education, physical education, science, technology, art, music, drama, band and French.

Remuera Intermediate School (R.I) is a school catering for 11 to 13 year olds in Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand. It was founded in 1954. The current principal of the school is Kyle Brewerton. The school's current student count consists of 867 students, however the roll number varies between 850 and 1000 each year.

Auckland Hebrew Congregation is a Modern Orthodox synagogue in Remuera, a suburb of Auckland. The congregation previously occupied University House (Princes Street Synagogue) from 1885, before relocating to a larger building on Greys Avenue in 1968. The congregation moved again in 2022, having purchased the campus of Saint Kentigern Girls' School in Remuera. The synagogue serves around 500 local families.

Corran School was a small independent girls' school catering for students from ages 5 to 18 located in Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand. This school was established in 1947 by Mrs Constance Duthie. It closed at the end of 2009, and Saint Kentigern School for Girls was established at the site of the former school.

Ellerslie Racecourse railway station was a station on the first railway line in Auckland, New Zealand. The line ran between central Auckland and the suburb (and port) of Onehunga. It is called the Onehunga Line today, and is one of the four lines of the Auckland railway network. The platform provided access to the Ellerslie Racecourse. The racecourse was 4 miles (6.4 km) from the central station, and many race goers travelled by train, though as late as 1910 the journey was sometimes in open coal trucks and goods wagons because not enough passenger carriages were available.The station or platform opened in January 1874. There was a suggestion in January 1878 that it should move to Greenlane, but the Jockey Club did not agree. It was closed in September 1971. The surfaces of the two side platforms were removed long ago and they are now grassed over, but the concrete abutments facing the tracks are still extant.

Ellerslie Racecourse is the main racecourse in Auckland, New Zealand, for thoroughbred racehorses. It is an undulating, grass circuit in the suburb of Ellerslie, with a circumference of just under 1,900 metres. Racing is conducted in a clockwise (right-handed) direction.

The Auckland meteorite, also known as the Ellerslie meteorite, landed in Ellerslie, a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand, on 12 June 2004. It crashed through the roof of a house and landed in the living room. As the ninth meteorite to ever be discovered in New Zealand, it is the only one to have ever hit a house in the country. It is owned by the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

Greenlane is a central isthmus suburb in Auckland, New Zealand. It is bounded by Epsom to the west, Newmarket to the north, Remuera to the east and One Tree Hill to the south. The Greenlane shops are situated at the intersection of Great South Road and Green Lane West. On the northern side of Green Lane West are located the Alexandra Park Raceway, the Auckland Showgrounds and the Campbell Park Tennis Club; on the southern side is Greenlane Hospital, Cornwall Park, Cornwall Cricket Club, and Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill and its park. Within Auckland, the suburb is best-known for Cornwall Park, the Greenlane Clinical Centre, which is a large hospital complex, the Auckland Showgrounds, car yards and the Alexandra Park racecourse. The suburb itself is one word (Greenlane), whereas the thoroughfare is two (Green Lane).

Ōhinerau / Mount Hobson (also known as Ōhinerangi and Remuwera) is a 143 m high volcanic cone and Tūpuna Maunga (ancestral mountain) in the Auckland volcanic field in Auckland, New Zealand.

St Ann's is a historic English country cottage in Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand. Built in the early 20th century for a wealthy owner, St Ann's was later used by the Auckland Kindergarten Association before being sold back into private ownership. It is registered as a category 2 building with Heritage New Zealand.

Little Rangitoto, officially known as Maungarāhiri / Little Rangitoto, and also as Rangitoto-iti, is a volcano in the Auckland volcanic field in Remuera, New Zealand. The name Maungarāhiri refers to Rāhiri, an ancestor of Ngāpuhi, who journeyed around the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui). In the 1700s and early 1800s, the volcano was the site of Ngāti Whātua-o-Ōrākei seasonal farms.This scoria cone had a peak 75 metres above sea level (30m higher than the surrounding land) before it was mostly quarried away. The quarry site is now Little Rangitoto Reserve, having been partly filled with refuse in the 1950s. Remnants of the southern slopes of the cone lie south of the reserve and underlie houses in Ventnor Road. A lava flow burst forth from the northwestern base of the cone and flowed north down the valley west of Orakei Basin tuff ring and out into what is now Hobson Bay. Part of this flow can be seen among the mangroves adjacent to the Shore Rd bridge across the creek from St Kentigern School carpark. The toe of the lava flow is buried beneath mud and railway embankment near the Hobson Bay marina.
