Brittlebank Park is a ten-acre park located between Lockwood Boulevard (to the east) and the Ashley River (to the west) in Charleston, South Carolina near Gadsden Creek. To the south is a condominium project and to the north is the minor league baseball stadium, the Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park.

Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park is a baseball stadium located in Charleston, South Carolina. The stadium is named after Charleston's longest-serving mayor, Joseph P. Riley Jr., who was instrumental in its construction. The stadium replaced College Park. It was built in 1997 and seats 6,000 people. Nicknamed "The Joe" by locals, Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park is primarily used for baseball and is the home field of the Charleston RiverDogs baseball team of the Carolina League and The Citadel Bulldogs baseball team, whose campus is located nearby.

Gadsden Creek is the last tidal creek on the Charleston peninsula located near Brittlebank Park. Whether or not the present-day Gadsden Creek is the same one as the historic creek bearing the same name or instead a perimeter drainage ditch carved out of a landfill in the 1950s is in dispute. Starting in 1952, the city of Charleston used the 100-acre creek and surrounding wetlands as a landfill which either completely filled the historic Gadsden Creek or diminished the creek to four acres. In 2015, plans by the developers of a nearby high-end housing development, WestEdge, to fill the ecologically-damaged creek created controversy in the city of Charleston. Opponents of filling Gadsden Creek believe that filling the creek disenfranchises the historic African American Gadsden Green (also known as the Back Da Green) community. While proponents of the plan believe that modern-day Gadsden Creek is just a "reiteration" of the waterway with historic ties to the African American community and that filling the creek will cut off the creek's pollutants from leaking into the Ashley River. In 2021, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control approved WestEdge's plan to fill the creek.

Gadsden Green Homes is a housing complex located in the Westside neighborhood in Charleston, South Carolina. The name comes from the neighborhood which had been owned by Christopher Gadsden. The housing project was built in two stages: the eastern half (bounded by Line St. to the north, President St. to the east, Bogard and Allway Sts. to the south, and Flood St. to the west) was constructed in 1942 while the western half (bounded by Line St. to the north, Flood St. to the east, Allway St. to the south, and Hagood Ave. to the west) was finished in 1968.

Johnson Hagood Stadium, is an 11,500-seat football stadium, the home field of The Citadel Bulldogs football team, in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. The stadium is named in honor of Brigadier General Johnson Hagood, CSA, class of 1847, who commanded Confederate forces in Charleston during the Civil War and later served as Comptroller and Governor of South Carolina.

The Daniel Library is the main library of The Citadel, and is located on the college's Charleston, South Carolina campus. The library holds approximately 180,000 volumes in addition to extensive digital collections.

Padgett-Thomas Barracks is the dominant building on the campus of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Constructed from 1920 to 1922 as the first building on The Citadel's new site but demolished and replaced from 2000 to 2004, the barracks serves as the living quarters for up to 560 members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. The eight story tower which distinguishes it from the other four, smaller, barracks on Campus of The Citadel is also styled as a brand mark of the military college.It is located on Jones Avenue, directly across Summerall Field from Summerall Chapel, between Murray Barracks and Law Barracks. Padgett-Thomas Barracks is home to the Second Battalion of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets, composed of E, F, G, and H companies, as well as the Regimental Staff and The Regimental Band and Pipes.The barracks is named for Col. J. G. Padgett, Class of 1892 and a member of the Board of Visitors, and Col. John Pulaski Thomas, Class of 1893 and member of the Board of Visitors for nearly 35 years, including nearly 25 as its chair.

The Citadel Graduate College is the non-residential academic program at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Offering a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in a non-military environment, the college targets residents of the South Carolina Lowcountry and distance learning students. Classes are primarily offered online or at night, using the same faculty and classrooms as the cadet day program, but students at the Graduate College generally do not share classes with members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. Alternatively, students can attend programs at the Lowcountry Graduate Center in North Charleston, South Carolina or through recently established distance learning programs. Established in 1966 as the Evening Undergraduate Program, the school began offering graduate degrees in 1968 under the name College of Graduate and Professional Studies. The program has continued to expand and now offers 19 graduate programs as well as seven undergraduate programs, most of which are degree completion tracks for those with associate degrees from South Carolina's technical colleges. In 2007, The Citadel changed the name of the program to The Citadel Graduate College. In recent years, the Graduate College has launched new programs in engineering and cybersecurity. In January 2017, the school will launch a nursing program, offered first to evening undergraduates (2+2 program for those with an associate degree) before being made available to cadets. Funded by a $4 million anonymous donation, the program is intended to address the need both in the armed services and the Charleston area for qualified nurses.

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, commonly known simply as The Citadel, is a public senior military college in Charleston, South Carolina. Established in 1842, it is one of six senior military colleges in the United States. It has 18 academic departments divided into five schools offering 31 majors and 57 minors. The military program is made up of cadets pursuing bachelor's degrees who live on campus. The non-military programs offer 12 undergraduate degrees, 26 graduate degrees, as well as evening and online programs with seven online graduate degrees, three online undergraduate degrees, and three certificate programs.The South Carolina Corps of Cadets numbers 2,300 and is one of the largest uniformed bodies in the U.S. Approximately 1,350 non-cadet students are enrolled in Citadel Graduate College pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Women comprise approximately 9% of the Corps and 22% of the overall enrollment while racial minorities comprise 15% of the Corps and 23% of the total enrollment. Approximately half of The Citadel's cadet enrollment is from the state of South Carolina; cadets come from 45 states and 23 foreign countries. South Carolina residents receive a discount in tuition, as is common at state-sponsored schools. The Citadel receives 8% of its operating budget from the state. In 2019, the school's ROTC program commissioned 186 officers.The Corps of Cadets combines academics, physical challenges, and military discipline. While only about one-third of graduates each year go into the armed services, all members of the Corps are required to participate in ROTC. The academic program is divided into five schools – Business, Education, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Mathematics. Bachelor's degrees are offered in 38 major programs of study with 55 minors. The Citadel Graduate College offers 26 master's degrees with 41 different concentrations, 25 graduate certificates and two educational specialist courses; a college transfer evening/online program also allows students with college credit to complete their bachelor's degree in 12 subjects. 94% of the faculty hold doctoral degrees and the majority are full-time professors; the ratio of cadets to faculty is 12:1 and the average class size is 20.While all programs make use of The Citadel's campus and professors, only cadets live on campus. (Cadets are required to live on campus while they are in the Corps. There are no on-campus housing options for the other student populations). The veterans program, reinstated in the fall of 2007, allows veterans to attend classes with cadets and complete their degrees. Enlisted members from the Marine Corps and Navy also attend cadet classes as part of a program to commission highly qualified NCOs.The Citadel Bulldogs compete at the NCAA Division I level in 16 sports within the Southern Conference.

Hampton Park Terrace is the name both of a neighborhood and a National Register district located in peninsular Charleston, South Carolina. The neighborhood is bounded on the west by The Citadel, on the north by Hampton Park, on the east by Rutledge Ave., and on the south by Congress St. In addition, the one block of Parkwood Ave. south of Congress St. is considered, by some, to be included. The National Register district, on the other hand, is composed of the same area with two exceptions: (1) the northeasternmost block is excluded and (2) an extra block of President St. is included.

The Inouye Marksmanship Center is a 12,000 square foot shooting range located on the campus of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. It is home to NCAA Division I The Citadel Bulldogs rifle team, as well as the club pistol team, The Citadel's ROTC programs, and the South Carolina National Guard. The range is named for Senator Daniel Inouye, who secured federal funding for the facility in 2002.The facility hosted the 2017 Southern Conference rifle championships, as well as the annual Southeastern Air Rifle Conference championships from 2012–2016, and will host the 2018 NCAA Rifle Championships.

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a public medical school in Charleston, South Carolina. It opened in 1824 as a small private college aimed at training physicians and has since established hospitals and medical facilities across the state. It is one of the oldest continually operating schools of medicine in the United States and the oldest in the Deep South. The school has expanded into a state university with a medical center and six colleges for the education of health professionals, biomedical scientists, and other health care personnel. It also operates as a center for research and has a public hospital.
