Astrodomi observatory is an astronomical observatory located in Tigre, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It has observatory code I37.

The Benavídez rail disaster, which occurred on February 1, 1970, is the worst-ever rail disaster in Argentina and South America, leaving 236 dead and more than 500 injured.

Nordelta is an affluent city in Tigre Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Capital Federal. It consists of a large gated community made up originally of nine neighborhoods, founded in 1999 and known as the first ciudadpueblo ("city-ville" in English) of Argentina; it is close to the towns of General Pacheco and Benavidez. Nordelta has been referred to as "the Miami of the Argentina". When compared to older gated communities in Pilar, Nordelta's natural features (trees, plants, etc.) stand out as too "artificial", because Pilar's trees, for instance, are very large and mature compared to Nordelta's miniature trees. Because of its size and relatively affluent population, Nordelta has been able to develop and maintain a varied array of commercial and services infrastructure, including swimming pools, soccer and tennis fields, a shopping mall, a medical center, a sports club, four private schools, playgrounds, saunas, and more. Over the years, there has been steady development of new neighborhoods as more and more people moved in. Also, it was one of the first places in Argentina to have a Telecom communications network of a totally new generation.The Nordelta project has been criticised for encroaching upon the Paraná wetlands, the habitat for wildlife and, with other processes such as urban sprawl and the extension of farming, contributing to wildfires and reducing the capacity of the land to absorb rainfall. The people of Nordelta created the Nordelta Foundation, in an effort to help improve the quality of life of poor people living in Las Tunas, a shantytown located very close to Nordelta.

The 1972 Eisenhower Trophy took place 18 to 21 October at the Olivos Golf Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the eighth World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 32 four-man teams. The best three scores for each round counted towards the team total. The United States won the Eisenhower Trophy for the third successive time, finishing five strokes ahead of the silver medalists, Australia. South Africa took the bronze medal while Spain finished fourth. Tony Gresham from Australia had the lowest individual score, one-over-par 285, two strokes better than two Americans, Ben Crenshaw and Vinny Giles.

Don Torcuato is a town in the Tigre Partido of the urban agglomeration of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is named after Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear, ex-President of Argentina, as he had his ranch and residency there. Most of the streets are named after his immediate family and his governmental staff. Don Torcuato has two train stations on the Belgrano Norte Line with direct connection to Buenos Aires, and also the nearby Pascual Palazzo highway, part of the Pan-American Highway. It formerly had a general aviation airfield, bearing the same name (Don Torcuato - ICAO:SADD), that was closed in January 2006.

Área de Promoción El Triángulo is a town in Malvinas Argentinas Partido of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is located in the north west of the Greater Buenos Aires urban agglomeration.

Los Polvorines is a district (localidad) in the urban conurbation of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the county seat of Malvinas Argentinas Partido of Buenos Aires Province.

The Tigre Club stands on the banks of the Luján River, in Paseo Victorica, Tigre, near Buenos Aires, Argentina. The club, built next to the Tigre Hotel (demolished in 1940), was financed by Ernesto Tornquist and was designed by the architects Pablo Pater, Luis Dubois and the engineer Emilio Mitre (son of the former President of Argentina, Bartolomé Mitre); it was opened on 13 January 1912. Like the hotel nearby opened in 1890, the Tigre Club soon became an important meeting place for the rich and famous. The elegant and luxurious building has two floors with mezzanines with large windows on almost all sides. The main saloon on the first floor has frescoes by the Spanish artist Julio Vila y Prades (1875-1930), the staircases are of marble and there are Venetian mirrors and French chandeliers. A casino operated there from 1927 until 1933, when it was transferred to Mar del Plata after a law was passed prohibiting the existence of a casino so close to Buenos Aires. The closing of the casino and the international crisis brought about a considerable loss of visitors. After the demolition of the Tigre Hotel in 1940, the club continued to function as a restaurant with live shows but it never recovered its former glory. In 1979 the Tigre Club was declared a National Historic Monument. After extensive restoration it now houses the Tigre Municipal Museum of Fine Art (Museo de Arte Tigre), opened in 2006. The museum houses an extensive collection of Argentine art.

The Reconquista River (Spanish, Río Reconquista) is a small river in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Together with the Riachuelo, it is one of the most contaminated watercourses in the country. The Reconquista is part of the Río de la Plata basin. It originates in Marcos Paz, Buenos Aires Province, and flows across 18 municipalities, emptying into the Luján River. Its drainage basin has an area of 1,670 square kilometres (640 sq mi) and is populated by around 4 million people. The river carries about 33 percent of the total pollution drained by the estuary of the Río de la Plata, taking into account both industrial and domestic waste. There are about 12,000 industries in its basin, 700 of which dump their waste into the watercourse without controls. Studies have found nitrites, nitrates, ester-phenols, PCB, and heavy metals. These pollutants can cause hepatitis, skin reactions, gastrointestinal problems and eye infections.

The Tigre Hotel was an Argentine hotel that stood on the banks of the Luján River, in Paseo Victorica, Tigre, 28 km (17 mi) north of Buenos Aires city. The hotel's peak was during late XIX century and early XX century, when Tigre was one of the places chosen by the upper classes to spend their holidays. The hotel had also the first casino in the country, but a law that forbidden gambling in Argentina promulgated in 1933 caused the building was closed, and finally demolished in 1940.

Tigre (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈtiɣɾe], Tiger) is a city in the Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, situated in the north of Greater Buenos Aires, 28 km (17 mi) north of Buenos Aires city. Tigre lies on the Paraná Delta and is a tourist and weekend destination, reachable by bus and train services, including the scenic Tren de la Costa. It is the main city and administrative centre of the Tigre Partido.
