The Goethe-Schule Buenos Aires belongs to the Goethe School Association, a nonprofit Civil Association that brings together the parents of students. Since it is a German School Abroad (DAS), it is sponsored by the Federal Republic of Germany. It is a recognized cultural exchange school that teaches and promotes the German language. It is located in the town of Boulogne, in the province of Buenos Aires, 20 km north of the center of the City of Buenos Aires and includes three levels: kindergarten, primary school (1st to 6th grade according to the German school system) and secondary school (7th to 12th grade according to the German school system). The school has more than 1500 students in the three levels. A fourth section of the school is the Humboldt Academy, an educational institution dedicated to teaching foreign languages, mainly German, where courses for adults and children are taught outside of the school’s regular classes.

Boulogne Sur Mer is a town in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is in San Isidro Partido and forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban conurbation, 26 km (16,25 mi) north of Buenos Aires. It has a population of 89,046 (2001 INDEC census). The town is named after the city of Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France, where the Argentine general José de San Martín died in 1850.

Campo de Mayo Airport (ICAO: SADO) is a military airport located near San Miguel, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The airport is within a 36 square kilometres (14 sq mi) military reservation surrounded by urban areas in the northwest suburbs of Buenos Aires. Approach and departure will be over densely populated areas. Runway length includes 65 metres (213 ft) paved overruns on both ends. The El Palomar VOR-DME (Ident: PAL) is located 5.5 nautical miles (10 km) south-southeast of the airport. The El Palomar non-directional beacon (Ident: L) is located 4.0 nautical miles (7 km) to the southeast. The Mariano Mareno VOR-DME (Ident: ENO) is located 6.1 nautical miles (11 km) west-southwest of Campo de Mayo.

It was established in 1931 by Hermann Hölters, a German educator, and, therefore, German is taught since kindergarten. It was once recognized as a German school by the West German government.
