Beggarington, also known as Beggerington and Begerington is a hamlet consisting of a few houses about 0.4 miles (0.6 km) north of Hartshead in Kirklees, West Yorkshire. It is situated in a bend of the B6119 road at the junction with the road from Roberttown. Beggerington has traditionally been considered a part of Hartshead. The place name means either "where the berries grow" or is related to beggar.A coal mine was recorded here in the 19th century as "Beggarington Pit, Hartshead".A waste water treatment works named Beggarington is located off Green Lane, a public bridleway.

Kirklees was the site of a 12th-century Cistercian Priory north of Mirfield, in what is now West Yorkshire, in the metropolitan Borough of Calderdale, and is close to the current route of the M62 motorway. The priory no longer exists, although the name was reused in 1974 for the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees.In the 12th century, the Cistercian monks built Kirklees Priory. The former gatehouse can still be seen, though the site is on private land. There is a legend about Robin Hood who was supposed to be the nephew of the prioress, who sheltered him when he was fleeing from the Sheriff of Nottingham, but bled him to death. There is still a "Robin Hood's Grave" on the local Ordnance Survey map.The Jacobean Kirklees Hall was built in the late 16th century.

Whitechapel Church, is an unusual church building located approximately half a mile north of Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, England. It was built in 1820 on a site associated with over nine centuries of worship. It has supported Roman Catholic, Protestant, Puritan, Methodist and Anglican worship during its history. Links with this site of worship have been made to the Romans, the Brontës, the Knights Hospitaller, a grave slab of one of the knights being in the entrance to the church, Celtic influences, and in recent times the graveyard contains war graves from the world wars. Legend also has it that Robin Hood is connected with this site of worship.

The former Providence Place United Reformed Church, also known as Providence Place Congregational Church, is a Victorian church building in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, England, completed in 1859 to Classical designs by Lockwood and Mawson. It is now used as a wedding venue, having previously been used as an Indian restaurant. The building is Grade II* listed.
