The Trenton Channel Power Plant, also known as the Trenton Stacks, was a coal-burning power station located in Trenton, Michigan. Completed in 1924, it is owned by Detroit Edison, a subsidiary of DTE Energy.

Calf Island is an island in the Detroit River, in Michigan. It has a surface elevation of 571 feet (174 m). It is located in the Trenton Channel about 1,000 feet (304 m) west of the southern tip of Grosse Ile and Swan Island, and Hamburg Island is just to the northwest. The 7-acre (2.8 ha) island is administered locally by Grosse Ile Township. Added in 2002, Calf Island was one of the newer additions to the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. Under the refuge, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources identifies more than 29 species of waterfowl and 65 kinds of fish that make their home in and around the waters of Calf Island. The island often serves as a nesting location for a small number of herons. Calf Island is the smallest property added to the refuge, and the island has remained relatively isolated and unused compared to other areas in the region.

Trenton Engine Complex is Stellantis North America automotive factory complex in Trenton, Michigan. It is composed of two plants, North and South. The north factory opened in 1952 while the south plant opened in 2010. Both factories manufacture 3.2 and 3.6 engines.

The Wayne County Bridge is a swing bridge that crosses the Trenton Channel in the Detroit River. Located in Wayne County, Michigan, it connects Grosse Ile Township to mainland Trenton and is one of two bridges connecting the island of Grosse Ile to the mainland — the other being the tolled Grosse Ile Toll Bridge to the north. Locally, it is also known as "The Free Bridge".

Elizabeth Park is a county-owned public park in southeast Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The park is located in the city of Trenton along West Jefferson Avenue and the Detroit River just north of the Wayne County Bridge leading to Grosse Ile. Under private ownership until it was given to the county in 1919, Elizabeth Park is recognized as the first county park established in the state of Michigan.The park is located mostly on an artificial island historically called Slocum's Island. The island is separated from the mainland by a narrow canal. While Elizabeth Park occupies the northern portion of Slocum's Island, the Trenton Channel Power Plant occupies the portion south of the Grosse Ile Parkway.

The South Pointe Drive–Frenchman's Creek Bridge is a bridge located on South Pointe Drive over Frenchman's Creek in Grosse Ile, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Gibraltar Road–Waterway Canal Bridge is a bridge located on Gibraltar Road over the Waterway Canal in Gibraltar, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

The Battle of Maguaga (also known as the Battle of Monguagon or the Battle of the Oakwoods) was a small battle between British troops, Canadian militia and Tecumseh's natives against a larger force of American troops, Ohio Volunteers and Michigan Legion near the Wyandot village of Maguaga which become The Township of Monguagon Township, Michigan in what is now The City of Riverview, Michigan.

Swan Island is an island in the Detroit River. It is in Wayne County, in southeast Michigan. Its coordinates are 42°05′57″N 83°10′27″W, and the United States Geological Survey gave its elevation as 581 ft (177 m) in 1980. A 1982 report from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said that white bass had been spawning at the island since the 1920s.: 22 

The Battle of Brownstown was an early skirmish in the War of 1812. Although the United States military outnumbered the forces of Tecumseh's Confederacy 8 to 1, they lost the battle and suffered substantial losses while Tecumseh's forces were almost untouched. The battle occurred near Brownstown, a Wyandot village south of Fort Detroit on Brownstown creek. Brownstown was also known as "Sindathon's Village". Carlson High School in Gibraltar, Michigan, is near the site of the battle.

Trenton is a city in Wayne County, Michigan, United States. At the 2010 census, the city population was 18,853.A Shawnee village was built in the area by war chief Blue Jacket after the 1795 Treaty of Greenville. The area later became the site of the Battle of Monguagon between Americans and a British-Indian coalition during the War of 1812. The battle is commemorated with a Michigan State Historical Site marker in present-day Elizabeth Park, which was the first county park in Michigan when it was established in 1919. Portions of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge are within the southern portion of Trenton. The area was once part of the now-defunct Monguagon Township. Trenton was incorporated as a village in 1855 and again as a city in 1957. The city is part of the Downriver collection of communities south of Detroit on the west bank of the Detroit River. Trenton is known for its waterfront and growing boating community. Major industries include Stellantis-Chrysler's Trenton Engine Plant, Solutia, and the DTE Energy Trenton Channel Power Plant. Beaumont Hospital – Trenton is located within city limits and has 203 beds. The former McLouth Steel plant is also located in the city. The city operates the 21,000-square-foot (2,000 m2) Trenton Veterans Memorial Library and a historical museum.

Gibraltar is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 4,656 at the 2010 census.Gibraltar is a southern city of Metro Detroit and is about 12 miles (19.3 km) south of the city of Detroit. The city is bordered by the Detroit River to the east, the city of Trenton to the north, and the township of Brownstown to the south and west.
