River Artro

Llyn Cwm Bychan is a lake in north Wales, and is one of the sources of the River Artro which flows south westwards through Llanbedr and onwards to the sea. It is located in the Rhinogydd mountains of Snowdonia.

Rhinog Fawr is a mountain in Snowdonia, North Wales and forms part of the Rhinogydd range. It is the third highest summit of the Rhinogydd, losing out to Y Llethr and Diffwys respectively. Its smaller cousin Rhinog Fach lies to the south, separated by the pass of Bwlch Drws Ardudwy, while its other neighbour, Moel Ysgyfarnogod lies to the north. In common with most of the range, the terrain is characterised by hard sedimentary rock covered with heather, making progress on foot difficult. At 510m, nestled in crags, lies Llyn Du, a small tarn beneath the summit. The ascent is most easily made from the north-east or north-west, via the Roman Steps pass.

Bryn Cader Faner is a Bronze Age round cairn which lies to the east of the small hamlet of Talsarnau in the Ardudwy area of Gwynedd in Wales. The diameter is 8.7 metres (29 ft) and there are 18 thin jagged pillars which jut upwards from the low cairn. It is thought to date back to the late third millennium BC. The site was disturbed by 19th-century treasure hunters, who left a hole in the centre, indicating the position of a cist or a grave. Originally there may have been about 30 pillars, each some 2 metres (7 ft) long. However, before the Second World War, the British Army used the site for gunnery practice. The Army damaged many of the stones on the east side.Bryn Cader Faner is thought to mean 'the hill with the chair with the flag' or 'the hill of the throne with the flag'.

Moel Ysgyfarnogod (Welsh for 'Bare hill of the hares') is a mountain in Snowdonia, North Wales and is the northernmost of the Rhinogydd. Rhinog Fawr lies directly south.It overlooks Llyn Trawsfynydd, and from the summit it is possible to see the towns of Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog. It may be climbed from Trawsfynydd in the east, or from Talsarnau in the west. To the north-west of the summit, on an area of moorland and rocky outcrops, lies Bryn Cader Faner, an ancient stone circle. It is one of the finest examples of a Bronze Age cairn in Britain, and has rocky standing stones along its circumference.

Eisingrug (meaning: a place where corn was winnowed after husking) is a rural hamlet near Harlech, Gwynedd, Wales. It is located to the southeast of Porthmadog. Formerly at the edge of the parish of Llandecwyn, the hamlet was served by the church of Saint Tecwyn in the hills above Llandecwyn, and a Wesleyan Methodist chapel at the other end of the Bryn Bwbach to Esingrug road. A Methodist missionary visited Eisingrug in December 1845.The Cambrian Line railway passes close to the village. The nearest railway station is to the north at Talsarnau. In the northeast is the 14th century manor house, Maes-y-Neuadd, formerly home of the Wynn family - land owners, Sheriffs of Merioneth, descended from the 13th Century Osbwrn Wyddel - 'Osborn the Irishman' - related to the Oakleys of Tan y Bwlch and the Vaughns of Cors y Gedol.To the southwest is The Glyn and Brogyntyn Estate and to the northwest is Black Wood, a conifer plantation on a steep east-facing hillside with alternating rows of 2 separate conifer species. The area affords good views over northern parts of Cardigan Bay.

Cwm Nantcol is a valley in the Ardudwy area of the county of Gwynedd in Wales. It lies in the Rhinogydd range of mountains in Snowdonia and carries the Afon Cwmnantcol. At the head of Cwn Nantcol is the Bwlch Drws Ardudwy pass, from where it is possible to negotiate the summits of Rhinog Fawr and Rhinog Fach.

Dwyfor Meirionnydd is a constituency of the Senedd, first created for the former Assembly's 2007 election. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of eight constituencies in the Mid and West Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Dwyfor Meirionnydd is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (at Westminster). The seat was created by the Welsh Boundary Commission for the 2010 general election, and replaced the old north Wales seat of Meirionnydd Nant Conwy. Dwyfor Meirionnydd is bordered to the north by Arfon and Aberconwy. The same boundaries were used for the Dwyfor Meirionnydd Welsh Assembly constituency in the 2007 Welsh Assembly election. Like its predecessors, it is a Plaid Cymru stronghold, with their candidate in 2019 achieving a majority of 15.9%. The constituency is to retain its name and gain wards, as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election.

Foel Penolau is a mountain close to Moel Ysgyfarnogod in Snowdonia, North Wales and is the northernmost summit of the Rhinogydd, and overlooks Llyn Trawsfynydd. From the summit it is possible to see the towns of Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog. As a result of a revised survey of its topographical prominence, Foel Penolau gained Hewitt and Simms status in December 2018 when its prominence was measured to be above 30 m (98 ft).The top of Foel Penolau is reputed to be one of the rockiest summits in Snowdonia, where hands must be used to attain the summit. The summit is on a large smooth slab of rock which is the surface of the outcrop from which the top was formed.

Soar is a small village or hamlet in Gwynedd, Wales. It is located about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Harlech, close to Talsarnau and Llandecwyn. It has no school; children in the hamlet go to school in Talsarnau, which is a short walk down the hillside. There is a small park at the top of the hill in Soar (on your left as you drive up) with swings and climbing equipment. Parking is limited as it lies next to private houses which look out onto the park.

Talsarnau is a village and community in the Ardudwy area of Gwynedd in Wales. Its population was 525 in 2001, and had increased to 550 at the 2011 Census.The village of Talsarnau is situated on the A496 coastal road between Maentwrog and Harlech, close to the hamlets of Eisingrug and Llandecwyn. It has one primary school and one pub, "The Ship Aground", which starts serving food from 18:00 (6pm). Talsarnau railway station on the Cambrian Line serves the village. The community also includes Ynys Gifftan and Soar, Gwynedd.

Rhinog Fach is a mountain in Snowdonia, North Wales and forms part of the Rhinogydd. Technically, Rhinog Fach is a subsidiary summit of Y Llethr, but is a Marilyn. To the north lies its higher cousin Rhinog Fawr, separated by the shapely pass of Bwlch Drws Ardudwy. Although shorter than the highest mountain in the Rhinog range, Y Llethr, it is often regarded as the true 'king of the Rhinogydd' due to its spectacular rocky peak. Unlike Fach, Y Llethr's peak is grassy and unremarkable.
