Soar is a small village or hamlet in Gwynedd, Wales. It is located about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Harlech, close to Talsarnau and Llandecwyn. It has no school; children in the hamlet go to school in Talsarnau, which is a short walk down the hillside. There is a small park at the top of the hill in Soar (on your left as you drive up) with swings and climbing equipment. Parking is limited as it lies next to private houses which look out onto the park.

Eisingrug (meaning: a place where corn was winnowed after husking) is a rural hamlet near Harlech, Gwynedd, Wales. It is located to the southeast of Porthmadog. Formerly at the edge of the parish of Llandecwyn, the hamlet was served by the church of Saint Tecwyn in the hills above Llandecwyn, and a Wesleyan Methodist chapel at the other end of the Bryn Bwbach to Esingrug road. A Methodist missionary visited Eisingrug in December 1845.The Cambrian Line railway passes close to the village. The nearest railway station is to the north at Talsarnau. In the northeast is the 14th century manor house, Maes-y-Neuadd, formerly home of the Wynn family - land owners, Sheriffs of Merioneth, descended from the 13th Century Osbwrn Wyddel - 'Osborn the Irishman' - related to the Oakleys of Tan y Bwlch and the Vaughns of Cors y Gedol.To the southwest is The Glyn and Brogyntyn Estate and to the northwest is Black Wood, a conifer plantation on a steep east-facing hillside with alternating rows of 2 separate conifer species. The area affords good views over northern parts of Cardigan Bay.

Ynys Gifftan is an island near the south east shore of Traeth Bach, the Dwyryd estuary near Portmeirion in Gwynedd, north Wales. There is a public footpath to it across the estuary marked on Ordnance Survey maps but has no definable marks that make it obvious; it can be reached on foot at low tide and is 38 metres (125 ft) high. The island has been uninhabited since the mid-1960s and the island's single cottage is in a state of disrepair. It is one of 43 (unbridged) tidal islands which may be reached on foot from the mainland of Great Britain.

Penrhyndeudraeth railway station is a railway station serving the small town of Penrhyndeudraeth on the Dwyryd Estuary in Gwynedd, Wales. It is a station on the Cambrian Coast Railway with services between Shrewsbury and Pwllheli via Machynlleth.

Penrhyndeudraeth (Welsh pronunciation: [pɛnr̥ɨnˈdeɨ̯draːɨ̯θ] ; lit. 'peninsula with two beaches') is a small town and community in the Welsh county of Gwynedd. The town is close to the mouth of the River Dwyryd on the A487 nearly 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Porthmadog, and had a population of 2,150 at the 2011 census, increased from 2,031 in 2001. The community includes the villages of Minffordd and Portmeirion.

Llanfihangel-y-traethau ("St. Michael's on the Beaches") was a parish in Ardudwy, Gwynedd, north-west Wales centred on a church of the same name in the village of Ynys. The original parish church was built in the 12th century on a tidal island. Later the land rose and connected the island to the mainland. Today it is part of the Bro Ardudwy ministry area, which includes Harlech, a few miles (kilometres) to the southwest, and Barmouth. The church has a window depicting Saint Tecwyn and is the start of the Saint Tecwyn's Way, a pilgrimage route ending at Saint Tecwyn's church in Llandecwyn.

Ysbyty Bron y Garth (English: Bron y Garth Hospital) was a health facility in Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, Wales. It was managed by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Minffordd (roadside in Welsh) is a village within the Welsh county of Gwynedd. It is situated on the A487 road between Porthmadog and Penrhyndeudraeth, and in the community of the latter. The village has two adjacent railway stations, which are served both by Cambrian Line mainline train services and the narrow gauge Ffestiniog Railway. In 1992 the Ffestiniog Railway built a hostel to house volunteers working on the line.The stations are approximately quarter of a mile from the start of the mile-long drive to the Italianate hotel-village of Portmeirion. Nearby are the minor remains of a medieval castle (known variously as Castell Deudraeth, Castell Gwain Goch and Castell Aber Iau). The castle was first recorded by Giraldus Cambrensis (Gerald of Wales) in 1188. Garth Quarry was opened in 1870 to produce granite setts for transport to developing towns and cities by the newly opened Cambrian Railways. The quarry now produces roadstone and railway ballast. Ysbyty Bron y Garth was built as the Ffestiniog Union Workhouse in 1839 at a cost of £3,200 and was intended to house 150 inmates. In recent years the buildings were used as a community hospital operated by North West Wales NHS Trust. In 2009 the hospital was replaced by Ysbyty Alltwen at Tremadog. Part of the site houses over 400 lesser horseshoe bats.Minffordd is a thriving Welsh speaking village, where the language is used every day.
