Luyksgestel (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈlœy̯ks.ˌɣɛ.stəl]) is a village in the Netherlands. It is located in the province of North Brabant, within the municipality of Bergeijk.

Walik (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋaːˌlɪk]) is a hamlet in the North-Brabant municipality of Bergeijk and is located to the west of the village of Riethoven.Walik is an agricultural community with some farms located near a brink (village square).The hamlet was first mentioned between 1838 and 1857 as Waalwijk, and means "settlement around a pool'. There are three farms around the brink which are characteristic examples of Campian long gable farms and have been declared a monument.

Eersel is part of the Acht Zaligheden (Eight Beatitudes) and known for its attractive market. This market, together with the Hint, has been declared a protected village on October 19, 1967. This has been done to guarantee the future survival of its authentic character. The spoken language is Kempenlands (an East Brabantian dialect, which is very similar to colloquial Dutch).

The adjacent township of Walik is in general considered to be a part of Riethoven. Riethoven was originally called Rijthoven, but with time it changed into Riethoven. In Dutch The name means: farms at the Rijt, the Rijt being a river near the municipality. Riethoven was a separate municipality until 1997, when it became part of Bergeijk.The spoken language is Kempenlands (an East Brabantian dialect, which is very similar to Standard Dutch).

Restaurant De Acht Zaligheden is a defunct restaurant in Eersel, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1983–1995.In the time of the Michelin stars, Henk van Tuijl was the owner and head chef. His predecessor as owner and chef was Leon Ribbens, active in 1972.In 1979, while digging under the restaurant to create a new wine cellar, labourers found an old cesspool. In it, they found some ceramics. These artefacts were later dated by the Archaeological Institute of the Vrije Universiteit as coming from the Late Middle Ages and the Early modern period.The restaurant closed down between 1998 and 2003, when it was mentioned as restaurant Promessa.

Steensel is a village on the Gender stream in the municipality of Eersel, North Brabant, the Netherlands. Steensel is part of the Acht Zaligheden (Eight Beatitudes), along with Eersel, Knegsel, Duizel, Wintelre, Netersel, Hulsel en Reusel. The name Steensel appeared first in a document from 1224, in which a certain Henricus and Marcelis were mentioned as knights of Steensel. In 1688, Steensel was plundered and destroyed by French soldiers. In 1810, Steensel became part of the municipality of Duizel and Steensel. Steensel was home to 282 people in 1840. In 1922, this municipality then merged into the municipality of Eersel.

Duizel is a road village which developed along the Kleine Beerze.The tower of the St John Church dates from the 15th century. The matching church was demolished in 1927. The St John's Birth Church was built in 1925 in basilica style.During the 19th century, Duizel developed into a centre for the cigar industry. Duizel was home to 296 people in 1840. It was part of the municipality of Duizel en Steensel until 1922 when it was merged into Eersel.

Joe's Bridge is the nickname given to Bridge No.9 on the Bocholt-Herentals Canal outside the town of Neerpelt, in the Belgian city of Lommel just south of the Belgian-Dutch border. The bridge was captured by British troops in September 1944, becoming the springboard for the ground offensive of Operation Market-Garden.

Knegsel is part of the Acht Zaligheden (Eight Beatitudes), alongside Eersel, Duizel, Steensel, Wintelre, Netersel, Hulsel en Reusel. The village was first mentioned in 1281 as Cneczele, and means "single room house belonging to the servant".Knegsel was home to 238 people in 1840. The Catholic Monulphus and Gondulphus was built in 1926, and was a low wide tower. Knegsel used to be part of the municipality Vessem, Wintelre en Knegsel. In 1996, it was merged into Eersel.

Schoot is a hamlet in the municipality of Veldhoven in the province of North Brabant, the Netherlands. The hamlet is located on a street with the same name. This street is a side street of the Knegselseweg, the road connecting Veldhoven with the village Knegsel. East of Schoot lies the residential area Pegbroeken. West of Schoot flows the small stream the Poelenloop and lies the forest area Oeyenbos.
