Renkum

Oosterbeek is a village in the eastern part of Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Renkum in the province of Gelderland, about 5 km (3.1 mi) west of Arnhem. The oldest part of Oosterbeek is the Benedendorp (Lower Village), on the northern bank of the Lower Rhine. One landmark in the village is the Hervormde Kerk (Reformed Church), which has certain architectural sections that date back to the second half of the 10th century. It is the oldest church in the country which is still in use.Oosterbeek was a separate municipality until 1818, when the area was divided between Doorwerth and the village of Renkum. In the 19th century, several mansions were built on the higher ground to the north of the old village. One of these mansions, called De Hemelse Berg, was destroyed in 1944. Another, called Hartenstein, is now home to the Airborne Museum. The construction of smaller buildings in the same area led to the creation of the Bovendorp (Upper Village). To the north of the built-up area lies the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery. The village is known for its involvement in the September 1944 Battle of Arnhem, during which it was heavily damaged. General Roy Urquhart of Britain had his headquarters at Hotel Hartenstein. In May 1978 Urquhart opened the Airborne Museum in the hotel, which commemorates the Battle of Arnhem.Oosterbeek is also the location of the Hotel de Bilderberg, where the Bilderberg Group first met in 1954.

The Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery, more commonly known as the Airborne Cemetery, is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery in Oosterbeek, near Arnhem, the Netherlands. It was established in 1945 and is home to 1764 graves from the Second World War besides 4 later non-war graves and there are special memorials of two personnel buried elsewhere. Most of the men buried in the cemetery were Allied servicemen killed in the Battle of Arnhem, an Allied attempt to cross the Rhine in 1944, or in the liberation of the city the following year. Men killed in these battles are still discovered in the surrounding area even in the 21st century, and so the number of people interred in the cemetery continues to grow.

Oosterbeek is a railway station located in Oosterbeek, Netherlands. The station opened on 16 May 1845 and is on the Amsterdam–Arnhem railway (Rhijnspoorweg). The station was originally called Oosterbeek Hoog, as there was also a station called Oosterbeek Laag, meaning Lower Oosterbeek. This railway station was located on the Arnhem–Nijmegen railway. The station is the least used on the Amsterdam–Arnhem railway, with less than 600 passengers per day.

KEMA Toren is a 149-metre (489 ft) broadcasting tower built of reinforced concrete at Arnhem, Netherlands. It was built in 1969 by KEMA for communicating between high voltage substations throughout the Netherlands. It is now used for public radio and TV broadcasting. It is also known as TenneT Toren, after TenneT, the present owner of the tower.

The Koepelgevangenis is a former prison in Arnhem, Netherlands. It is one of three Panopticon-style buildings situated in the country. Designed by Johan Metzelaar, the building was completed in 1886. A Rijksmonument, the prison closed in 2016. After the prison's closure, the building, along with the one at Haarlem, was used to house asylum seekers to the Netherlands.

Arnhem Zuid is a railway station located in southern Arnhem, Netherlands. The station was opened on 11 December 2005 and is located on the Arnhem - Nijmegen railway line. The station is operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

Het Dorp is a neighborhood or village in the Netherlands near Arnhem. The phrase "het dorp" literally means "the village". Open Het Dorp was a TV telethon in November 1962, which raised funds to construct the village.

Driel is a village in the municipality of Overbetuwe, approximately four kilometers southwest of Arnhem on the south bank of the Rhine, in the Netherlands.

Elden is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Arnhem, about 4 km southwest of the city centre. Elden was a separate municipality between 1813 and 1818, when it was merged with Elst. It became part of Arnhem in 1966.The village of Elden, on the south side of the Rhine, has now been completely surrounded by neighbourhoods of the city of Arnhem and is now an enclave. The village still has its own place name signs.

Olympic Training Centre Papendal (Dutch: [ˈpaːpənˌdɑl]) is the national training centre of the Netherlands, located in the Veluwe woods 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from Arnhem. Papendal is the home base of NOC*NSF and football club SBV Vitesse. The soccer fields are also being used as training ground by Vitesse's first team squad. Around 550 top athletes use the facilities of Papendal, 400 on a daily basis. With over 20 building projects in 10 years time, the Olympic Training Centre is completely modernized.

Heveadorp is a village near Doorwerth in the municipality of Renkum, Gelderland, the Netherlands. The village is situated in a valley surrounded by forest. The creek Seelbeek runs through the village. Heveadorp was founded in 1916 by Dirk Frans Wilhelmi as a company town for the workers of his rubber factory Heveafabriek. Hevea is the scientific name for the rubber plant.During the German occupation of the Netherlands the factory was used for war purposes. During Operation Market Garden, the factory and village were severely damaged. In 1962, Heave merged with Apollo Vredestein and the factory was moved to Renkum in 1975. The 400 villagers who remained, refused to leave the village. In 2009, it was officially recognised as a village.

De Hoop (English: The Hope) is a tower mill in Arnhem, Gelderland, Netherlands which was built in 1846 and is in working order. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument.
