Greensky Hill Indian United Methodist Church is located east of Charlevoix, Michigan at the junction of U.S. 31 and CR 630. On March 16, 1972, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The church has been preserved with all of the original woodwork and can comfortably seat about 80 people. The church serves a free community breakfast, 9-10 AM, every Sunday morning. The meal is open to all, with no religious expectations or requirements. Worship services are also open to everyone, 10-11 AM, every Sunday.

Lake Charlevoix ( SHAR-lə-voy) is a lake in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is the third largest inland lake in the state with a surface area of over 17,200 acres (70 km2) and 56 miles (90 km) of shoreline. The maximum depth in the main basin is 122 feet (37 m) and in the south arm, 58 feet (18 m). The lake's largest tributaries are the Jordan River, feeding into the south arm at East Jordan, and the Boyne River, flowing into the main basin from the east at Boyne City. Other significant tributaries include Horton, Stover, Porter, and Loeb Creeks. The outflow of Lake Charlevoix is the short Round Lake/Pine River complex which discharges into Lake Michigan at Charlevoix. The lake's watershed covers 335 square miles (870 km2) in Charlevoix and Antrim Counties, and a small portion of the northwest corner of Otsego County. The lake occupies portions of Charlevoix Township, Marion Township, Hayes Township, Eveline Township, Bay Township, and Evangeline Township. Young State Park is located on the shore of the lake just northwest of Boyne City. The Ironton Ferry at Ironton, a designated Michigan Historical Site in operation since 1876, crosses the south arm where it branches off from the main basin, saving about 20 minutes of driving time around the south arm by the shoreline route. The lake was also known previously as Pine Lake and Long Lake. It was renamed from "Pine Lake" to its current name ("Lake Charlevoix") in 1926.

Big Rock Point was a nuclear power plant near Charlevoix, Michigan, United States. Big Rock operated from 1962 to 1997. It was owned and operated by Consumers Power, now known as Consumers Energy. Its boiling water reactor was made by General Electric (GE) and was capable of producing 67 megawatts of electricity. Bechtel Corporation was the primary contractor.

Little Traverse Wheelway is a rail-to-trail bike path and part of U.S Bicycle Route 35 in the state of Michigan. The trail is 26.65 miles (42.89 km) of paved trail which starts in Charlevoix (Waller Road) and ends in Harbor Springs (East Lake Road). The Little Traverse Wheelway will eventually connect to the TART Trail, but for now it connects with North Western State Trail at Spring Lake Park. Ironton Ferry is a four-car cable ferry that crosses a narrow point on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix in the U.S. state of Michigan in the unincorporated community of Ironton. The ferry connects Ironton, located about five miles (8.0 km) from Charlevoix, to Boyne City.The ferry runs between April and November. The automobile fare has risen to $3.00 each way.

The Horton Bay General Store is a commercial building located at 05115 Boyne City Road in Horton Bay, Michigan. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The store is mentioned in two of Ernest Hemingway's short stories, "Up in Michigan" and "The Last Good Country."

The Red Fox Inn, also known as the Horton Bay House, is a building, originally, a boardinghouse, located at 05156 Boyne City Road in Horton Bay, Michigan. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. The inn is mentioned in Ernest Hemingway's short story, "Up in Michigan," and tradition has it that the inn's proprietor during the 1910s and 20s, Vollie Fox, taught Hemingway how to fish.

Ironton is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population of the CDP was 148 at the 2020 census. It is located within Eveline Township on a narrow portion of Lake Charlevoix that is traversed by the Ironton Ferry.

Horton Bay is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population of the CDP was 485 at the 2020 census. The community is located within Bay Township on northeastern shores of Lake Charlevoix.

The Horton Bay School is a school building located at 04991 Boyne City-Charlevoix Road in Horton Bay, Michigan. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Bay Township is a civil township of Charlevoix County, Michigan, United States. The population was 1,122 at the 2010 census.Bay Township was established in 1887. The township contains the census-designated place of Horton Bay. The community and surrounding area were featured in several stories by Ernest Hemingway, particularly the Nick Adams stories including "The End of Something".

Eveline Township is a civil township of Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,484 at the 2010 census.
