Ironton, Michigan

Ironton Ferry is a four-car cable ferry that crosses a narrow point on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix in the U.S. state of Michigan in the unincorporated community of Ironton. The ferry connects Ironton, located about five miles (8.0 km) from Charlevoix, to Boyne City.The ferry runs between April and November. The automobile fare has risen to $3.00 each way.

Lake Charlevoix ( SHAR-lə-voy) is a lake in Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is the third largest inland lake in the state with a surface area of over 17,200 acres (70 km2) and 56 miles (90 km) of shoreline. The maximum depth in the main basin is 122 feet (37 m) and in the south arm, 58 feet (18 m). The lake's largest tributaries are the Jordan River, feeding into the south arm at East Jordan, and the Boyne River, flowing into the main basin from the east at Boyne City. Other significant tributaries include Horton, Stover, Porter, and Loeb Creeks. The outflow of Lake Charlevoix is the short Round Lake/Pine River complex which discharges into Lake Michigan at Charlevoix. The lake's watershed covers 335 square miles (870 km2) in Charlevoix and Antrim Counties, and a small portion of the northwest corner of Otsego County. The lake occupies portions of Charlevoix Township, Marion Township, Hayes Township, Eveline Township, Bay Township, and Evangeline Township. Young State Park is located on the shore of the lake just northwest of Boyne City. The Ironton Ferry at Ironton, a designated Michigan Historical Site in operation since 1876, crosses the south arm where it branches off from the main basin, saving about 20 minutes of driving time around the south arm by the shoreline route. The lake was also known previously as Pine Lake and Long Lake. It was renamed from "Pine Lake" to its current name ("Lake Charlevoix") in 1926.

Holy Island is a populated island located within Lake Charlevoix in the U.S. state of Michigan. The island is part of Eveline Township in Charlevoix County.

Castle Farms is a special events facility located in Charlevoix, Michigan. It was constructed in 1918 by Albert Loeb, who was the Vice President of Sears, Roebuck and Company, and it was designed by Arthur Heun.

WMKT (1270 AM) is a radio station licensed to Charlevoix, Michigan, broadcasting a talk radio format. The station also broadcasts on two FM translators on W272CR 102.3 (formerly 92.1) and W277DY 103.3 and streams online. The station features local programming with local news and weather forecasts by Nick Rhudy every weekday during the 6 AM to Noon hours. Nick Rhudy also has a daily, local radio show from 5 PM to 6 PM, "Talk of the North with Nick Rhudy. The rest of the station's lineup are from syndicated sources. The station is a Fox News Radio affiliate.

Greensky Hill Indian United Methodist Church is located east of Charlevoix, Michigan at the junction of U.S. 31 and CR 630. On March 16, 1972, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The church has been preserved with all of the original woodwork and can comfortably seat about 80 people. The church serves a free community breakfast, 9-10 AM, every Sunday morning. The meal is open to all, with no religious expectations or requirements. Worship services are also open to everyone, 10-11 AM, every Sunday.

The Chicago and West Michigan Railroad Charlevoix Station is a railroad depot located on Chicago Avenue in Charlevoix, Michigan. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Hayes Township is a civil township of Charlevoix County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,919 at the 2010 census.

Little Traverse Wheelway is a rail-to-trail bike path and part of U.S Bicycle Route 35 in the state of Michigan. The trail is 26.65 miles (42.89 km) of paved trail which starts in Charlevoix (Waller Road) and ends in Harbor Springs (East Lake Road). The Little Traverse Wheelway will eventually connect to the TART Trail, but for now it connects with North Western State Trail at Spring Lake Park. The John J. and Eva Reynier Porter Estate, also known as Elm Pointe, is a house, with associated outbuildings, located at 01787 M-66 South in South Arm Township, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The estate is now a public park, and houses the East Jordan Portside Art and Historical Society Museum.
