The Elihu Akin House is a house in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, United States. It was built in 1762 by carpenter Jon Mosher. The house was later owned by the Akins, who were a prominent local family; Elihu Akin moved into the house after his own former home had been destroyed in a British raid. At the start of the 21st century, the house was extensively renovated. The Dartmouth Heritage Preservation Trust and the town of Dartmouth now own the house.

The Howland Mill Village Historic District is a historic district roughly bounded by Bolton, Winsper, Hemlock Sts., and Rockdale Avenue in New Bedford, Massachusetts. It consists of a collection of single-family mill worker housing units constructed in 1888-89 for workers at the nearby Howland Mill, and several double-decker houses built in the 1920s. The districts uniformity of style is apparent despite some exterior alterations: there are only two basic house plans. The Howland Mill Company was founded in 1886, and its mills were used in production (under a variety of names and owners) until 1954. Most of the housing was sold off in the 1910s.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Russell Garrison was a fortified area of Dartmouth, Massachusetts in the 17th century. Now a small town-owned public park located on Fort Street in its Apponagansett neighborhood, the garrison site includes the reconstructed foundational remnants of the homestead of early settler John Russell, progenitor of the locally prominent Russell family. The house was originally surrounded by a wooden stockade, and was the site of attacks during King Philip's War in the 1670s. It is one of the town's few 17th-century home sites whose location is known, having undergone excavation in 1951. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.

The Rural Cemetery and Friends Cemetery are a pair of connected cemeteries at 149 Dartmouth Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts United States. They occupy an irregular parcel of land more than 90 acres (36 ha) in size on the west side of the city. Established in 1837, the Rural Cemetery was the fifth rural cemetery in the nation, after Mount Auburn Cemetery (Cambridge, Massachusetts), Mount Hope Cemetery (Bangor, Maine), Mount Pleasant Cemetery (Taunton, Massachusetts), and Laurel Hill Cemetery (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). In its early days it was criticized as lacking some of the natural beauty afforded by rolling terrain; the early sections were laid out in rectilinear manner on relatively flat terrain. The cemetery was a popular burial site, including notably the landscape artist Albert Bierstadt and Governor of Massachusetts John H. Clifford.In contrast to the more decorative nature of the Rural Cemetery, the Friends Cemetery is much plainer. It consists of a roughly 2-acre (0.81 ha) parcel on one side of the Rural Cemetery, which was sold to the Dartmouth Friends in 1849, but is administered by the city. This section has less ornate markers, generally laid out in rectilinear fashion. It includes burials that were relocated from a Friends cemetery (dating to 1793) that had been located on the New Bedford waterfront.The cemeteries were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Southworth Library was a library located in the village of Padanaram, a coastal village located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, at 404 Elm Street. The library was opened in 1890, and is currently known as the Dartmouth Cultural Center.

The Hill School is a historic school building (now a private residence) at 4 Middle Street in the Padanaram village of Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The two-story wood-frame structure was built c. 1806, and was established by the area's early settlers as a cooperative venture. It has a "3/4" facade, with three asymmetrically placed windows on each floor, and an off-center entry between two of them, with no window above. The building was moved about 450 feet (140 m) in 1912 to its present location.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Thompson Street School is a historic school building at 58 Crapo Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story school was built in 1884 to a design by Brownell & Murkland, and features a distinctive blend of Queen Anne, Stick, and Romanesque styling. It was built during a period of rapid growth in the area, and was named for James D. Thompson, a prominent locally-born military leader and politician. It was converted for use as a community center in 1976.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Moreland Terrace Historic District is a historic district roughly bounded by Moreland Terrace, Ash, Bedford, and Page Streets in New Bedford, Massachusetts. It is a residential area that was developed in the early-to-mid 20th century, and is characterized by larger lot sizes and a higher quality of housing than surrounding areas. Most of the houses are Colonial Revival in style, with a few examples of earlier styles (Georgian Revival, Queen Anne), as well as a few later ranch-style houses.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Robert C. Ingraham School is a historic school building at 80 Rivet Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The three story brick Romanesque Revival building was built in 1901 to a design by local architect Samuel C. Hunt, who designed several other New Bedford school buildings. It was built on a site previously owned by the Potomska Mill Company and used for mill worker housing, and was named for the first librarian of the New Bedford Free Public Library. The building served the city as an elementary school until 1977, and was used for storage until 1992. From 1992 until 2006 it housed a preschool.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

St. John the Baptist is a historic church in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and a former parish of the Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Fall River. At its closure, it had been the oldest Portuguese-American parish in the United States.
