Haden Hill

Haden Hill Park is at Haden Hill, between Halesowen and Old Hill in the West Midlands, England, on the southern edge of the Black Country. Within its grounds are the sixteenth and seventeenth century Haden Hall (also known as Haden Hill Old Hall), the Victorian Haden Hill House and Corngreaves Nature Reserve. The estate, of which the Park was a central part, was built up by the Haden family over many hundreds of years, before passing to the Barrs family by marriage in 1876. In 1877 it passed to George Alfred Haden Haden-Best (1839–1921) who built Haden Hill House and developed the parkland. On his death in 1921, it was bequeathed to his nephews, the Bassano brothers, who offered it for sale. It was bought by Rowley Regis Borough Council (later succeeded by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council) following a public subscription in 1922 and became a public facility. A major restoration programme over the period 2000–2007 was largely funded by the National Lottery. The Park has been given a Green Flag Award every year since 2004 and also has been a Green Heritage Site winner. In addition, the park won the Black Country Hotel and Tourism Awards ('Small Visitor Attraction' category) in 2008. Sandwell Council lists Haden Hill Park as one of the borough's nine "flagship parks".

Old Hill is an area of Rowley Regis in the metropolitan borough of Sandwell in the West Midlands, England, situated around 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Halesowen and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south of Dudley. Initially a separate village it is now part of the much larger West Midlands conurbation.

Ormiston Forge Academy (formerly Heathfield Foundation Technology College and Heathfield High School) is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status located in the Old Hill area of Cradley Heath, West Midlands, England.Heathfield High School was built in the 1970s when two local schools Cradley Heath Secondary School, in the Lomey Town area of Cradley Heath, and Macefield Secondary School, in Old Hill, merged. The name of the school was coined from the names of the two schools. The new building programme of 2007 was completed, with a new hair and beauty salon, seminar rooms, catering rooms and a new sixth form study centre. As of 2011, the school became an academy sponsored by the Ormiston Academies Trust. The school was then renamed Ormiston Forge Academy.Today, the school serves pupils living in the Cradley Heath, Old Hill and Rowley Regis areas of Sandwell. The school has a mountain centre located in Dinas Mawddwy, Gwynedd, North Wales. The building, previously an old school, was converted into accommodation for students when taking part in environmental studies, or some other rural activity. The original mountain centre was located in Llanbrynmair, Powys, Mid-Wales. This was a converted church building.

Hawne is a residential area approximately one mile from Halesowen town centre in the county of West Midlands, England. It includes Newfield Park Primary School, Earls High School and Halesowen College. There is a mix of private and council housing in the area, much built between 1950 and 1980, but with many terraced houses from circa 1890. Another landmark in the area is The Grove, home of non-league football team Halesowen Town. It is also home to the owners of Betts Motor Services in Netherton.

Halesowen is a constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. Created as a result of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it was first contested at the 2024 general election. The constituency is named after the town of Halesowen.

Old Hill railway station is in Old Hill, West Midlands, England, on the Birmingham-Stourbridge line. It is managed by West Midlands Trains, who provide the majority of train services; Chiltern Railways also operate a small number.

Old Hill High Street railway station was a station on the former Great Western Railway's Bumble Hole Line between Blowers Green and Old Hill. It was the second of the two stations in Old Hill, and its location in reference to the town centre was significantly more convenient than the station which exists today. It opened in 1905 and closed in 1964.

Cradley Heath is a town in the Rowley Regis area of the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, West Midlands, England approximately 2 miles (3 km) north-west of Halesowen, 3 miles (5 km) south of Dudley and 8 miles (13 km) west of central Birmingham. Cradley Heath is often confused with the neighbouring Halesowen district of Cradley from which it is separated by the River Stour; both are in the Black Country but have long been administered by different local authorities, and until 1966 were in separate counties. Cradley Heath is one of several towns in central England still recognisable from their early 20th-century appearance. Many of the shops and houses in the High Street are still standing after 100 years, though some were demolished in the mid-2000s to make way for a bypass, to ease congestion in the town centre.

Cradley Heath Baptist Church, also known as Four-ways Baptist Church, was the first Church of any denomination to build a chapel in Cradley Heath, West Midlands. The first meeting was in December 1833, in Grainger's Lane. Later, land was bought near the Four-Ways end of the High Street, and a meeting place was built. The site was expanded, and two further buildings were built, the last in 1904. The church building is Grade 2 Listed. The church is noted for appointing Britain's first recorded black West Indian pastor, Rev. George Cosens (or Cousens), in 1837.

Halesowen Town Football Club is a football club based in Halesowen, West Midlands, England. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands and play at the Grove Recreation Ground.

Windsor High School is a secondary school with academy status located on Richmond Street, Halesowen, West Midlands, England. It is among the largest schools in the region, with capacity for 1,700 pupils aged 11 to 18, and is heavily over-subscribed.
