All Saints' Church is a historic Episcopal church located at 100 Lower Marlboro Road (near the intersection of Southern Maryland Boulevard MD 4 and Solomons Island Road MD 2), in Sunderland, Calvert County, Maryland. All Saint's Parish was one of the thirty original Anglican parishes created in 1692 to encompass the Province of Maryland. In 1693 its first parish church, a log structure, was built on an acre of land called Kemp's Desire donated by Thomas Hillary. This log church was expanded in 1703-1704 and repaired at least 4 times before being replaced on top of the hill between MD routes 4, 262, and 2 by the present brick building.Built between 1774 and 1777, the present church building is a Georgian structure of Flemish bond brick with random glazed headers. Since All Saint's Parish was part of the established church of the Province of Maryland, the published volumes of the Archives of Maryland contain pertinent documented source material on the building showing that it was built with county taxes while future bishop Thomas Claggett served as its rector.All Saints' Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.All Saints' Church remains an active parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland. Its current rector is the Rev. Andrew Rutledge.

However, as of November 2007, the former Sunderland post office had closed its doors due to a lease dispute, without opening a new location, and postal officials are determining where to locate a new post office.All Saints' Church, circa 1774-1777, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The Joseph D. Lyons House was listed in 1998.

The Joseph D. Lyons House is a historic home in Sunderland, Calvert County, Maryland, United States that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is privately owned and not open to the public. It is a large, two-story frame structure with a hip roof and full-width front and rear porches. The house is five bays in width, front and back, and four in depth on both sides, with all of the openings evenly spaced and precisely aligned at both floor levels. It was completed in 1924, and built in Colonial Revival-style by a local contracting firm known as Lyons, Gibson & Company who were responsible for many of Calvert County's more important early-20th century public buildings and private residences. A number of agricultural buildings contemporary with the house survive, including a garage, several sheds, and a sprawling, multi-use bank barn.The Joseph D. Lyons House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Cornehill is a historic home located at Parran, Calvert County, Maryland, United States. It is a five-bay-long two-story Georgian brick house laid in Flemish bond with a steeply pitched gable roof with an exterior chimney at each gable end. One brick on the southwest corner contains the date 1786 and the initials "T.F." The initials purportedly refer to Thelbert Freeland, a member of an influential family in northeastern Calvert County. Outbuildings include slave quarters to the south of the house, and a tobacco barn with oak framing. During the majority of the 18th century, the Mackall family, large Calvert County landowners, held Cornehill, or "Cornhill."Cornehill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Calvert High School is a public high school in Prince Frederick, Maryland, United States and is part of the Calvert County Public Schools. The campus is on Dares Beach Road and includes the main school building, a gym for basketball games, a football stadium, a baseball field, tennis courts, a soccer field, a lacrosse and field hockey field, and a large auditorium used for school concerts and plays. Additionally, it also includes the Arthur Storer Planetarium, named for the Calvert County resident and the original namesake of Halley's Comet. A vocational education center is adjacent to the main school building. Before moving to its current campus in 1963, Calvert High School used to be along Maryland Route 2/Maryland Route 4. The building once served as a building for Calvert Middle School, a public middle school that serves as a feeder school of Calvert High. Calvert Middle School recently moved from that building and built a new school in Prince Frederick. In 1965, desegregation of the Calvert County Public Schools led to Brooks High School — the county's then all-black high school — being merged with Calvert High. Calvert High's school mascot is the Cavalier. The sports teams compete in the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference. Calvert High's athletic rivals include the neighboring schools of Northern High School, Huntingtown High School, and Patuxent High School. In 2000, the Cavaliers captured the Maryland State Division 3A American football championship under the leadership of head coach Jerry Franks. In 2015, the Calvert High School Varsity Girls Soccer Team also added to Calvert's achievements by winning the Maryland 2A State Championship under the leadership of Dawn Lister and Damon Williams. Calvert High and Patuxent High are the only 2A schools in the county. Along with many achievements in sports Calvert high school has had significant success in academic achievements. Such related activities include the success of the Vex robotics team. In 2014 one of its teams, 1670d, attended the world competition in Anaheim, California. As of 2015, the total attendees of Calvert is 1,166 students total that make up grades nine through twelve. The attendance rate among these students is 93.8%. Out of these 1,166 student in 2015, 591 are female and 575 are male. 7% of students are receiving special services for Special Education.

The Calvert Peninsula is part of the Western Shore region of the U.S. state of Maryland. It extends about 25 miles (40 km) into Chesapeake Bay with the main bay providing its eastern border and the Patuxent River defining its western border. It constitutes a total land area of about 350 square miles (910 km2) and is essentially conterminous with Calvert County. Immediately south of the Calvert Peninsula is the larger St. Mary's Peninsula, defined by the Patuxent and Potomac Rivers. It is the site of Calvert Cliffs State Park and the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant.
