The Eli and Sybil Jones House is a historic house at Maine State Route 3 and Dirigo Road in South China, Maine. Built in 1833, this modest house was the home of Quaker missionaries Eli Jones and Sybil Jones, who gained international renown for their travels in Europe, the Middle East, and West Africa. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Dinsmore Grain Company Mill was a historic early 20th-century mill building on Branch Mill Road in China, Maine, USA. Built in 1914 on a site with nearly 100 years of industrial use, it was (according to its 1979 listing on the National Register of Historic Places) a well-preserved and functional period water-powered grist mill and sawmill. It was demolished in 2017, and delisted from the National Register in 2023.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

China Lake is a lake in Kennebec County, Maine. Located northeast of the state capital of Augusta, China Lake is situated in the towns of China and Vassalboro. China Lake has two large basins connected by a narrow neck. The elongated eastern basin with an average depth of less than 30 feet (9.1 m) is entirely within the town of China, and has an irregular shoreline heavily developed with residences and seasonal cottages. The more nearly circular western basin extending into East Vassalboro is as deep as 85 feet (26 m), and shoreline development around the western basin has been discouraged to allow use as a water supply for Waterville and Winslow. The western basin overflows into Outlet Stream in the town of Vassalboro. Outlet Stream flows 7 miles (11 km) north to discharge into the Sebasticook River in Winslow 1 mile (1.6 km) upstream of the Kennebec River.Summer water temperatures in China Lake range from 72 °F (22 °C) near the surface to 48 °F (9 °C) in the deepest pools. Nutrient loading from shoreline development causes annual algal blooms with nocturnal depression of dissolved oxygen concentrations. These conditions have become unsuitable for historic populations of Atlantic salmon and lake trout. Introduced brown trout have adapted to lake conditions, and brook trout fishing has been sustained by stocking legal-size fish from surplus hatchery production. China Lake is also known locally for producing some of the most productive Largemouth Bass fishing in Maine, with several large tournaments held each summer. Other fish found in the lake include smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, white perch, yellow perch, sunfish, creek chub, white sucker, hornpout, and American eel. Public boat launch facilities are available at the north end of the eastern basin and in Vassalboro near the outlet of the western basin.

Pendle Hill is a historic summer house between United States Route 202 and China Lake in South China, Maine. Built in 1916, it served as the summer home of Quaker theologian, historian, and writer Rufus Jones until his death in 1948. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Built in 1815, it is a fine local example of Federal period architecture, which is most notable as the birthplace and childhood home of the important Quaker writer and historian Rufus Jones. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983; it is one of several properties in South China to be listed for their association with Jones.

South China is a village in the town of China in Kennebec County, Maine, United States. It is one of five villages in the town. Located between Augusta and Waterville, South China sits along the shores of its namesake, China Lake. It is an hour and a half from both Bangor and Portland. Maine State Route 3 runs through the major part of the town, leading west to Augusta and east to Belfast, and U.S. Route 202 (Lakeview Drive) connects South China with China.

Built in 1884 as a Quaker meeting house, it is now home to multi-denominational congregation. It is notable as one of the places that influenced Quaker writer Rufus Jones, who was raised in South China and attended services here after this building replaced the Pond Meeting House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

China Village is an unincorporated village in the town of China, Kennebec County, Maine, United States. The community is located at the junction of U.S. Route 202, Maine State Route 9, and Maine State Route 137, 7.6 miles (12.2 km) southeast of Waterville. China Village has a post office. Most of the village is part of the China Village Historic District, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Threemile Pond is a lake located in Windsor and China, Maine. Despite the name, the pond is in fact 2.71 miles long. The lake has a boat ramp for aquatic activities . The lake has 4 small islands named Camp Island, Marsh Island, Shallow Island, and Overlook Island. South Vassalboro is located less than half a mile away from the lake. Three of the lake's Islands are private, and one is an undeveloped marsh.

Hibberts Gore (also called Hibberts) is a gore in Lincoln County, Maine, United States. The gore's population was one as of the 2020 United States census.
