Valentines High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in the Ilford area of the London Borough of Redbridge, England. It has approximately 1300 pupils and 93 teachers. Valentines has been a teaching school since 2011, and is a member of the Leading Edge partnership programme. In 2006, it was designated as a specialist school for technology and had technology college status.

Gants Hill is an area of Ilford in East London, England, within the borough of Redbridge. It is a suburb 9.5 miles (15.3 km) east northeast of Charing Cross. It lends its name to a central roundabout where five roads meet.

Grandma's House is a sitcom television series broadcast on BBC Two. Written by Simon Amstell and long-term collaborator Dan Swimer, the series stars Simon Amstell playing a version of himself: an ex-television presenter searching for meaning in his life. Each episode takes place at his grandmother's house, where Grandma (Linda Bassett) welcomes her family, desperate to see everyone happy. The first series was shown in 2010, the second in 2012. In December 2012 Amstell stated that there would not be a third series.

Valentines Park is a 52-hectare (130-acre) park, south of Gants Hill, it is the largest green space in the London Borough of Redbridge. The park was originally the grounds of Valentines Mansion, a residence built in 1696. Valentines Park holds a Green Flag Award and was voted one of the ten best parks in Britain in 2019.The park, including Valentines Mansion, is managed on behalf of Redbridge Council by Vision RCL, a registered charity.

Cranbrook is a district of South Ilford in the London Borough of Redbridge. It has been entirely absorbed into the urban sprawl of Ilford, forming the area north of Ilford railway station. The name has its earliest use in 1233 as Cranebroc. Moreover, it is named for a tributary of the River Roding, the Cran Brook.

The London Borough of Redbridge Parks Police Service was a body of constables responsible for policing the parks and open spaces in the London Borough of Redbridge. The service was headed by Chief Officer John Boylin, the former Metropolitan Police Borough Commander for Redbridge. Policing was provided by two shifts, each consisting of one sergeant and six constables. On 31 October 2011, the service was disbanded and replaced by a Council-funded team of Metropolitan Police officers known as the "Redbridge Community Police Team".

St Clement's Church, Ilford was a Church of England church on Park Avenue in Ilford in the London Borough of Redbridge. It was built between 1889 and 1896. The land for the building was donated by Mrs Clement Ingleby of Valentines and the building designed by Cutts Brothers. Initially a chapel of ease to St Mary's Church, Ilford, it replaced it as the parish's main church in 1902. Its vicar was appointed by All Souls College, Oxford. It was demolished in 1977.For four and a half years from 1912, the church's curate was William Henry Jackson, who went on to be a missionary in Burma (now Myanmar) and invented Burmese Braille.

Cranbrook (formally Cranbrook College) was an independent co-educational school, located in Ilford, Greater London, England. The Cognita Group owned and operated the school until its closure in 2016. At that time the school covered the full range of academic years from Nursery to Year 11. Previously, in 2011, Cranbrook had merged with Glenarm College, another Cognita school in Ilford.

Ursuline Academy Ilford is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form for girls in Ilford, London, England.The school was established by the Ursulines as Ilford Ursuline High School in 1903. It converted to academy status in 2011 and is administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brentwood.

Clayhall is a district of Ilford in the London Borough of Redbridge in east London, England. It is a suburban development. The name is derived from an old manor house that stood within the current area. It is first mentioned in a document of 1203 as being an area of land granted to Adam and Matilda de la Claie by Richard de la Claie. The estate probably remained in the hands of this family for about one hundred years, after which it passed through several hands, without ever being positively identified by name, until in a conveyance of 1410 it is described as the manor of Clayhall. In the middle of the 17th century, Sir Christopher Hatton, cousin of the Lord Chancellor Sir Christopher Hatton, lived at the Manor House, but by the middle of the next century the estate was let to tenant farmers. The last tenants of the property were William Ingram, until his death in 1853, and then William, James and Frank Lamb, respectively father, son and grandson. The manor house itself was demolished, probably during the ownership of Peter Eaton, in the middle of the 18th century, and replaced by a farm house. The estate was broken up for building sites in 1935. Clayhall Park in Longwood Gardens is one of Ilford's largest open spaces and has a bowling green, two children's play areas and tennis courts. Clayhall also has a small community library, operated by Vision RCL and a part of Redbridge Libraries.
