Limaburg is an unincorporated community in Boone County, in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

Hopeful Lutheran Church was chartered on January 6, 1806. It was founded by a group of colonists from Virginia who settled in Boone County. In 1807, the first log church was built on an acre of donated land. Hopeful did not have a full-time pastor until October 1813 when Rev. William Carpenter (a Revolutionary War veteran) moved to Boone County to be the first Pastor. While fires destroyed the first three structures, the current church building was finished in 1917 in Florence, Kentucky. This is the fourth church structure on the site serving the same Lutheran congregation.A group of 14 families associated with the Hebron Lutheran Church of Germanna, Madison Co. VA, settled in Boone County in 1805. Family names included Hoffman, Rouse, Tanner, Hanse, Carpenter, and Zimmermann. Their descendants are well represented in the current population of Boone County. Hopeful Lutheran Church was the first Lutheran church in the county and its first regular pastor, William Carpenter, moved to the area in 1813.

Florence Mall is an indoor shopping mall in Florence, Kentucky, United States. Built in 1976 by Homart Development Company, the mall originally featured Sears, Shillito's, Pogue's, and JCPenney as its four anchor stores. The mall features over 100 stores and a food court. Another notable feature of the mall is the Florence Y'all Water Tower on the mall property; this water tower originally bore the mall's name, but was altered prior to the mall's opening. The mall's anchor stores are JCPenney and two locations of Macy's, with the former location of Sears being vacant. Florence Mall is owned and managed by Namdar Realty Group.

Air Tahoma Flight 185 was a scheduled cargo flight from Memphis to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport conducted by Air Tahoma as part of a contract to freight parcels for courier firm DHL. On August 13, 2004, the flight crashed during approach to landing just one mile short of the runway. The Convair 580, which is a twin engine turboprop, was destroyed upon impact. The first officer was killed and the captain received minor injuries.

The Florence Y'all Water Tower is a water tower owned by the city of Florence, Kentucky, United States. It stands between the Florence Mall and Interstate 75/Interstate 71, where it is seen by millions of interstate motorists annually. The tower, built in 1974 and initially painted with the words FLORENCE MALL in giant letters, became a regional landmark after the M was changed to Y' to address legal concerns. The water tower, which can hold about 1 million US gallons (3,800 m3), stands in Boone County in northern Kentucky, due south of Runway 18L/36R of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and between I-75/I-71 and Mall Circle Road, northeast of the mall.

Florence is a home rule-class city in Boone County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 31,946 at the 2020 census. It is the second largest city in Northern Kentucky, the eighth-largest city in Kentucky and the state's largest that is not a county seat. Florence is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

Sugartit (formerly known as Pleasant Ridge and later as Gunpowder in the 1920s) is a rural community in Boone County, Kentucky, United States. It was located at the intersection of U.S. Route 42 and Kentucky Route 237 between the cities of Florence and Union. Sugartit has been noted for its unusual place name.The community no longer exists and has mostly been annexed into Florence. The last surviving structure was the Sugartit Asphalt factory.

Beckfield College is a private for-profit college in Florence, Kentucky. It was founded in 1984 by Harry L. Beck.

WCVX (1160 AM) is a radio station licensed to Florence, Kentucky in the Cincinnati metropolitan area. WCVX is owned by the Christian Broadcasting System and it carries a Christian radio format. Its studios and offices are on West Seventh Street in Cincinnati and its transmitter is off Fowler Creek Road in Florence. WCVX broadcasts with a directional antenna with 5,000 watts in the daytime but at night it reduces power to 990 watts to protect KSL in Salt Lake City, the Class A Clear-channel station on 1160 kHz. WYLL in Chicago, Illinois is the only other full-time 50,000-watt station on 1160 AM, although it is a Class B station. Hosts heard on WCVX include Dr. Charles Stanley, Joyce Meyer and Jim Daly.

The 1955 Cincinnati mid-air collision occurred on January 12, 1955, when Trans World Airlines Flight 694 Martin 2-0-2 on takeoff from Boone County Airport (now the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport) collided in mid-air with a privately owned Douglas DC-3 that had entered the airport's control space without proper clearance. None of the occupants of either plane survived the collision.

The airport serves the Cincinnati tri-state area. The airport's code, CVG, is derived from the nearest city at the time of its opening, Covington, Kentucky. The airport covers an area of 7,700 acres (3,100 ha).Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport offers non-stop passenger service to over 50 destinations in North America and Europe, handling numerous domestic and international cargo flights every day. The airport is a cargo global hub for Amazon Air, Atlas Air, ABX Air, Kalitta Air, and DHL Aviation. The airport is currently the 6th busiest airport in the United States by cargo traffic and is the fastest-growing cargo airport in North America.

A Zantop Air Transport Douglas DC-4 was on its final approach to Greater Cincinnati Airport runway 18 (now runway 18C), when it clipped some trees and crashed into a wooded area north of the airport. This was the first of at least three aircraft on their final approach that failed to reach runway 18 at the Greater Cincinnati Airport, becoming victims of the area's hilly terrain with steep changes in elevation from the Ohio River, the others being American Airlines Flight 383 and TWA Flight 128.
