Walton, Kansas

Walton Rural Life Center was an agricultural charter elementary school in Walton, Kansas, United States, and operated by Newton USD 373 public school district. During the 2015–2016 school year, there were 210 students at Walton Rural Life Center. They taught students from kindergarten to 4th grade, and there were two classes for each grade. In 2023, the Newton Board of Education voted to close the school due to declining enrollment in the district.

The Warkentin House is a house in Newton, Kansas, United States. The home of Bernhard Warkentin and Wilhelmina Eisenmayer Warkentin, it was built between 1886 and 1887. It is listed on the Kansas Register of Historic Places and National Register of Historic Places as a splendid example of the Victorian period in American architecture and furnishings. The Victorian house offers a glimpse into the way the Warkentins lived, with 80 percent of the original furnishings remaining.

Newton station is a train station in Newton, Kansas, United States, served by Amtrak's Southwest Chief train. It is the nearest station to Kansas' largest city, Wichita. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway opened to Newton in 1930. The current station building was constructed in a Tudor Revival – modeled after William Shakespeare's house in Stratford-on-Avon – in 1929–30. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. In 2021, Amtrak proposed to extend the Heartland Flyer to Newton to connect with the Southwest Chief.
