Newton USD 373 is a public unified school district headquartered in Newton, Kansas, United States. The district includes the communities of Newton, North Newton, Walton, McLain and nearby rural areas.

The Carnegie Library in Newton, Kansas is a building from 1903. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.It was built as a two-story 51 by 62 feet (16 m × 19 m) building; a 30 feet (9.1 m) one-story addition was added later.

Newton station is a train station in Newton, Kansas, United States, served by Amtrak's Southwest Chief train. It is the nearest station to Kansas' largest city, Wichita. The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway opened to Newton in 1930. The current station building was constructed in a Tudor Revival – modeled after William Shakespeare's house in Stratford-on-Avon – in 1929–30. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. In 2021, Amtrak proposed to extend the Heartland Flyer to Newton to connect with the Southwest Chief.

Newton is a city in and the county seat of Harvey County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 18,602. Newton is located 25 miles (40 km) north of Wichita. The city of North Newton is located immediately north and exists as a separate political entity. Newton is located at the intersection of Interstate 135, U.S. Route 50, and U.S. Route 81 highways.

Fischer Field Stadium is the signature athletic field in Newton, Kansas, and is located in Athletic Park. The stadium is used for athletic events — including high school football and soccer (including the state's 8-man football championship), competitive leagues, and semi-pro football — concerts, Newton High School graduation and a variety of community events and festivals. The stadium is listed on both the Kansas Register and National Register of Historic Places. It can seat up to 5,000 people.

The Mennonite Settler is a 17-foot limestone statue in Newton, Kansas, honoring Mennonite farmers and their wheat heritage. The statue was crafted in 1942 by Topeka artist Max Nixon out of native Kansas limestone. It depicts a bearded Mennonite farmer with hat in hand, in an attitude of prayer. The sculpture rests on a mosaic tile base with the inscription "Commemorating entry into Kansas from Russia of Turkey Red Hard Wheat by Mennonites 1874." The statue commemorates the introduction from Russia of Turkey Red hard winter wheat by Mennonite settlers, which helped make Kansas the "breadbasket of America." The statue was jointly financed through a community fundraising drive and a Works Progress Administration (WPA) art project. The statue was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 and underwent an extensive three-year restoration that was completed in 2000. The mosaic tile base is about 10 feet (3.0 m) in diameter.

Newton Township is a township in Harvey County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2000 census, its population was 1,950.

Newton High School is a public high school in Newton, Kansas, United States operated by Newton USD 373 school district, and serves students of grades 9 to 12. It is located on a 90-acre (360,000 m2) campus with a Cedar-tree surrounded parking lot.

Bethel College is a private Christian college in North Newton, Kansas. It is affiliated with Mennonite Church USA.

Sand Creek Station Golf Course just outside Newton, Kansas, is a links-style 18-hole public golf course with a bent grass playing surface designed by architect Jeff Brauer. Unique features include an active railway running through the course, Sand Creek bordering four holes, and eleven custom ponds. A wooden cart bridge spans Sand Creek, and a concrete underpass allows carts to travel under the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks. A biking/walking path runs along the tracks from the course to Southwest 14th Street.

North Newton is a city in Harvey County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 1,814. It is located between the north side of the city of Newton (separate entity) and the south side of Interstate I-135. North Newton is home of Bethel College.

Thresher Stadium is a sport stadium in North Newton, Kansas, United States. The facility is primarily used by the Bethel College for college football and men's and women's soccer teams. The stadium is also used for local high school and other community events.
