Whiteley is a community of (planned) 6,500 homes in the county of Hampshire, England, near Fareham. The development straddles the boundary between two council districts: the Borough of Fareham to the south and east, and the city of Winchester to the north and west. It was developed in the mid 1980's, and is now expanding rapidly, due to the town plan for North Whiteley, which was approved by Winchester Council in 2018.

Swanwick () is a village in Hampshire, England, east of the River Hamble and north of the M27 motorway. The village is located within the borough of Fareham and is the site of the London Area Control Centre (LACC) and the London Terminal Control Centre (LTCC), part of National Air Traffic Services Air Traffic Control Centre, and Bursledon Brickworks, the last remaining example of a Victorian steam-powered brickworks. Swanwick has no real village centre and the only commercial premises of note is the Elm Tree Public House. Since the 1980s, the gradual spread of housing developments has meant that Swanwick has partly merged with the new development of Whiteley although the only direct vehicular access is via Yew Tree Drive (once a bus only route). Swanwick railway station on the West Coastway Line is approximately one mile south of the village and is nearer Park Gate than Swanwick. The village's "twin" Lower Swanwick is situated two miles west of the village on the edge of the River Hamble.

Curbridge is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Curdridge, in the Winchester district, in the county of Hampshire, England. In 1951 the parish had a population of 444.

Swanwick railway station is a railway station in Fareham, Hampshire, England. Despite its name, it is actually located in Park Gate, one mile south of Swanwick. The station opened on 2 September 1889, and was specially built for the local strawberry industry. For a short time each year, it was one of the busiest stations in the country. The station is near a small industrial estate between the residential areas of Locks Heath and Whiteley.

Upper Hamble Estuary and Woods is a 151.2-hectare (374-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Southampton in Hampshire. It is part of Solent and Southampton Water Ramsar site and Special Protection Area, and of Solent Maritime Special Area of Conservation. Part of the site is in Manor Farm Country Park, which is a Local Nature Reserve.This site comprises the upper estuary of the River Hamble, together with adjoining saltmarsh, reedswamp and ancient semi-natural woodland. The woods have a diverse ground flora and invertebrate fauna. There is also a narrow zone of mudflats, with large numbers of marine worms, crustaceans and molluscs, which provide food for birds.

Swanwick Lakes is a 35-hectare (86-acre) nature reserve in Swanwick in Hampshire. It is managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.Most of this site is woodland, and there are also meadows and lakes in former clay pits. The north-east meadow has many orchids and butterflies. There is also an educational facility for children to learn about the environment.

The London Area Control Centre (LACC) is an air traffic control centre based at Swanwick near Fareham in Hampshire, southern England. It is operated by National Air Traffic Services (NATS), starting operations on 27 January 2002, and handles aircraft over much of England and Wales. The Swanwick facility replaces that of the former site at West Drayton. LACC shares the Swanwick site with the London Terminal Control Centre (LTCC), which moved there in 2007.AC-based controllers provide air traffic services mainly within the London Flight Information Region (FIR). This airspace is split into five Local Area Groups (LAGs) which relate to the position of the airspace sector groups within the FIR. All sectors have the R/T callsign "London Control". Also within the AC Operations room sit the FIR Flight Information Service Officers (FISOs) who provide an information service to aircraft operating within the London FIR as a whole using the callsign "London Information". 'Swanwick Military' controllers are also based in the AC Operations room.

Fareham Community Hospital is a healthcare facility at Brook Lane in Sarisbury, Hampshire, England. It is managed by the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The Strawberry Trail is a 15-mile footpath through Hampshire, England The trail is part linear and part circular. The linear section connects Botley to Bursledon railway station via Manor Farm Country Park. The circular section is usually done in a clockwise direction. From Bursledon railway station the trail goes south closely following the River Hamble and through Hamble until it meets Southampton Water. The trail then turns right and follows the shoreline into Royal Victoria Country Park. The path exits the Country Park next to the tearooms and twists and turns along a short nature trail until it meets the Hamble Rail Trail. The path continues North along Hound Road then crosses farmland, turns right at a recreation ground, and returns to the railway station via the outskirts of Bursledon. There are numerous pay car parks in the area, however it is recommended that walkers use the free car park just off Mortimer Road near Botley High Street. In summer a ferry service operates between Hamble and Manor Farm Country Park. The rural parts of the trail are waymarked in the clockwise direction by metal and plastic disks found attached to wooden and metal posts, trees and street furniture. However, there are very few markers within the Royal Victoria Country Park and on the section that passes through the outskirts of Bursledon.

Botley is a historic village in Hampshire, England. The village was once described as "the most delightful village in the world" by 18th century journalist and radical politician William Cobbett. The village was developed as a natural crossing point for the River Hamble, and received its first market charter from Henry III in 1267. The village grew on the success of its mill, its coaching inns, and more recently strawberries. Botley today, reflects its heritage and retains its traditional charm. Visitors may walk the self guided Cobbett trail, stop for refreshments at the many excellent local venues, visit the individual shops in the Square or Botley Mills. However, Botley is also cited in extensive scenic countryside, close to Manor Farm, River Hamble Country Park and the River Hamble, the long distance Strawberry Trail, and the picturesque coast of the Solent at Hamble-le-Rice.

South Hampshire is a term used mainly to refer to the conurbation formed by the city of Portsmouth, city of Southampton and the non-metropolitan boroughs of Gosport, Fareham, Havant and Eastleigh in southern Hampshire, South East England. The area was estimated to have a population of over 1.5 million in 2013. It is the most populated part of South East England excluding London. The area is sometimes referred to as Solent City particularly in relation to local devolution, but the term is controversial.

Grace Dieu was the flagship of King Henry V of England and one of the largest ships of her time. Launched in 1418, she sailed on only one voyage and was subsequently laid up at anchor in the River Hamble. She burned in 1439 after being struck by lightning. The wreck is a Protected Wreck managed by Historic England.
