McKenzie Lake is a suburban neighbourhood in southeast Calgary, Alberta. The community was in development from the mid-1980s through to present. The area is bordered by Deerfoot Trail on the east, Stoney Trail on the south, Fish Creek Provincial Park on the west, and 130th Ave SE on the north. The community is most known for its private lake and island in the centre of the community. Multimillion-dollar homes can be seen along both the ridge and the lake.

Auburn Bay is a suburban residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the southeastern edge of the city, and is bounded by Seton Boulevard to the south, Deerfoot Trail to the west, 52 Street E to the east and Stoney Trail to the north. The South Health Campus and southeast Calgary hospital is located immediately to the south of the community. The Green Line of the CTrain will run along the community's eastern boundary, parallel to 52 Street. Auburn Bay has a Residents Association https://auburnbayra.ca/ and a Community Association https://www.auburnbayliving.ca/. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 12 councillor.A diverse community which is home to over 5400 houses. Auburn Bay Community is home to two schools Auburn Bay K-4 https://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/auburnbay/ & Prince of Peace K-9 https://cssd.ab.ca/schools/princeofpeace/, Future Catholic Elementary & Public Junior Highschool. 15 playgrounds, an off leash dog park, Auburn Station commercial mall, future home to LRT transit, walking/cycling trails, 2 baseball fields, 2 large soccer fields, 2 ponds and a lake.

McKenzie Towne is a master planned residential neighbourhood in the southeast of Calgary, Alberta being developed by Carma Developers LP (now Brookfield Residential Properties Inc.). The community is bordered on the west by Deerfoot Trail, on the south by Stoney Trail, on the east by 52 St. S.E., and to the north by the South Trail regional commercial centre along 130 Ave. S.E. McKenzie Towne boasts many recreational features, including: the McKenzie Towne Hall managed and operated by the staff and Board of Directors of the McKenzie Towne Council (which is the community's Residents' Association). Within the Hall: a gymnasium, meeting and banquet facilities, and a private outdoor park area. The Council offers recreational programming for children, youth, families adults and seniors, as well as facility rentals for events. The Council also runs community events and looks after the landscaping and maintenance of green spaces and amenities. The community also has a network of paved pathways, green spaces and parks; a fountain and splash park; an outdoor hockey rink and skate park and numerous ponds also complement McKenzie Towne. McKenzie Towne also contains one separate school board elementary school and a public elementary school.

The Sikome Aquatic Facility, commonly referred to as Sikome Lake, is a man-made lake in the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located in the southeast quadrant of the city, within the Fish Creek Provincial Park, and is part of the Bow River basin. It lies at an elevation of 1,005 m (3,297 ft) and has a surface of 0.4 km2 (40 ha; 99 acres).First opened in late summer 1978, it is a swimming area open during the summer as a public beach. Up to 20,000 swimmers a day visit the lake during summer week-ends. The beach is staffed by Alberta Provincial Parks aquatic staff. Until the mid-to-late 1980s, the lake was used as a skating rink in the Winter months. Now, during the winter the water is drained, and it takes three weeks to fill the lake every spring. A filtration system that chlorinates the water supply was implemented in 1991 at a cost of $1.8 million. For the 2004 season, the lake was closed to public due to construction. It has been closed before, in July 1990 and August 1998, due to excessive contamination from bird droppings and in Summer 2004 due to flooding. A fence was constructed in 2013 to increase public safety and control unwanted behaviour.

South Health Campus (SHC) is a large hospital in Calgary, in Alberta, Canada. It is administered by Alberta Health Services. The building was developed by Alberta Infrastructure, and the first phase was built at a cost of $1.31 billion. The South Health Campus was fully operational by 2016. It has the capacity to handle 800,000 ambulatory visits per year, and it performs approximately 2,500 births every year. It includes a 24-hour emergency department, an intensive care unit (ICU), as well as day surgery units. Services are provided for a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. The facility currently serves 200,000 outpatients annually.The entire facility (including planned future additions) has been designed for 2,400 full-time-equivalent staff, including 180 physicians, along with 644 inpatient beds and 11 operating rooms.In terms of physical infrastructure, the building exterior colour scheme is designed to reflect the landscape hallmarks of prairie, forest, and clear blue sky. This state-of-the-art concrete-and-steel complex has a floor area of one million square feet. Emergency power is provided by a set of ten diesel generators with total power output of 28 megawatts.

Seton is a suburban residential/commercial/institutional community under construction in southeast Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located directly south of Auburn Bay and east of Cranston. Its boundaries are presently Deerfoot Trail to the west, Seton Blvd. to the north, and an extension of 52 St. S.E. to the east. Its southern boundary is defined by a proposed unnamed arterial road. The community is currently represented on Calgary City Council by the Ward 12 councillor.Seton was established in 2018 however construction began on some amenities several years prior, when completed, will include a mixture of residential and business development, and will be served by a proposed southeast leg of the city's C-Train system, also known as the Green Line. Seton is home to the 44-acre (180,000 m2) South Health Campus, a major hospital for the Calgary Region, which opened in 2011.

Deer Run is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located in a bend of the Bow River, and is surrounded to the east and south by the Fish Creek Provincial Park. It is bounded to the north by North Deersaxon Circle and the community of Deer Ridge and to the west by Bow Bottom Trail. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1961 and Deer Run was established in 1978. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 14 councillor.

Joane Cardinal-Schubert High School (JCS) is a public high school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada operated by the Calgary Board of Education. It was founded in 2018 and the first year of attendance was 1129 students. It has approximately 1,800 students and 60 staff members. It is named after the artist Joane Cardinal-Schubert. The school's mascot is a raven.

Chaparral is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the southern edge of the city, south of the Stoney Trail. To the east it is bordered by the Bow River Valley, to the south by 194 Avenue SE, and to the west by Macleod Trail. It has three sub sections that are not officially recognized, Lake Chaparral, Chaparral Valley, and Chaparral Ridge. Chaparral was established in 1995, and named for the mediterranean climate biome. The centerpiece of the neighbourhood is a 32-acre (130,000 m2) artificial lake and a 21-acre (85,000 m2) park with two waterfalls. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 14 councillor, who is currently Peter Demong.

New Brighton is a master planned residential neighbourhood developed in the southeast of Calgary, Alberta. Located east of 52nd. Street SE and south of 130th Ave and McIvor Boulevard to the south. The community contains a variety of single family and multi-family homes as well as a private residents association recreation facility called the New Brighton Club. The facility contains a water park, hockey rink, tennis, banquet facilities and studio space with many programmed activities. The community was designed by Carma Developers LP. The community maintains active online forums for residents and for neighbourhood program activities i.e. there is an interactive community website.It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 12 councillor.

Legacy is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located along Calgary's southern boundary with Foothills County, east of Macleod Trail, south of the community of Walden, and west of the Bow River. The Hamlet of Heritage Pointe is located across the city boundary in the MD of Foothills No. 31. Legacy is located within Calgary City Council's Ward 14.

Calgary-South East (previously styled Calgary South East) is a provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta. It has existed twice, first from 1959 to 1963, and then re-created in 2010. The district is mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The current electoral district was created from a portion of Airdrie-Chestermere, Calgary-Hays and Calgary-Shaw. It contains the neighbourhoods of Auburn Bay, Cranston, Mahogany & Seton.
