Hoover-Timme House is a historic home located at Long Beach, LaPorte County, Indiana. It was designed by architect John Lloyd Wright and built in 1929. It is a three level house carved into a sand dune on the shore of Lake Michigan. The house is in a rambling Prairie School style with hipped and mansard roof forms. The house is sheathed in ashlar sandstone and stucco. Also contributing is the house site.: 3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Carroll Avenue is a railway station in Michigan City, Indiana, serving the South Shore Line commuter rail line. For reasons of road access and parking, it, rather than the 11th Street station (also located in Michigan City but in the middle of a public street), is the city's primary commuter station for South Shore Line service. Although Carroll Avenue is not the eastern terminus of the South Shore Line, most trains terminate or start at this station. The coach yard is located here, as well as NICTD's headquarters. In June 2009, NICTD officials announced their intention to close this station, on an unspecified future date, as part of their plan to revamp the street-running section of the line on 10th and 11th streets within Michigan City. The new alignment is slated for completion in May 2024.

It is a five level house located on the shore of Lake Michigan. The house is a blend of Prairie School and International Style architecture with hipped and pent roof forms. The house is sheathed in stucco and salmon colored brick. Also contributing is the house site with extensive stone terracing.: 3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The district encompasses 215 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in a predominantly residential section of Michigan City. It developed between about 1860 and 1963, and includes examples of Italianate, Greek Revival, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Washington Park is a historic public park and national historic district located on Lake Michigan at Michigan City, LaPorte County, Indiana. The park encompasses 13 contributing buildings, 3 contributing sites, 11 contributing structures, and 21 contributing objects, and includes the Michigan City Zoo. It was established in 1891 and later developed by the Works Progress Administration and its predecessors during the 1930s. Notable features include the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument (1896), former park headquarters building (1934), bandstand (1911), World War I doughboy monument (1926), tennis court (c. 1933), log picnic shelter (c. 1936), and four-story observation tower (1936).It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Washington Park Zoo is a zoo located in Washington Park, Michigan City, Indiana, which covers 15 acres (61,000 m2) on a hilly sand dune close to the southeastern tip of Lake Michigan. The park and zoo were listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.The zoo exhibits more than 220 animals of 90 species originating throughout the world. Under the zoo's new assessment and initiatives plan, the zoo is being modernized so animals are exhibited in natural settings, surrounded by botanical plantings. Among the exhibits are grizzly bears and Bengal tigers. The Castle building exhibits various educational species like fennec fox, corn snakes, and a living beehive. The Winged Wonders has a walk through aviary. The Farm exhibits miniature domestic horses, donkeys, pigs, and goats which may be fed by guests.

Michigan City Post Office is a historic post office building located at Michigan City, LaPorte County, Indiana. It was designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under James Knox Taylor and built in 1909. It is a one-story, Georgian Revival style brick and limestone building. It has a hipped roof behind a balustraded parapet and basement. A rear addition was built in 1926, and expanded in 1963. It housed a post office until 1973.: 5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It is located in the Franklin Street Commercial Historic District.
