John and Isabel Burnham House, also known as the Pagoda House, is a historic home located at Long Beach, LaPorte County, Indiana. It was designed by architect John Lloyd Wright and built in 1934. It is a five level house located on the shore of Lake Michigan. The house is a blend of Prairie School and International Style architecture with hipped and pent roof forms. The house is sheathed in stucco and salmon colored brick. Also contributing is the house site with extensive stone terracing.: 3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Hoover-Timme House is a historic home located at Long Beach, LaPorte County, Indiana. It was designed by architect John Lloyd Wright and built in 1929. It was designed by architect John Lloyd Wright and built in 1938. The house is constructed of 12 inch square clay tiles painted green and carved into a sand dune on the shore of Lake Michigan. The house has horizontal clapboard siding and is in the International Style of architecture. The house has three levels and a carport. Michigan City is a city in LaPorte County, Indiana, United States. It is the largest of the two principal cities of the Michigan City-La Porte, Indiana Metropolitan statistical area, which is included in the Chicago-Naperville-Michigan City Combined statistical area. In the Northwest indiana region known to locals as "The Region" and Michiana, the city is about 45 miles (72 km) east of Chicago, regarded as a suburb due to its popularity among Chicagoans as a tourism town and ease of affordable access via South Shore Line passenger train. Michigan city is also 40 miles (64 km) west of South Bend. It had a population of 31,479 at the 2010 census. Michigan City is noted for both its proximity to Indiana Dunes National Park and for bordering Lake Michigan. It receives a fair amount of tourism during the summer, especially by residents of Chicago and nearby cities in Northern Indiana. The lighthouse is a notable symbol of the city and is incorporated in its official seal and formerly in the heading of its former newspaper, The News-Dispatch.

Michiana Shores is a town in Springfield and Michigan townships, LaPorte County, Indiana, United States. The population was 313 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Michigan City, Indiana-La Porte, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. Michiana Shores is located in northwesternmost Springfield Township, and is the township's sole incorporated community. Michiana Shores takes its name from the Michiana region along the Michigan-Indiana border.

Carroll Avenue is a railway station in Michigan City, Indiana, serving the South Shore Line commuter rail line. For reasons of road access and parking, it, rather than the 11th Street station (also located in Michigan City but in the middle of a public street), is the city's primary commuter station for South Shore Line service. Although Carroll Avenue is not the eastern terminus of the South Shore Line, most trains terminate or start at this station. The coach yard is located here, as well as NICTD's headquarters. In June 2009, NICTD officials announced their intention to close this station, on an unspecified future date, as part of their plan to revamp the street-running section of the line on 10th and 11th streets within Michigan City. The new alignment is slated for completion in May 2024.

Michiana () is a village in New Buffalo Township, Berrien County in the extreme southwest corner of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 182 at the 2010 census. Michiana is also the commonly used term to describe the southwest Michigan and northwest Indiana region, hence the name "Mich-iana".
