Pineridge is a neighbourhood in Northeast Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and is one of four neighbourhoods that make up what is called the Properties, along with Whitehorn, Temple, and Rundle. It is bordered by 32 Ave NE to the north, 52nd Street NE to the west, 16th Avenue NE (Highway 1 – the Trans Canada Highway) to the south, and 68th Street NE to the east.

Lester B. Pearson High School is a public senior high school located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada administered by the Calgary Board of Education. The school is named for Nobel Laureate and Canadian Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson. The school has offered the French Immersion program since 2003 and in the following year of September 2004, Lester B. Pearson became a fully accredited International Baccalaureate World School Lester B. Pearson High School is one of the five schools in Calgary to be offering the International Baccalaureate Programme in English, the school also offers opportunities to earn a combination of French Immersion and IB course certificates.

Penbrooke Meadows is a residential neighbourhood in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by Memorial Drive to the north, 68 Street E to the east, 52 Street E to the west and 17 Avenue SE to the south and is part of the International Avenue Business Revitalization Zone. The area was annexed by Calgary in 1961 and Penbrooke Meadows was established in 1969. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 9 councillor.The postal code in this area is T2A.

The Village Square Leisure Centre is a 5.5 acre indoor leisure centre situated in the Pineridge community of north east Calgary, Alberta. The multipurpose recreational facility was built at the same time (although additions and redesigns have been made since) as the surrounding neighbourhood and is one of two leisure centres owned and operated by the City of Calgary. Attached to the leisure centre are a library, high-school, shopping centre, food court, and small professional centre. A skywalk pedestrian walkway similar to the +15 connects the leisure centre to the neighbouring high school, Lester B. Pearson. The walkway is used by staff and by day camp participants from the leisure centre who take advantage of the unused school gymnasiums in the summer.

East Calgary is a former village in Alberta, Canada that is now within the City of Calgary. Located on the north side of 17 Avenue SE (Highway 1A) between 60 Street SE and 84 Street SE, East Calgary held village status for just over three years between 1916 and 1919.

Marlborough is a residential neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by the 16 Avenue NE (Trans-Canada Highway) to the north, 52 Street NE to the east, Memorial Drive to the south and 36 Street NE to the west. The community is served by the Marlborough station of the C-Train LRT system, and Marlborough Mall is located in the southwest corner of the neighbourhood. Marlborough was established in 1967, and was named after Marlborough, England. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 10 councillor.The community is very diverse and has residents from a variety of cultural backgrounds. There is a significantly large Black, Filipino, Arab and Chinese population in the neighbourhood. The postal code in this area is T2A.

Abbeydale is a neighbourhood in the northeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bordered to the north by Trans-Canada Highway, to the east by Stoney Trail, to the south by Canadian National Railway tracks and to the west by 68 Street E. Abbeydale was annexed by the City of Calgary in 1976.

Red Carpet is a community in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located at the eastern edge of the city, between the CN tracks, 17 Avenue SE and 68 Street SE. Elliston Park and Elliston Lake, the site of GlobalFest fireworks, are located immediately south of the community.

The Hub Oil explosion was an industrial accident that took place on August 9, 1999 in Calgary, Alberta and caused two fatalities. The Hub Oil refinery was located at 5805 17 Avenue SE, near the eastern edge of Calgary and immediately south of the residential community of Penbrooke.

Forest Heights is a residential community in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Forest Heights is represented under Ward 9. Forest Heights is not to be confused with Forest Lawn, which sits directly to the south of the community. These two communities are listed as distinct identities from one-another by the City of Calgary. The community is apart of an group of communities known as the Greater Forest Lawn area, with the term coming from the former town of Forest Lawn which used to exist in the area prior to being annexed by the city of Calgary. Other communities in this area include Forest Lawn, Southview, Penbrooke Meadows, Dover, and Red Carpet.

Calgary-East (formally styled Calgary East) is a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada. The district is mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. Calgary-East has existed twice, the first incarnation was created from Calgary North East in the redistribution of 1963. The riding was abolished in 1971 when it became Calgary-McCall. The return of Calgary-East happened in the 1993 boundary redistribution when Calgary-Forest Lawn and half of Calgary-Millican were merged. This riding covers the central north east portion of Calgary and contains the neighbourhoods of Vista Heights, Rundle, Marlborough and Mayland Heights. Three MLAs have held this riding to date. The first Calgary East was represented by Social Credit MLA Albert Ludwig and the second Calgary-East solidly supported Progressive Conservative candidate Moe Amery, until the 2015 Alberta election when the riding was won by NDP candidate Robyn Luff.
