Belconnen (postcode: 2617) is the most inner suburb of the larger district of Belconnen in Canberra, Australia. Sharing its name with the larger district which encapsulates it, the suburb is surrounded with well developed infrastructure, and planning which allows it sunset views from the Brindabellas on its western side. The suburb contains important amenities for the District of Belconnen including the Belconnen Town Centre and Lake Ginninderra as well as its own well populated residential areas. It is bounded by Ginninderra Drive, Aikman Drive, Eastern Valley Way, Belconnen Way and Coulter Drive. It has a number of parks such as Margaret Timpson Park, (within the town centre) Eastern Valley Oval (on the lower slope of Emu Ridge) and on the foreshores of Lake Ginninberra, Diddams Close Park and John Knight Memorial Park. The name Belconnen has been associated with the district since the days of the early settlers. In the city of Canberra, suburbs are assigned street names that reflect a distinct sub-group of cultural or historical Australian significance. The streets in the suburb of Belconnen are named for Lord Mayors and Mayors.

Westfield Belconnen, also known colloquially as Belconnen (or Belco) Mall, is managed by Scentre Group and located in the Canberra suburb of Belconnen, Australia. The shopping centre is the largest in Canberra, featuring around 270 specialty stores.

Belconnen () is a district in the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. The district is subdivided into 27 divisions (suburbs), sections and blocks. As at the 2021 census, the district had a population of 106,061 people; and was the most populous district within the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). Belconnen is situated approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) to the north-west of the central business district of Canberra, and surrounds an artificially created, ornamental lake, Lake Ginninderra. Lake Ginninderra was made possible by building a dam at an elbow of Ginninderra Creek. Exiting the lake, via a simple overflow, Ginninderra Creek continues, and runs north-west to its confluence with the Murrumbidgee River just beyond the north-western ACT border.

Belconnen Town Centre is the town centre of the district of Belconnen in the Australian Capital Territory. Is located on the south-western shore of Lake Ginninderra. Belconnen Town Centre contains several Federal and Territory government departments, as well as retail and commercial facilities. A large Westfield shopping mall is located within the centre as are many other smaller retail outlets including the Belconnen fresh food markets. The centre also contains several car dealerships. Residential apartments are located within the centre as well as in the surrounding parts of the suburb of Belconnen. The centre also contains a public library, health centre, town park, community facilities and a bus interchange. Belconnen Town Centre also offers events to local residentsGovernment departments are housed in office buildings including the Benjamin Offices and award-winning Cameron Offices - an example of Brutalist architecture. These include the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

The Belconnen Library is the primary public library servicing the Belconnen district, one of ten libraries in the Libraries ACT network, and one of two in Belconnen, the other being Kippax Library.

Belconnen Remand Centre, or BRC, was an Australian remand custody facility located in Belconnen, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The centre opened in 1976 and closed in 2009. At times, it held a small number of illegal immigrants.When it was first established in 1976, the Belconnen Remand Centre was intended to hold around 16 people. The centre's construction had been considered and approved by Prime Minister Gough Whitlam's Cabinet in 1973.Four men escaped the remand centre in July 1988 through a roof in the exercise yard.In December 1992, then ACT Attorney-General Terry Connolly flagged that the remand centre should be replaced, due to its outmoded architecture and the high operating costs identified at the time.The ACT Government made the decision to build a new prison, the Alexander Maconochie Centre, and to decommission the Belconnen Remand Centre, in 2003.A human rights audit of the operation of the Belconnen Remand Centre and other ACT correctional facilities was conducted in 2007, identifying issues to be avoided in the new Alexander Maconochie Centre, and matters to be improved in the meantime prior to the new prison's establishment.

The Cameron Offices are a series of former government offices commissioned by the National Capital Development Commission and designed by John Andrews in the Brutalist structuralism style of architecture. The offices were constructed between 1970 and 1976 and partially demolished during 2007–08. They are located in the Belconnen Town Centre, in the district of Belconnen, located in Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.During their thirty-year life cycle, the Cameron Offices primary occupant was the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Three wings (3, 4 and 5) and the pedestrian bridge, from the initial nine wings, remain. Wing 3 was previously occupied by the government agency responsible for superannuation administration, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation. Wings 4 and 5 have been converted from government offices into student accommodation for the nearby University of Canberra.

University of Canberra Senior Secondary College Lake Ginninderra, formerly known as Lake Ginninderra College until 2011, is a public secondary college for students in Years 11 and 12. It is located in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, situated on the lakefront of Lake Ginninderra.

Bruce is a suburb of the Belconnen district of Canberra, that is located within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The suburb was gazetted on 6 June 1968 and named for The Viscount Bruce of Melbourne (1883–1967), the eighth Prime Minister of Australia and the first Chancellor of the Australian National University.

The Big Powerful Owl is a sculpture 8 m (26 ft) tall, designed by Bruce Armstrong and located in the Belconnen District of Canberra, Australia; it depicts a powerful owl (Ninox strenua).Built in 2011, it is one of the numerous Australia's big things, with this being only one of many in the ACT.

The University of Canberra Library is the principal Library of the University of Canberra, located in Bruce, Australian Capital Territory. The Library is located in Building 8, University main campus.

87.8 UCFM (ACMA callsign: 1A12) is an independent student radio station transmitting from the campus of the University of Canberra. It broadcasts a professionally consulted College Radio niche music format – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a mix of news and current affairs. The radio station's studios are located within the lower level of "The Hub" complex on the university's Bruce campus, in Australia's capital city – Canberra. UCFM transmits on FM 87.8 MHz across the District of Belconnen and North Canberra. It also streams its on-air program continuously online through links located on its website, Facebook page and TuneIn. Launched in 1994 as CUE FM by the University of Canberra Union (UCU) – the original broadcast licence holder – all controlling interests (including the licence) have since been passed to the current UCFM Board. As an autonomous, non-academic student service, UCFM is therefore not listed as a university club or society. It receives no funding from either the UCU, nor the University of Canberra and covers operating costs by broadcasting a minimal amount of non-intrusive advertising, permitted under its licence conditions, as well as sponsorship, donations and membership fees. 87.8 UCFM positions itself on-air as "Canberra's Alternative" taking pride in its point of difference programming to its 18 to 40-year-old listeners with a non-stop, blend of Top 40 Pop/ Indie / Alternative music. The station is a registered non-profit association overseen by its board, management team and a dedicated group of student and alumni volunteer members. Past and present UC students may become members of UCFM and can then be involved in all areas of the radio station, including as on-air presenters of its music format. One of its main purposes on campus is as a learning tool for students to assists members to make the important step from study into a professional media career post graduation. In recent years UCFM volunteers, many with considerable radio industry experience have totally rebuilt the station's studios, transmitting equipment and on-air content extending its popularity to include many Canberra listeners outside the university, and online. External listeners, not associated with the university also have the ability to become UCFM 'Supporter' members. On 10 August 2014, UCFM celebrated its 20th year of broadcasting.
