North Carolina Supreme Court

The North Carolina State Capitol is the former seat of the legislature of the U.S. state of North Carolina which housed all of the state's government until 1888. The Supreme Court and State Library moved into a separate building in 1888, and the General Assembly moved into the State Legislative Building in 1963. Today, the governor and his immediate staff occupy offices on the first floor of the Capitol.

The Capitol Area Historic District is a national historic district located at Raleigh, North Carolina. The district encompasses 25 contributing buildings and was developed after 1792. The district includes notable examples of Classical Revival and Late Gothic Revival style architecture. Located in the district are the following separately listed buildings: Agriculture Building, at 2 W. Edenton St. Church of the Good Shepherd at 121 Hillsborough St Christ Episcopal Church, at 120 E. Edenton St. Richard B. Haywood House, at 127 E. Edenton St. Haywood Hall, at 211 New Bern Pl., North Carolina State Capitol, 1 E Edenton St. Raleigh Water Tower, 115 W. Morgan St. State Bank of North Carolina, at 123 New Bern Pl. Sacred Heart Church at 219 W Edenton St. White-Holman House, New Bern Ave. All Saints Chapel, at 110 S. East St.Other notable buildings include the First Baptist Church (1859), Supreme Court and State Library Building (1888), Ruffin Building (1913), Revenue Building (1927), Education Building (1938, 1947), Justice Building (1939-1940), Highway Building (1950), Dr. Andrew Watson Goodwin House, and Montgomery House (1906).It is also one of six Historic Overlay Districts in Raleigh. It was listed in 1978 on the National Register of Historic Places.

A statue of Thomas Ruffin was installed in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The memorial was removed in July 2020.

The North Carolina State House was built from 1792 to 1796 as the state capitol for North Carolina. It was located at Union Square in the state capital, Raleigh, in Wake County. The building was extensively renovated in the neoclassical style by William Nichols, the state architect, from 1820 to 1824. On December 24, 1821, the statue of George Washington by Antonio Canova was displayed in the rotunda. Both were destroyed by fire in 1831.

The Monument to North Carolina Women of the Confederacy was installed in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States in 1914. It was located in the surrounds of the North Carolina State Capitol, until its removal on June 21, 2020, during the protests following the murder of George Floyd.

Wells Fargo Capitol Center (formerly Wachovia Capitol Center and First Union Capitol Center) is a 30-story 121.92 m high-rise skyscraper at 150 Fayetteville Street in Raleigh, North Carolina with 544,482 square feet (50,584.0 m2) of space. Completed in 1990, it was one of the downtown Raleigh's two tallest buildings for nearly twenty years, and is currently third tallest.

Christ Episcopal Church, also known as Christ Church on Capitol Square, is an Episcopal church at 120 East Edenton Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built in 1848–53 to a design by Richard Upjohn, it is one of the first Gothic Revival churches in the American South. The church was built for a parish established in 1821; its minister is the Rev. James P. Adams. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.

First Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located at the corner of Morgan and Salisbury Streets in downtown Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina, United States. The church was established in a meeting of Presbyterians at the North Carolina State House (predecessor of the North Carolina State Capitol) on Jan. 21, 1816. The congregation purchased land at the present location and erected a brick church building that opened its doors on February 7, 1818. The church served as the site for the State Constitutional Convention of 1835 and as the meeting place for the North Carolina Supreme Court for several years.That original structure was torn down and a new church building completed in 1900. It was designed in the Romanesque Revival style. The initial design was by architect A.G. Bauer, but Bauer's health problems caused the project to be turned over to architects Charles E. Cassell and Charles Pearson. The sanctuary has been extensively remodeled twice, in 1955 and 2012.

The Fayetteville Street Historic District in Raleigh, North Carolina is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The District includes the 100–400 blocks of Fayetteville Street, the 00–100 blocks of the south side of West Hargett Street, the 00 block of the north side of West Martin Street, and the 100–400 blocks of South Salisbury Street.The District, composed mostly of commercial establishments, is home to eleven buildings listed on the NRHP. They include: Masonic Temple Building, 133 Fayetteville St. Briggs Hardware Building, 220 Fayetteville St. Lumsden-Boone Building, 226 Fayetteville St. Mahler Building, 228 Fayetteville St. Carolina Trust Building, 230 Fayetteville St. Federal Building, 314 Fayetteville St. Sir Walter Raleigh Hotel, 400 Fayetteville St. Raleigh Bank and Trust Company Building, 5 W. Hargett St. Odd Fellows Building, 19 W. Hargett St. McLellan's Five and Dime Annex, 14 W. Martin St. Capital Club Building, 16 W. Martin St.

White-Holman House is a historic home located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1798, and is a two-story, three-bay, frame dwelling with a two-story wing and one-story rear shed addition. It is sheathed in weatherboard and has a side-hall plan. It was built by William White (1762–1811), North Carolina Secretary of State, 1798–1811. The house was moved to its present location in April 1986.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It is located in the Capitol Area Historic District.

The Agriculture Building is a historic state government office building located at Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built between 1921 and 1923, and is a five-story, Classical Revival. It is sheathed in warm yellow stone, with massive, ashlar veneer, on the ground floor. An addition was built in the 1950s, giving the building an "L"-shape.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The Agriculture Building is a Raleigh Historic Landmark and located in the Capitol Area Historic District.
