The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts, based in Stone Mountain, Georgia, was a performing arts center supported through the Shakur Family Foundation. The Shakur Center's mission was to provide opportunities for young people through the arts, and offered programs such as drama, dance, and creative writing classes. The organization also ran a Performing Arts Day Camp for youth ages twelve to eighteen. The center, located off Memorial Drive, was named in honor of the late American hip hop artist Tupac Amaru Shakur, and was founded by his mother Afeni Shakur.

Stone Mountain High School is a college preparatory and public high school located in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, near Stone Mountain and in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

James R. Hallford Stadium is a football stadium in Clarkston, Georgia. Until 1999 it was called DeKalb Memorial Stadium. The stadium holds 15,000 spectators and is currently used by two DeKalb County high schools. The stadium is also used by all DeKalb County high school football teams for all home state football playoff games as this is the largest stadium and the only stadium with bleachers on both sides of the field in the DeKalb County School District. The GHSA held football championship games here in 1970, 1972, 1973, 1993, and 1995. On August 2, 1981, the Atlanta Chiefs of the North American Soccer League played a regular season home game against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, drawing 14,437 fans. It was the largest home crowd for the 1979–81 iteration of the Chiefs franchise. There was even talk that they might move there for the following season, but they folded 26 days later after being eliminated from the playoffs. The following year it was the home stadium of Georgia Generals of the American Soccer League, and two decades later the Atlanta Silverbacks of the A-League called it home until they moved to the RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium in 2004.

Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC) is a technical college based in Clarkston, Georgia. It is part of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and provides education for a three-county service area, mostly in the metro Atlanta area. The school's service area includes Dekalb, Rockdale, and Newton counties. GPTC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award associate degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit. Many of the school's individual technical programs are also accredited by their respective accreditation organizations. The College also offers free Adult Education courses for GED and HiSet test preparation and English as Second Language programming. Its Economic Development and Continuing Education division provides customized business and industry training to strengthen the workforce pipeline in Metro Atlanta.

Perimeter College at Georgia State University is a college of Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia Perimeter College was originally a public community college founded by an Atlanta area county board of education before merging with Georgia State University in 2016 to create one of the largest universities in the United States with over 50,000 students. The Perimeter College (PC) campuses became components of Georgia State University, still maintaining their own mission, degrees, and admittance requirements, separate from those of the main campus. Before merging with GSU, PC served metro Atlanta with five campus locations and offered more than 40 programs of study, including Arts, Music, Theatre, Nursing, Business Administration, Education, Dental Hygiene, Criminal Justice, and Sign Language Interpreting.

Indian Creek is a train station in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, the eastern terminus of the Blue Line of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It has an island platform with one track on each side of the platform. This station opened in June 1993. As the eastern terminus for the Blue Line, it primarily serves commuters who take advantage of the free daily parking and ride into the city of Atlanta. Located just outside "The Perimeter" Interstate 285, it mainly serves the City of Lithonia, The newly incorporated City of Stonecrest, as well as communities in: The City of Stone Mountain, and unincorporated communities in: Redan, Stone Mountain and Decatur. Bus service is provided at this station to: The City of Lithonia, The Mall at Stonecrest, Goldsmith Park & Ride, East Dekalb Health Center, Emory-Hillandale Hospital, East Lake Golf Course, Georgia State University, The Beltline and The City of Stone Mountain.

DeKalb Academy of Technology and Environment (DATE) is a charter school located at 1492 Kelton Drive in Stone Mountain, Georgia, United States. The school has about 800 students in kindergarten through eighth grades (as of the 2017-2018 school year).In October 2008, Kathy Cox recognized the school as a top 10 school in Georgia for math and science. The school has the vision to be recognized as one of the top 10 charter schools in the nation. DATE was named by the Know Magazine Education Guide as being Metro Atlanta's Best Public School for 8th Grade in DeKalb County. DATE's 8th grade class ranked #1 in Reading and #9 in math on the GCRCT. DeKalb Academy of Technology and Environment Elementary and Middle Charter Schools was featured in the book The Places and Faces of DeKalb County Georgia, highlighting its academic success, environmental and technology focus, and parental participation. DATE was selected to have a playground built by KABOOM and sponsored by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. DATE students outperformed elementary and middle school students collectively in the DeKalb County School District and State Technology Fair. The school is accredited by AdvancED.

Atlanta Area School for the Deaf (AASD) is a state-operated K-12 public school in Clarkston, Georgia. It provides full-day instructional services to infants, children, and youth who are deaf, including persons with multiple handicaps. The classroom programs range from preschool through twelfth grade. Students experience a range of academic, vocational, and social opportunities.It is not a part of any school district.

Clarkston is a city in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 7,554 as of the 2010 census.The city is noted for its ethnic diversity, and is often referred to as "the most diverse square mile in America" and "the Ellis Island of the South." In the 1990s, refugee resettlement programs identified Clarkston as a good fit for displaced persons of many backgrounds. The rental market was open, residents were moving farther out from the Atlanta urban core, and Clarkston was the last stop on a transit line into the city. Stone Mountain is a city in DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The population was 5,802 according to the 2010 US Census. Stone Mountain is in the eastern part of DeKalb County and is a suburb of Atlanta that encompasses nearly 1.7 square miles. It lies near and touches the western base of the geological formation Stone Mountain. Locals often call the city "Stone Mountain Village" to distinguish it from the larger unincorporated area traditionally considered Stone Mountain and Stone Mountain Park.
