Freeport High School is a public high school in Freeport, Walton County, Florida, United States. It is a part of the Walton County School District. The school's mascot is the Bulldog. The school colors are orange and blue.

Portland is a community located west of Freeport, Florida and east of Basin Bayou and the former settlement of Pensarosa. The Portland Community Center is commonly used as a voting location for Precinct 420 of Walton County.

The Choctawhatchee River is a 141-mile-long (227 km) river in the southern United States, flowing through southeast Alabama and the Panhandle of Florida before emptying into Choctawhatchee Bay in Okaloosa and Walton counties. Eglin AFB Site C-6 is a United States Space Force radar station which houses the AN/FPS-85 phased array radar, associated computer processing system(s), and radar control equipment designed and constructed for the U. S. Air Force by the Bendix Communications Division, Bendix Corporation. Commencing operations in 1969, the AN/FPS-85 was the first large phased array radar. The entire radar/computer system is located at a receiver/transmitter building and is supported by the site's power plant, fire station, 2 water wells (for 128 people), and other infrastructure for the system. As part of the US Space Force's Space Surveillance Network its mission is to detect and track spacecraft and other manmade objects in Earth orbit for the Combined Space Operations Center satellite catalogue. With a peak radiated power of 32 megawatts the Space Force claims it is the most powerful radar in the world, and can track a basketball-sized object up to 22,000 nautical miles (41,000 km) from Earth.

Walton County is a county located on the Emerald Coast in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Florida, with its southern border on the Gulf of Mexico. As of the 2020 census, the population was 75,305. Its county seat is DeFuniak Springs. The county is home to the highest natural point in Florida: Britton Hill, at 345 feet (105 m). Walton County is included in the Crestview–Fort Walton Beach–Destin Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Eden Gardens State Park is a 163 acres (0.66 km2) Florida State Park and historic site located in Point Washington, south of Freeport, off U.S. 98 on CR 395, in northwestern Florida at 181 Eden Gardens Road (CR 395) in Santa Rosa Beach. The park is centered on the Wesley House, a two-story mansion virtually surrounded by white columns and verandas. The house is notable for its furnishings, especially examples of late 18th century French furniture. The house was also used as the setting of the 1972 horror film Frogs. The Wesley House was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Eden Mansion on July 20, 2021. The site has various gardens, numerous large, old southern live oak trees, and frontage on Tucker Bayou. The park opens daily at 8:00 am and closes at sunset. An entry fee is required.

Point Washington is an unincorporated community in Walton County, Florida, United States. Its zip code is: 32459. The area is home to Eden Gardens State Park. The park is located south of Freeport by U.S. 98. The community developed around a sawmill. Point Washington State Forest was purchased under Florida's Conservation and Recreation Lands (CARL) program in 1992. Using an ecosystem management approach, the Florida Forest Service provides for multiple uses of the forest resources. The forest is managed for timber, wildlife, outdoor recreation and ecological restoration. Point Washington is widely used for hunting, off-road bicycling, and hiking. On the area are several paved roads and numerous forest roads. This area is a site on the Great Florida Birding Trail.

Santa Rosa Beach is an unincorporated community in Walton County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Fort Walton Beach-Crestview-Destin, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Grayton Beach State Park is a Florida State Park located between Panama City Beach and Destin, near the unincorporated area of Grayton Beach, on CR 30A, in northwestern Florida. Its sister park is Deer Lake State Park. The 2,200 acres (9 km2) of land for the park was obtained from a lease from the Florida Board of Education in 1964 and opened in 1968. A separate unit of the park located one mile (1.6 km) west of the main park offers duplex cabins for rent and also has beach access.

Grayton Beach is a small, historic beach village on the Florida Panhandle Gulf coast halfway between Destin and Panama City in Walton County and adjacent to Grayton Beach State Park. Collectively, the area is known as the “Beaches of South Walton", with South Walton referring to the southern portion of Walton County below the Choctawhatchee Bay.

WaterColor is an unincorporated master-planned community located in Walton County, Florida, United States, between Grayton Beach and Seaside. The St. Joe Company has owned the land since 1927. The Seaside Post Office is a prominent building located in the Central Square of Seaside, Florida. The building was constructed in 1985. In 2018 it was relocated to a different part of the Central Square. It is currently an active post office. Seaside's downtown area is built around the post office due to it being a local landmark. The post office serves as a popular tourist attraction in Seaside.
