Jupiter Inlet Colony, Florida

The Jupiter Inlet Light is located in Jupiter, Florida, on the north side of the Jupiter Inlet. The site for the lighthouse was chosen in 1853. It is located between Cape Canaveral Light and Hillsboro Inlet Light. The lighthouse was designed by then Lieutenant George G. Meade of the Bureau of Topographical Engineers. Meade's design was subsequently modified by Lieutenant William Raynolds. The Jupiter Inlet silted shut in 1854, forcing all building supplies to be shipped in light boats down the Indian River. Work was interrupted from 1856 to 1858 by the Third Seminole War. The lighthouse was completed under the supervision of Captain Edward A. Yorke in 1860 at a cost of more than $60,000.The lighthouse was built on a hill once thought to be an Indian shell mound or midden (and sometimes falsely rumored to be a burial mound), but which is now determined to be a natural parabolic sand dune. The top of the 105-foot (32 m) tower is 153 feet (47 m) above sea level. The light can be seen 24 nautical miles (44 km; 28 mi) at sea. The lighthouse structure is brick with double masonry walls. The outer wall is conical, tapering from 31.5 inches (800 mm) (eight bricks thick) at ground level to 18 inches (460 mm) (three bricks thick) at base of lantern. The inner wall is cylindrical and two bricks thick throughout. Circumference at base is about 65 feet (20 m) and at the top about 43 feet (13 m). The lighthouse was painted red in 1910 to cover discoloration caused by humidity. Hurricane Jeanne in 2004 sandblasted the paint from the upper portion of the tower, and the tower was repainted using a potassium silicate mineral coating.

The Jupiter Inlet Historic and Archeological Site is an archaeological site in Jupiter, Florida. It is located off A1A in the area of DuBois Park. An ancient shell midden built by the Jaega people, it was the site of the village of Hobe (or Jobe in Spanish orthography), which was later conflated with Jove and inspired the name of the town of Jupiter, Florida, where it is located. On November 5, 1985, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum, which also housed the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT), was located in Jupiter, Florida, the hometown of the actor Burt Reynolds (1936-2018). The museum displayed memorabilia from Reynolds' movies, and was billed as "Florida’s largest celebrity museum". It also offered filmmaking and acting classes, some taught by Reynolds himself.The museum opened in 2004, when Reynolds transferred memorabilia from his nearby home. In 2012 the museum was vacated. After it closed, there were proposals to build a new museum at nearby Burt Reynolds Park. But funds could not be raised, and Reynolds sold parts of the collection.

Coral Cove Park is a waterfront park located in Tequesta, Florida, right outside the city of Jupiter at 19450 State Road 707. The park is beside the Atlantic Ocean, near the Indian River and is managed by Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation.The park, which is almost 15 acres, includes approximately 2,610 feet of beach frontage (most of which is guarded) and 600 feet of intracoastal waterway frontage. The most prominent feature of the beach is the natural limestone, which is part of the Atlantic Coastal Ridge. These rocks, as well as the coral reefs, are inhabited by marine wildlife, including fish, sea turtles, eels, sharks and marine worms.

Tequesta is an incorporated village in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It is the northernmost municipality in the Miami metropolitan area, which according to the 2020 United States Census, had a total population of 6,138,333 South Florida residents. As of 2020, the US Census had the village's total at 6,158 of the population.

Blowing Rocks Preserve is an environmental preserve on Jupiter Island in Hobe Sound, Martin County, Florida, USA. It is owned by The Nature Conservancy. It contains the largest Anastasia limestone outcropping on the state's east coast. Breaking waves spray plumes of water through erosion holes; the spray can reach heights of 50 feet (15 m). This distinctive spectacle thus earned the limestone outcrop's name. The limestone outcropping also encompasses coquina shells, crustaceans, and sand. The preserve also features several coastal ecotones, including maritime hammocks, mangrove wetlands, and beach dunes. Common native species include sea grapes, gumbo limbo, and Sabal palms. Invasive exotic plants are removed in order to preserve indigenous flora. The preserve includes an educational center, native plant nursery, boardwalk, oceanside path, and a butterfly garden. The Hawley Education Center features rotating natural history and art exhibits, and offers environmental education classes and workshops. A boardwalk along the Indian River Lagoon contains interpretive signs about the plants, wildlife and area environment.

Old Jupiter School (aka Jupiter Elementary School, Historic Jupiter School) is a historic landmark located in Jupiter, Florida. The school was constructed in 1927 to serve approximately 100 white-only students and served as the area's primary school until 1965.The school is owned and managed by the Palm Beach County School Board, which restored the interior of the building in 2006 at a cost of $6.4 million. The county continues to discuss more renovations in the future.The building was designed by architect William Manly King, who designed all Palm Beach County schools built in the 1920s. The facility is architecturally described as a Mediterranean Revival.

The Loxahatchee River (Seminole for river of turtles) is a 7.6 mile river near the southeast coast of Florida. It is a National Wild and Scenic River, one of only two in the state, and received its federal designation on May 17, 1985. The source of the Loxahatchee River is in Riverbend Park on the south side of Indiantown Road about 1.5 miles west of I-95 and Florida's Turnpike in Jupiter, Florida. The Loxahatchee River flows out of the Jupiter Inlet and into the Atlantic Ocean. This river was the inspiration for Florida film producer Elam Stoltzfus' 2005 project Our Signature: the Wild and Scenic Loxahatchee River, a film done in conjunction with the Loxahatchee River Preservation Initiative.Launching points for canoe and kayak trips on the river are accessible at Riverbend Park and at Jonathan Dickinson State Park The 1930s pioneer homestead of Trapper Nelson lies along the river in a section that runs through Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

Jupiter Ridge Natural Area is a 271-acre (110 ha) area of protected land in Jupiter, Florida, in Palm Beach County. It is located at 1800 South U.S. Highway 1. Habitats include Florida scrub, depression marsh, tidal swamp, and flatwoods.

Jupiter Community High School, also known as Jupiter High School and JHS, is a public high school in Jupiter, Florida, United States. JHS is a part of the School District of Palm Beach County and is the northernmost high school in Palm Beach County. There are over 3300 students enrolled in the school. The school's mascot is the Warrior, and the school colors are green and gold.

Jupiter is the northernmost town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. According to the 2020 US Census, the town had a population of 61,047. It is 84 miles north of Miami and 15 miles north of West Palm Beach, and is the northernmost community in the Miami metropolitan area.
