The Colegio de Belén located between 45th and 66th streets – situated next door to the Tropicana nightclub – in Marianao, Havana, was designed in 1925 by the architect Leonardo Morales y Pedroso and his brother the engineer Luis Morales y Pedroso of the firm Morales y Compañía Arquitectos.

The ITM Jose Marti in Cuba, which may be translated as Military Technical Institute (Spanish: Instituto Técnico Militar), is a cadet school of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. It is located in Marianao, Havana and has served as a convent and was also a secondary school. The school was founded on 1 February 1967 by Cuban leader Fidel Castro. It is a recipient of the Antonio Maceo Order and holds the honorific of Cuban national hero José Martí. In 1998, the Cuban Academy of Sciences awarded it the status of Sponsor of Science and Technology.

El Tropicana Night Club in Havana, Cuba located in a lush, six-acre (24,000 m²) estate tropical garden opened on December 30, 1939 at the Villa Mina in Marianao. It is located next door to the old Colegio de Belén, presently, the Instituto Técnico Militar.

Candler College and Colegio Buenavista were educational institutions founded in Havana, Cuba by the United States Southern Methodist Episcopal Church. They were founded on two different dates, Candler College in 1899 and Colegio Buenavista in 1920. They both ceased to exist in 1961 when they were nationalized by the revolutionary government of Fidel Castro.

Estadio Nacional de Fútbol Pedro Marrero, the former home of CF Ciudad de La Habana, is a multi-purpose stadium in Havana, Cuba. It is now used primarily for football matches. The stadium holds 30,000 and was built in 1929.

The Central Military Hospital Carlos J. Finlay is a Cuban military hospital in Havana, Cuba. It was founded in 1943 with the objective of providing medical attention to the Cuban Military and their families. It is named for Cuban epidemiologist Carlos Finlay.

Marianao is one of the 15 municipalities or boroughs (municipios in Spanish) in the city of Havana, Cuba. It lies 6 miles southwest of the original city of Havana, with which it is connected by the Marianao railway. In 1989 the municipality had a population of 133,016. Marianao is on a range of hills of about 1500 above sea level and is noted for its salubrious climate. The city dates back to 1830.

Ciudad Libertad Airport (ICAO: MULB) is a defunct airport near Havana, Cuba. and formerly known as El Aeropuerto de Columbia. Located in the borough of Playa, it was Cuba's main airport until 1930, when it was replaced by José Martí International Airport. The airport was also the location of the 1960 Cuban Grand Prix. Two days prior to the Bay of Pigs Invasion in 1961 the airport was bombed by US planes. It previously had two runways, but only one remains. It is now a school.

Oriental Park Racetrack in Marianao, Havana, Cuba, was a thoroughbred horse-racing facility operated during the winter by the Havana-American Jockey Club of Cuba. Founded in 1915, Oriental Park was the only race track in Cuba before Fidel Castro came to power in 1959.

Cerro is one of the 15 municipalities or boroughs (municipios in Spanish) in the city of Havana, Cuba. As of 2016 it is considered "one of Havana’s poorest municipalities."

Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva is an indoor sporting arena located in Havana, Cuba. Built in 1957, the Coliseum is one of the most important works of Cuban Civil Engineering. It is located at the intersection of Boyeros and Vía Blanca avenues in the Cerro Municipality. The capacity of the arena is for 15,000 spectators.

The Embassy of Russia in Havana is the headquarters of the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cuba. It is well known for its striking constructivist building in the Miramar district of the city, built by architect Aleksandr Rochegov. Some liken it to a sword, others to a syringe.
