Chorleywood

Chorleywood is a London Underground and National Rail station in Travelcard Zone 7 (previously zone B) on the Metropolitan line. The village of Chorleywood is in the Three Rivers district of Hertfordshire about 20 miles (32 km) from London. Chorleywood station is also served by Chiltern Railways, which runs trains from London Marylebone station through to Aylesbury.

Heronsgate (or formerly Herringsgate) is a settlement on the outskirts of Chorleywood, Hertfordshire founded by Feargus O'Connor and the Chartist Cooperative Land Company (later the National Land Company) as O'Connorsville or O'Connorville in 1846.

St Clement Danes School is a co-educational academy school for pupils aged 11 to 18 in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire.

Chorleywood House Estate is a 64.3 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Chorleywood in Hertfordshire. It is owned and managed by Three Rivers District Council, and the declaring authority is Hertfordshire County Council.It was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2007.The River Chess runs through the estate which has formal parkland, meadows and mature woodland. Protected species include coralroot bittercress. Chorleywood Dell is a key neutral grassland site in the Biodiversity Action Plan for Hertfordshire. The gardens surround the 200-year-old manor house and summer house.There is access from Common Road.

Chorleywood Common is a 75.6 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Chorleywood in Hertfordshire. It is owned and managed by Chorleywood Parish Council, and the declaring authority is Hertfordshire County Council. The common is part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Habitats on the common are acid heathland, neutral grassland, chalk meadows and secondary woodland. There are also seven ponds which have rare plants and amphibians. Some 300 fungi, 70 plant species and 50 birds have been recorded.There is access from Rickmansworth Road and Dog Kennel Lane.

Mill End is a suburb of Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire, England. Most of it is an unparished area, not being within a civil parish, although part of the built-up area comes under Chorleywood Parish Council. All of Mill End forms part of Three Rivers District and so is administered by Three Rivers District Council and Hertfordshire County Council.

Maple Cross and Mill End is a ward in Three Rivers, in England, the United Kingdom. It is located in the far south-west Hertfordshire, in the East of England region. The ward includes the eponymous villages of Maple Cross and Mill End, lying between Chorleywood West to the north; Penn, Rickmansworth, and Harefield to the east; and Chalfont St. Giles and Chalfont Common to the west. As one of the more populous wards in the district, with an electorate of 3,931, including West Hyde, and increasing to 5,602 at the 2011 Census, the ward elects three members to the Three Rivers District Council. For elections to Hertfordshire County Council, Maple Cross and Mill End is part of the Rickmansworth constituency, represented by the Conservative Barbara Lamb. For elections to the House of Commons, it is in the South West Hertfordshire constituency, represented by David Gauke, also of the Conservatives.

Maple Cross is a village in Hertfordshire, England, which up until the Second World War consisted of an inn, a blacksmith's shop and a few cottages. Today there are around 800 postwar council houses. Some of these have been sold into private ownership. The area is close by junction 17 of the M25 motorway, which makes up the western boundary of the village. It lies on the western fringe of Rickmansworth, about 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Watford and 6 miles north of Uxbridge.

Sarratt Bottom nature Reserve in Hertfordshire is a 3.2-hectare (7.9-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest. The site is a meadow beside the River Chess. It is an example of damp grassland which has been traditionally managed for grazing. There are also areas of swamp and marsh. The main plants in grassland areas include sweet vernal grass and meadow foxtail, and marsh horsetail and common spike-rush are common in damper areas. The site has hedgehogs and a wide variety of wetland birds and invertebrates.There is no public access but the site can be viewed from Moor Lane. The local planning authority is Three Rivers District Council.

Stocker's Lake is an old flooded gravel pit of approx 90 acres (37.5ha) at Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, England, within the Colne Valley Regional Park which is designated as a Local Nature Reserve.The lake is owned by Affinity Water and managed by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust assisted by the Friends of Stocker's Lake.

Loudwater is a private housing estate in the parish of Chorleywood, separated from the latter by the River Chess, north of Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire and just to the east of Junction 18 of the M25 motorway. Loudwater is an old name for the River Chess. The 2001 population was 1,242.

Philipshill Wood is a 77 acres (31 ha) area of woodland in the English county of Buckinghamshire, situated on the border with Hertfordshire about 1 mile (1.6 km) from the village of Chorleywood. It is within the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is owned by the Woodland Trust. The wood is fully open to the public, with some parking available in Old Shire Lane, to the east of the wood.
