Nesscliffe

Kinton is a hamlet in Shropshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Great Ness, and is situated to the west of the A5 road. Richard Mathews, the father of Oliver Mathews – the first historian of Shrewsbury – lived in Kinton.

Ruyton-XI-Towns ( "ry-tən eleven towns"), formally Ruyton of the Eleven Towns or simply Ruyton, is a village and civil parish next to the River Perry in Shropshire, England. It had a population of 1,379 at the 2011 Census. The preparatory school Packwood Haugh is north of the village. Footpaths south of the village lead to the sandstone promontory known as The Cliffe. It is still an area of common land, which is the northern section of the Nesscliffe Hill Country Park.

Packwood Haugh School is a co-educational private preparatory school for pupils from the ages of 4 to 13, offering places for both day and boarding pupils. It is located in Ruyton-XI-Towns, midway between Oswestry and Shrewsbury in Shropshire, England. Fees are around £6 000 a term.

Alberbury Priory was a medieval monastic house in Alberbury, Shropshire, England, established c.1230. It was one of three houses in England belonging to the French Grandmontine Order.The monastery was small, with only 7 monks under a prior in occupancy in 1344, possibly supported by 'lay brothers' who did manual work.In 1359, the then prior of Alberbury was deposed for alleged violence, murder, and dissipation of the priory's goods. In 1364, one of his successors was outlawed for alleged murder and fled the house.Alberbury Priory was dissolved in 1441 when King Henry VI, who had seized the alien houses during the Hundred Years War, gave it as an endowment to All Souls' College, Oxford.

Kynaston is an English hamlet in the parish of Kinnerley, Shropshire. It was described in 1870 as "KYNASTONE, a township in Kinnerley parish, Salop; 7½ miles SE of Oswestry. Pop., 135."The name is thought to be derived from the conflation of the name Cynfyn and the Anglo Saxon term "aston", meaning east town. The place name appears in the 1086 Domesday Book in the spelling of 'Chimerstun', and it has been suggested that this translates as 'The place in the hollow'.This Kynaston pre-dates the village in Herefordshire also called Kynaston. The name is intimately linked with the Kynaston family, the first to carry the surname being Gruffydd Kynaston of Cae Howel, a settlement in the locality. It is not clear whether the hamlet was named after the family or vica versa.

Shelvock Manor is a house and grounds in a township of the same name near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. It was once a place of local importance, and was for more than two centuries the seat of the Thornes, a leading family in Shropshire. The first recorded spelling of Shelvock was Shelfhoc (1175), and later Sselvak and Schelfac (around the year 1270). The name is most likely derived from the Saxon "ac" meaning oak, prefixed by its location on a shelf or hill.

Shrawardine is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Montford, in the Shropshire district, in the ceremonial county of Shropshire, England. It is 5.9 miles (9.5 km) outside Shrewsbury. In 1931 the parish had a population of 176. On 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished and merged with Montford.
