Kester Cottages at Founder's Park is a historic site operated by the Pompano Beach Historical Society in Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida. The site includes a local history museum and exhibits from the late 1930s. They constitute the Pompano Beach Historical Museum. The cottages are two of the perhaps 150 built in Pompano Beach by William L. Kester in the 1930s. 25 feet (7.6 m) by 35 feet (11 m), they were sturdy and economical. All were one story and painted white, with shutters decorated with the four symbols (♠♣♥♦) from a deck of cards. The price was $950. Two cottages were donated to the Pompano Beach Historical Society in 1974. They have been moved from their original locations to Founders Park, and serve as museums of past life in Pompano Beach.They are open to the public by appointment.

Blanche Ely High School is a high school located in Pompano Beach, Broward County, Florida. The school is named for Blanche Ely, former principal and social activist.In addition to Pompano Beach, Ely serves a portion of Deerfield Beach and a portion of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

The Sample-McDougald House (also known as the Sample Estate or Pinehaven) is a 4,700 square feet (440 m2) historic home in Pompano Beach, Florida, built in 1916. It is currently located at 450 Northeast 10th Street, but was originally built on Dixie Highway and moved to its present location by the Sample-McDougald House Preservation Society in 2001. On September 15, 2004, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The house is open as a house museum of pioneer South Florida lifestyle. The house grounds are Centennial Park, maintained by the city of Pompano Beach.

The Ely Educational Museum, 1500 NW 6 Avenue, Pompano Beach, Florida is located in the Blanche & Joseph Ely House. (The address is sometimes given as 595 NW 15th St.; it is on the corner of the two streets.) The Elys were teachers and leaders in the black community. Blanche Ely High School (formerly Blanche Ely Negro High, and before that Pompano Colored School), where she was principal for many years, was named for her. The city has owned the house since 1997. The museum opened briefly in 2000, but closed in 2007. It reopened in 2019, having received renovation funds from the city of Pompano Beach and the Historical Resources Division of the Florida Department of State. People can "look through archives and research the area's African-American communities with yearbooks, old photographs and other items that were part of the era when Ely and her husband were educators."

Pompano Beach High School (formerly Pompano High School, Pompano Beach Senior High School and The Pompano Beach High School Institute of International Studies) is a college-preparatory school located in Pompano Beach, Florida, which instructs grades 9 through 12. Founded in 1928, it is the second oldest high school in the Broward School District.Pompano Beach High received an FCAT school grade of "A" for the 2013–14 academic year. The school has maintained an "A" ranking for 11 of the 12 years since the score-based system began during the 2001–02 academic school year. Pompano Beach High School has been rated 260th best high school in the country and the 9th best in the State of Florida. Since 1958, the school's sports teams have been named the Golden Tornadoes. According to the 2014 edition of U.S. News & World Report, Pompano Beach High School has been ranked the 19th Best High School in the State of Florida.

Pompano Beach Municipal Stadium was a stadium in Pompano Beach, Florida primarily used for professional and amateur baseball from 1957 until its demolition in 2008. The ballpark was dedicated on March 22, 1957, and held 4,500 people. The stadium was the home of the Washington Senators and Texas Rangers at spring training from 1961 until 1986, multiple minor league clubs, and the Pompano Beach High School baseball team.

Elizabeth Nicole "Liz" Jacobson (March 26, 1984 – September 28, 2005) was a United States Air Force airman who was killed in action in the Iraq War in 2005. A member of the U.S. Air Force Security Forces, she was the first female U.S. airman killed in the line of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the first Air Force Security Forces member killed in conflict since the Vietnam War.

Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park, more commonly known simply as Pompano Park, is a standardbred harness racing track and casino in Pompano Beach, Florida. It is billed as "The Winter Home of Harness Racing," as its tropical South Florida location makes it an ideal alternative for horsemen, when most of the racetracks to the north are subject to racing in snow, ice and bitter cold conditions. The track operates its live racing meet for about ten months out of every year, with a short break during the last half of June through the second week in August. Like most racetracks, Pompano simulcasts horse races from all over the US and Canada, allowing its patrons to wager on racing approximately 363 days per year. Pompano Park is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment (formerly Eldorado Resorts). The track has been converted into a racino with slot machines. It currently offers live poker games, under betting limitations imposed by Florida law. In 2018, Eldorado announced a joint venture with the Cordish Companies to develop the area surrounding Pompano Park with a mixed-use project including retail, dining, office, residential, and hotel elements.In 2022, it will be renamed Harrah's.

Leisureville was a census-designated place (CDP) in Broward County, Florida, United States, and now a neighborhood of the City of Pompano Beach, Florida. The population was 1,147 at the 2000 census.

Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) is a for-profit education management organization in the United States. It operates eighty-seven schools in seven states including sixty one charter schools in Florida. In 2019, Charter Schools USA managed charter schools enrolling approximately 70,000 students on a vendor operated school basis.: 87  CSUSA management-run schools are tuition-free to the parent. Students must wear uniforms and parental involvement is required. Teachers are paid for performance and teach a standard curriculum that includes music, art, sciences and customary classes. Charter Schools USA manages every aspect of the program from marketing for new students, teacher recruitment, curriculum development, equipment and book ordering to financial management and oversight.

Pompano Citi Centre is a primarily open-air shopping mall in Pompano Beach, Florida. The center consists of a big box retailer strip, in addition to a small lifestyle center section. The mall's main anchor stores are JCPenney, Lowe's, Ross Dress For Less, Big Lots, and Pet Smart. Burlington, TJ Maxx, and Five Below will move into the former Sears with both stores scheduled to open in fall 2020.[1]
