Rigi Railways (German: Rigi Bahnen) is a railway company that operates a group of railways on the mountain Rigi, located between two of the arms of Lake Lucerne, in Switzerland. They include two standard gauge rack railways, the Vitznau–Rigi Bahn (VRB) and the Arth–Rigi Bahn (ARB), along with the Luftseilbahn Weggis–Rigi Kaltbad (LWRK) cable car. Reaching a height of 1,752 metres (5,748 ft) above sea level, the Rigi Railways are the highest standard gauge railway in Europe. They are also the highest railway in both cantons of Lucerne and Schwyz. The Vitznau–Rigi Bahn is also notable as the first mountain rack railway in Europe, and even the second in the world, after the Mount Washington Cog Railway in the United States.

Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland is a culinary school located in Switzerland and a member school of Swiss Education Group. Bachelor students are based at the Le Bouveret campus in French-speaking Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. Master's students, as well as the Chocolate and Pastry Specialisation students, are based at the city campus of Lucerne, in German-speaking Switzerland. Le Bouveret campus also houses the Mosimann Collection, a collection of culinary memorabilia provided by Chef Anton Mosimann, OBE.

Vitznau railway station (German: Bahnhof Vitznau) is a railway station and ferry terminal in the municipality of Vitznau, in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. It is the terminus of the standard gauge Vitznau–Rigi line of Rigi Railways. The Lake Lucerne Navigation Company (SGV) operates regular ferry service to Lucerne and Flüelen, on Lake Lucerne.

Gersau is a municipality and district in the canton of Schwyz in Switzerland, sitting on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Gersau was for many centuries an independent micro-state in permanent alliance with the Swiss Confederation.

The Dosse (Germanized: Dossen, 1,684 m (5,525 ft)) is a mountain of the Rigi massif, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Lucerne and Schwyz. The mountain overlooks Lake Lucerne, near Vitznau. It is the highest point of the massif in the canton of Lucerne. The slightly lower peak only 200m northwest of it is called Chli Dosse (1,669 m (5,476 ft)).

The Scheidegg (1,658 m or 5,440 ft) is a mountain summit of the Rigi massif, overlooking Goldau in the canton of Schwyz on its north mountainside, and Gersau and the Gersauerbecken on its south side. The cable car station 160 metres east of it is called Rigi Scheidegg.The summit is connected by two cable cars, one, the Luftseilbahn Kräbel–Rigi Scheidegg (LKRS), on the north side connecting to the Kräbel station on the Arth-Rigi Bahn (ARB), and another one, the Luftseilbahn Obergschwend–Rigi Burggeist (LORB), on the south side leading down to Obergschwend in the municipality of Gersau. Alternatively it is possible to walk from Scheidegg to Rigi Kaltbad or Rigi Klösterli by a panoramic footpath on the eastern and western mountainside of the Rigi massif. Much of the path uses the trackbed of the former Rigi–Scheidegg railway that once linked Kaltbad and Scheidegg.The summit of Scheidegg was once the site of a large hotel, built in 1830. The reduction in tourism due to World War I, and the subsequent change in tourism from overnight stays to day trips, resulted in the closure of the hotel and its eventual demolition in 1943/4.The Cinema Museum in London has rare home movie footage of the town in 1946.

Rigi Kaltbad is a resort in the Swiss Alps, located in the canton of Lucerne. The resort sits on a sunny terrace at an elevation of 1,433 metres (4,701 ft), overlooking Lake Lucerne above Weggis in Central Switzerland. The locality is part of the municipality of Weggis.Rigi Kaltbad is located on the flanks of the Rigi and is connected to Vitznau by the Rigi Railways. It is also connected to Weggis by a cable car.Rigi Kaltbad was also the terminus of the Rigi–Scheidegg railway, a contour-following panoramic rail line that connected it to the Scheidegg summit between 1875 and 1931. Today the line's trackbed, which is 6.7 kilometres (4 mi) in length and includes a tunnel and several bridges, is a rail trail that serves in summer as a panoramic footpath, and in winter for cross country skiing.

Arth-Goldau RB railway station (German: Bahnhof Arth-Goldau RB) is a railway station in the municipality of Arth, in the Swiss canton of Schwyz. It is the terminus of the standard gauge Arth–Rigi line of Rigi Railways. The station consists of an elevated platform above the mainline Arth-Goldau station of Swiss Federal Railways.

Goldau is a town in the community of Arth, canton of Schwyz, Switzerland. It lies between the Rigi and Rossberg mountains, and between lakes Zug and Lauerz. Well known attractions include the Natur- und Tierpark Goldau and the Arth-Goldau valley station of the Arth-Rigi Bahn connecting to the Rigi mountain. Goldau is primarily known in Switzerland for its historic landslide, the "Goldau landslide" (Goldauer Bergsturz) of 1806 which killed 457 people. It is also known for its importance for the Swiss railways network, with Arth-Goldau station forming the intersection between the Gotthard, Lucerne, Zug–Zürich and Pfäffikon lines.
