WCSC-TV (channel 5) is a television station in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, affiliated with CBS and owned by Gray Television. The station's studios are located in the West Ashley section of Charleston, and its transmitter is located in Awendaw, South Carolina. Both the studio and road are named for long-time WCSC personalities: Bill Sharpe, a news anchor from 1973 until his retirement in 2021, and Charlie Hall, the station's original personality who died just months before its relocation to the current facilities in 1997.

WCIV (channel 36) is a television station in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, affiliated with MyNetworkTV and ABC. The station is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, and maintains studios on Allbritton Boulevard along US 17/701 (Johnnie Dodds Boulevard) in Mount Pleasant and a transmitter in Awendaw, South Carolina. In September 2014, due to complications arising from Sinclair's acquisition of the original WCIV (channel 4) from its previous owner, Allbritton Communications, WCIV's programming and ABC affiliation was moved onto the second digital subchannel of Sinclair's existing station in the market, MyNetworkTV affiliate WMMP. WCIV's license was sold to Howard Stirk Holdings in order to form a new station using its existing facilities. In preparation for the sale, the WCIV and WMMP intellectual units swapped signals on September 30, 2014, with WCIV moving to WMMP's channel 36 signal and WMMP moving to WCIV's channel 34 signal respectively. WMMP then began carrying programming from ZUUS Country, and has since changed its calls to WGWG.

Dewees Island is a barrier island, located approximately 11 miles north of Charleston, and has an area of 1.875 square miles. The inlet between it and the Isle of Palms is shown on early maps as Spence's Inlet, and is today called Dewees Inlet. The island is private, consisting only of residential properties and a nature preserve. Dewees is accessible by private ferry or private boat.

The Oakland Plantation House which is also known as Youghall or Youghal Plantation House, was built about 1750 in Charleston County, South Carolina about 7 mi (11 km) east of Mount Pleasant. It is located about 1 mile (1.6 km) south of U.S. Route 17 on Stratton Place. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places on July 13, 1977.

Fort Palmetto is a historic artillery battery located at Christ Church Parish, Hamlin Sound, Charleston County, South Carolina. It was built in late 1861, and was at the easternmost end of the Christ Church Parish line of defense. At the end of the war this battery mounted one nine-inch gun and two rifled thirty-two pounders. The earthen redoubt measures approximately 160 feet long and 80 feet wide. It has a 15 foot high parapet wall and a powder magazine about 25 feet in height.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Fort Palmetto is now part of Fort Palmetto Park, a Town of Mount Pleasant park which opened in 2015 and is located within the subdivision community of Oyster Point.

Cainhoy Historic District is a national historic district located near Huger, Berkeley County, South Carolina. It encompasses nine contributing buildings, which range in date from the mid-18th century through the early-20th century. They represent the development of the village from a ferry landing to a small but thriving river port. It was the site of America's first porcelain factory, established by John Bartlam in 1765. Each building is a vernacular specimen from its respective period, including the Federal style. Cainhoy's significance lies in its role as an early transportation link between inland Berkeley County and Charleston and in its fine collection of early buildings. In 1876, Cainhoy was the site of a political rally for Wade Hampton (1818-1902) which degenerated into a brawl between blacks and whites. Christened the "Cainhoy Massacre," the incident left seven men dead and sixteen wounded.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. In 2014, plans were made to develop the environmentally significant and sensitive Cainhoy Peninsula.

Cook's Old Field Cemetery, also known as Hamlin Cemetery, is a historic cemetery located near Mount Pleasant, Charleston County, South Carolina. It contains graves dating from 1805 to 1916; the majority date from the 1840s and 1850s. The oldest marker is for Arnold Wells who died in 1805. On July 16, 1863, Mary Moore Hamlin set aside one acre of land for the dedicated cemetery. The cemetery is an excellent example of a mid-19th century plantation cemetery associated with the Hamlin, Hibben, and Leland families and is an excellent example of mid-nineteenth century gravestone art. It is also the last extant resource associated with the Hamlin, Hibben, and Leland families; none of the families' plantation houses survive around Mount Pleasant. The cemetery has 38 marked graves. There are headstones, box tombs, and an obelisk. Two markers commemorating the descendants of those who began a reunion committee in 1949 are located immediately inside the gate. The stones, arranged by family, display weathering and some vandalism but otherwise retain their integrity. Two brick columns mark the location of missing iron gates at the entrance. The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 9, 2003.Seven of the ornately carved markers were identified as the work of the family of Charleston stone carver Thomas Walker, who started a family business in 1794 that lasted until 1904.

Goat Island is an island located between Mt. Pleasant and Isle of Palms, South Carolina, United States, on the Intracoastal Waterway. It is one of the smallest inhabited islands of the region, being only as large as a neighborhood street. There is another Goat Island in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, that is approximately 20,000 square feet. There is yet another Goat Island located in the Whale Branch River near Seabrook, SC. The island is privately owned. Little Goat Island, which is also in between Isle of Palms and Mt Pleasant, has recently been put up for sale by Private Islands Inc. for US$3.5 million. The website states that the island is 390 acres in size but only 25 acres are high enough in elevation to be suitable for development.

Boone Hall Plantation is a historic district located in Mount Pleasant, Charleston County, South Carolina, United States and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The plantation is one of America's oldest plantations still in operation. It has continually produced agricultural crops for over 320 years and is open for public tours. The historic district includes a 1936 Colonial Revival-style dwelling, and multiple significant landscape features, including an allée of southern live oak trees, believed to have been planted in 1743.

Wild Dunes is an oceanfront resort on Isle of Palms, South Carolina, United States. It is 1,600 acres (6 km2) on the north end of the island and has controlled-access gates.

The Charles Pinckney National Historic Site is a unit of the United States National Park Service, preserving a portion of Charles Pinckney's Snee Farm plantation and country retreat. The site is located at 1254 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Pinckney (1757-1824) was a member of a prominent political family in South Carolina. He fought in the American Revolutionary War, was held for a period as prisoner in the North, and returned to the state in 1783. Pinckney, a Founding Father of the United States, served as a delegate to the constitutional convention where he contributed to drafting the United States Constitution. This Snee Farm site was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1973, and was designated a National Historic Site in 1988.
