Guadalupe, California

Guadalupe station (also known as Guadalupe–Santa Maria) is an Amtrak train station in the city of Guadalupe, California. The station primarily serves the larger city of Santa Maria, located 8 miles (13 km) to the east. It is served by two daily round trips of the Pacific Surfliner. Service to the station began in July 1998. A new station was built to replace the former structure, which was demolished around 1974. The new station was built in a Spanish Colonial Revival style featuring a barrel red-tiled roof and white stuccoed walls, similar to that of older train stations in Southern California. The San Diegan was renamed Pacific Surfliner in 2000.

Rancho Guadalupe was a 43,682-acre (176.77 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day northwestern Santa Barbara County and southwestern San Luis Obispo County, California given in 1840 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado to Diego Olivera and Teodoro Arellanes. The grant extended along the Pacific coast, and encompassed present-day Guadalupe.

The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes National Wildlife Refuge is a 2,553-acre (10.33 km2) protected area located along the Central Coast of California, in southern San Luis Obispo and northern Santa Barbara Counties.

Woodlands is a census-designated place in San Luis Obispo County, California. "The Woodlands" is a 956-acre master planned community with single- and multi-family homes, a resort hotel, retail and office space, located adjacent to Nipomo, California. Woodlands sits at an elevation of 282 feet (86 m). The 2010 United States census reported Woodlands's population was 576.

Betteravia (from French betterave "sugar beet roots") was a community in northern Santa Barbara County, California on Betteravia Road, six miles west of Santa Maria. It is notable as a rare ghost town on the Central Coast of California.

Santa Maria River on the Central Coast of California, is formed at the confluence of the Sisquoc River and Cuyama River, just east of the city of Santa Maria, and flows 24.4 miles (39.3 km) to its delta at the Pacific Ocean.The entire river defines the border between northern Santa Barbara County and southern San Luis Obispo County, up to the Sisquoc River, with a major bridge on Highway 101 passing over it. The Santa Maria River Fault is a tectonic fault that roughly corresponds with the course of the river.There are no dams or lakes on the Santa Maria River itself, although Twitchell Reservoir is formed by a dam on the tributary Cuyama River. Twitchell Dam was built by the United States Bureau of Reclamation and provides flood control and groundwater recharge of the aquifer. The Sisquoc River is also free-flowing, and a National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.During much of the year, the Santa Maria River has very little water, but it can swell greatly during winter storms.

Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes is the largest remaining dune system south of San Francisco and the second largest in the U.S. state of California. It encompasses an 18-mile (29 km) stretch of coastline on the Central Coast of California and extends from southern San Luis Obispo County to northern Santa Barbara County.The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Complex is home to a unique dunes ecosystem as well as many endangered and threatened species of plants and animals. To protect the dunes environment, much of the Complex has been set aside for conservation. In addition, it is recognized as a National Natural Landmark.Another portion of the Dunes is utilized for recreation, such as camping and off-highway vehicle (OHV) use. The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes is owned by a number of federal, state, and local agencies, and private companies, organizations and individuals. These include the counties of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, California State Parks, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County.

Rancho Casmalia was a 8,841-acre (35.78 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Santa Barbara County, California given in 1840 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Jose Maria del Carmen Domínguez and Antonio Olivera. The grant extended along the Pacific coast from Point Sal and Rancho Guadalupe on the north, through the Casmalia Hills to Shuman Canyon and Rancho Jesús María on the south, and encompasses present-day Casmalia.With the cession of California to the United States following the Mexican-American War, the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo provided that the land grants would be honored. As required by the Land Act of 1851, a claim for Rancho Casmalia was filed with the Public Land Commission in 1852, and the grant was patented to Antonio Olivera in 1863.

Callender is a census-designated place in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States. Callender is located along California State Route 1 south of Arroyo Grande. The population was 1,262 at the 2010 census.

Blacklake is a census-designated place in San Luis Obispo County, California. Blacklake sits at an elevation of 341 feet (104 m). The 2010 United States census reported Blacklake's population was 930. Blacklake (or Blacklake Village) is an area of residential subdivisions surrounding the Blacklake Golf Resort, and is located between Nipomo and Callender, California.

Rancho Punta de Laguna was a 26,648-acre (107.84 km2) Mexican land grant in present day northern Santa Barbara County, California, and southern San Luis Obispo County given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Luis Arellanes and Emigdio Miguel Ortega. The name of this rancho means "point of the lagoon" and refers to the irregular lake lying within its territory. The grant is east of Rancho Guadalupe and encompasses present day Santa Maria and Betteravia.

Vandenberg Space Force Base Launch Facility 07 (LC-07) is a former US Air Force Intercontinental ballistic missile launch facility on Vandenberg SFB, California, USA. It was a launch site for the land-based Minuteman missile series.
