Florin, California

Florin Towne Centre, formerly Florin Mall and Florin Center, is an outdoor shopping center in the unincorporated area of Parkway-South Sacramento near Sacramento, California, United States. It opened in 2008 on the site of the old Florin Mall, which closed and was demolished in 2006. The 484,500 square feet (45,010 m2) center is anchored by AutoZone, PetSmart and Walmart Supercenter.

Southeast Village is a neighborhood located in Southeast Sacramento. Its boundaries are Lemon Hill Ave to the north, 65th St. Expy to the west, 53rd Ave to the south, along with Logan St and 75th St to the east.

On April 4, 1991, 41 employees and customers were taken hostage and held at a Good Guys! electronics store at the corner of 65th Street and Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento, California, near the Florin Mall (now Florin Towne Centre) for approximately eight hours by four gunmen. Near the end of the hostage crisis, six were killed: three hostages and three of the four hostage-takers. The fourth hostage-taker was captured by authorities, and an additional 14 hostages were injured during the crisis. To this day, the hostage crisis remains the largest hostage rescue operation in US history, with over 40 hostages having been held at gunpoint.

Methodist Hospital is a hospital located in the southern part of Sacramento, California. It is located just off Highway 99 by taking the Calvine Road/Consumnes River Boulevard exit 289. Its address is 7500 Hospital Drive. The hospital has 162 acute care beds. In 2011, 9,136 patients were admitted, 53,056 emergency department visits were made, and 1,188 babies were delivered. The hospital has more than 430 physicians and approximately 1,133 employees. It is currently operated by Dignity Health, who acquired the hospital in 1992.On July 28, 2011, Becker's Hospital Review listed Methodist Hospital of Sacramento under 60 Hospitals With Great Orthopedic Programs. It has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement by Blue Shield of California. The surgeons at the hospital focus on joint replacement, spine surgery and sports medicine. The surgeons are able to stay on the cutting edge by performing a minimally invasive partial knee replacement procedure with The Oxford Knee or the Opus Magnum minimally invasive procedure for rotator cuff tears. The department also includes hand and foot surgery specialists and outpatient rehabilitation centers designed for patients with extremities injuries and conditions.

Florin High School is a high school in Sacramento, California. It is part of the Elk Grove Unified School District and serves the portion of southern Sacramento that is to the east of California State Route 99.

Masjid Annur Islam Center in Sacramento, California is the largest mosque in the greater Sacramento area of Northern California.The Masjid Annur Islam Center offers classes on the Arabic language, the Qur'an, Tajweed and holds events regularly throughout the year. Masjid Annur is also home to one of the only Islamic high schools in Northern California. It is also home to the Annur annual Islamic conference which brings Imams and Islamic scholars from all over the world for the 3 day event.

The Sacramento Army Depot (SAAD) was a 485-acre (1.96 km2) facility located within current city limits, 7 miles (11 km) southeast of downtown Sacramento, California, in Sacramento County. SAAD was activated in 1941. It served as a repair facility for electronic equipment, such as night vision goggles, electronic circuit boards, and radium-dial instrumentation. The depot was deactivated after the findings of the 1988 Base Realignment and Closure Commission. The depot officially closed on March 3, 1995. On July 22, 1987, the depot was added to the National Priorities List as a Superfund site.

The Home of Peace Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery founded in 1924, and located at 6200 Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento, California. This cemetery contains some of the earliest Jewish gravestones in the western United States, moved from Chevra Kaddisha Cemetery.

Center Parkway station is a side platformed Sacramento RT light rail station in Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on August 24, 2015, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It is served by the Blue Line. The station is located on the north side of Cosumnes River Boulevard at Center Parkway, serving the Valley Hi neighborhood and Valley High School in South Sacramento. There is no park and ride lot at the Center Parkway station.

Cosumnes River College station is a side platformed Sacramento RT light rail station in Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on August 24, 2015, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It serves as the southern terminus of the Blue Line. The station is located on the east side of Cosumnes River College, near the intersection of Bruceville Road and Cosumnes River Boulevard in South Sacramento. It is attached to a 2,016-stall paid parking garage and is served by several bus routes at a dedicated bus station to the west of the platforms.

Cosumnes River College is a public community college in Sacramento, California. It opened in 1970, taking its name from the Cosumnes River which flows just a few miles to the south. As of Spring 2017, enrollment was at 13,091 students at its main and satellite campus in Elk Grove, California. Folsom Lake College, a former satellite campus, attained independence in 2004.
