The La Habra City Elementary School District is located in the northwestern part of Orange County, California, United States and covers a five-mile area that includes the city of La Habra and parts of La Habra Heights, Brea and Fullerton. The district serves approximately 4,700 students, with seven elementary schools for students in transitional kindergarten (T-K) through sixth grade and two middle schools for grades six through eight. The Middle School Academies provide students in grades six through eight, with a Comprehensive academic program, which recognizes the special needs and characteristics of this age group. The Academy of the Arts emphasizes the integration of the Arts into the core academic program and has expanded elective offerings in the creative and performing Arts. The Science and Technology Academy focuses on elective courses that integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Upon completion of eighth grade, students attend either La Habra High School or Sonora High School. These high schools are part of the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. Students may also take an assessment to get into Troy High School in Fullerton, also part of the Fullerton High School District.

La Habra High School is a public co-educational high school located in the Orange County, California city of La Habra. Located between the Coyote Hills to the south and Puente Hills to the north, LHHS opened in 1954 and graduated its first class in 1956. It is a California Distinguished High School and has been nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School. The school is a member of the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. LHHS absorbed a majority of the students from nearby Lowell High School when it closed in June 1980.

Sonora High School (SOHS) is a public high school located at 401 S. Palm Street in La Habra, north Orange County, California. One of seven high schools in the Fullerton Joint Union High School District, Sonora served over 1,944 students in the 2012-2013 school year. The school has an International Baccalaureate program, honors, and Advanced Placement (AP) options available for certain classes and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The Alma Mater of the school, "Sons of old Sonora High, raise your voices to the sky! Raider now forever true, Sonora, praise to you! Blue and gold will light your name, long may reign your noble fame! Raiders join and sing anew, Sonora, praise to you!" This school is not to be confused with Sonora High School in Sonora, CA.

La Habra Marketplace, formerly La Habra Fashion Square, is an open-air regional mall in La Habra, California, built by the Bullock's department store chain. Welton Becket and Associates were the architects. It was the last and largest of the "Fashion Square" malls that it built, after Santa Ana, Sherman Oaks and Del Amo. The site measured 40 acres (160,000 m2), with 565,618 square feet (52,547.6 m2) of retail space, of which the large Bullock's store represented about half. The center has been re-developed into a strip mall called La Habra Marketplace.

Rancho La Habra (also called "Rancho Cañada de La Habra") was a 6,698-acre (27.11 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Los Angeles County and Orange County, California given in 1839 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Mariano Reyes Roldan. The name refers to the "Pass Through the Hills", the natural pass to the north between the Chino Hills and Puente Hills into the San Gabriel Valley, first discovered by Spanish explorers in 1769. The La Habra grant was shaped like a wedge pointed south. The rancho lands included the present day cities of La Habra and La Habra Heights.

Whittier Christian High School is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian high school located in La Habra, California. It was founded in 1958. The high school has a gymnasium named the Leon Davis Event Center, after the school worker Leon Davis. Whittier Christian is also nicknamed "Dub-C".

The 2014 La Habra earthquake was a magnitude 5.1 earthquake that occurred on March 28, 2014, at 9:09:42 p.m. PDT. Although given the name "La Habra" it was centered in Brea, a city in northern Orange County. Despite its moderate magnitude, it had a maximum Mercalli intensity of VII (Very strong), and caused a total of $10.8 million in damage. Thirteen water mains broke in Fullerton, forcing roughly 70 families to be displaced from their homes after they were declared temporarily uninhabitable.

The West Coyote Hills is the area surrounding a ridge in northern Orange County, California. It contains one of the last large open-space area in north Orange County. Parts of it lie within the city limits of La Habra, Buena Park, and La Mirada, with most of it sprawling across western Fullerton between Ralph B. Clark Regional Park and Euclid Street north of Rosecrans Avenue. The foothill region to the east and south is known as Sunny Hills. There is also an East Coyote Hills area, on the east side of Fullerton, that has been almost completely developed for residential real estate. The remaining open-space area is currently the subject of a long-running dispute over residential development, pitting conservationists against a pro-development majority on the city council. A division of Chevron is currently proposing to develop the portions of the land that are suitable for development, while leaving the remainder as open space.

La Habra Heights is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 5,325 at the 2010 census, down from 5,712 at the 2000 census. La Habra Heights is a suburban canyon community located on the border of Orange and Los Angeles counties. The zoning is 1-acre (4,000 m2) lots with a variety of home and ranch style properties. La Habra Heights features open space and there are no sidewalks in the community. La Habra Heights has no commercial activity (stores, gas stations) with the exception of a small real estate office, a plant nursery, a private golf course and numerous home-based businesses. Hacienda Park is the main park in the city and runs along Hacienda Road. A related city, La Habra, is located south of La Habra Heights and is in Orange County.

Lowell High School was a public high school in the Fullerton Joint Union High School District from September 1961 until June 1980, when it was closed because of declining student enrollment. It was a four-year institution, with students coming primarily from Rancho-Cañada and Starbuck Junior High schools. The school athletic name was the Patriots, and its mascots were known as Johnny Patriot and Janie Patriot.

Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) is a private university located in Whittier, California and specializing in the health sciences. SCUHS programs include acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which are regarded by the mainstream medicine and science communities as pseudoscience. Academics are organized into four colleges and schools: the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, the College of Eastern Medicine, and the College of Science & Integrative Health. The university is accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission.
