Yayoi (弥生) is a neighborhood in Bunkyo, Tokyo. In 1884, when it was part of Tokyo City, it was the location of a shell mound where a new type of pottery was discovered by Dr. Shogoro Tsuboi and his colleagues. The pottery became known as Yayoi, and eventually a period of Japanese prehistory was named after the neighborhood where the type site was excavated. Todaimae Station (東大前駅, Tōdaimae-eki) is a subway station in the Tokyo Metro network. It is located in Bunkyo, Tokyo. The station is the nearest station to Yayoi campus of the University of Tokyo.

Nezu Shrine (根津神社, Nezu-jinja) is a Shinto shrine located in the Bunkyō ward of Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1705, it is one of the oldest places of worship in the city, and several of the buildings on the shrine grounds have been designated as Important Cultural Property. It was built in the Ishi-no-ma-zukuri style of Shinto architecture, following the Tōshō-gū shrine in Nikkō. It is famous for its Azalea Festival (Tsutsuji Matsuri) which is held on its grounds from early April until early May, and it has been described as "Tokyo’s most beautiful shrine" and as one of the city's "most spectacular spring scenes".It is one of the Tokyo Ten Shrines (東京十社, Tokyo Jissha).

Bunkyo Gakuin University (文京学院大学, Bunkyō Gakuin Daigaku) is a coeducational university located in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan, near the University of Tokyo. Bunkyo Gakuin University was founded in April 1991 in Kamekubo, Ōimachi, Iruma, Saitama by Ishiko Shimada. In 2001, it opened the Faculty of Foreign Studies on what had been the Tokyo campus of Bunkyo Women's College (文京女子短期大学). There is another campus located northwest of Tokyo in Fujimino, Saitama. The university was originally called Bunkyo Women's University (文京女子大学). It was renamed Bunkyo Gakuin University in 2002 and became coeducational in 2005. The current president of Bunkyo University is Akiko Shimada. One of the unique features of the university is its "Chat Lounge", where students can practice their conversational language skills free of charge. Two "chat partners" staff the English facility from Monday to Friday. The Chinese Chat Lounge space, staffed by one native Chinese speaker, is located next to the English Chat Lounge space and open in the afternoon. The university also has three student dormitories in Hongo, Nishikata, and Fujimino, a dormitory for foreign exchange students next to the Hongo campus, a junior and senior girls' high school in Komagome, Tokyo, and a kindergarten across the street from the Hongo campus. Bunkyo Gakuin University celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2009.

Nippon Medical School (日本医科大学, Nihon ika daigaku) is a private university in Sendagi (千駄木), Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Bunkyo Gakuin College (文京学院短期大学, Bunkyo Gakuin Tanki Daigaku) is a private junior college in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan. It was set up as a women's junior college in 1963, and became coeducational in 2006. After a new schoolhouse had been built to Ōi, Saitama (at present Fujimino, Saitama), it became three systems of the subject in 1982. It became a single department junior college again in April 1997.

Yasuda Auditorium (安田講堂, Yasuda kōdō) is a building and clock tower at the center of the Hongō campus of the University of Tokyo. It serves as the central symbol of the campus, where special events and graduation ceremonies are held.

The University of Tokyo (東京大学, Tōkyō daigaku), abbreviated as Todai (東大, Tōdai) or UTokyo, is a public research university located in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1877, the university is the first Imperial University and currently selected as a Top Type university of Top Global University Project by the Japanese government.UTokyo has ten faculties, 15 graduate schools and enrolls about 30,000 students, about 4,200 of whom are international students. In particular, the number of privately funded international students, who account for more than 80%, has increased 1.75 times in the 10 years since 2010, and the university is focusing on supporting international students. Its five campuses are in Hongō, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirokane and Nakano. It is considered to be the most selective and prestigious university in Japan. As of 2021, University of Tokyo's alumni, faculty members and researchers include seventeen Prime Ministers, 18 Nobel Prize laureates, four Pritzker Prize laureates, five astronauts, and a Fields Medalist.

The Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP) at the University of Tokyo was founded in 2004 and is one of the premier public policy schools in Asia. It is located on the University's Hongo campus in Bunkyo-ku, and consists of approximately 200 students. The current dean is Hiroshi Ohashi.

The International Center for Elementary Particle Physics (東京大学素粒子物理国際研究センター, Tōkyō Daigaku Soryūshi Butsuri Kokusai Kenkyū Sentā) is a division of the University of Tokyo, Japan dedicated to the study of particle physics. The ICEPP is located on the 10th floor of the Faculty of Science Building #1 at the University of Tokyo.

Nezu Station (根津駅 Nezu-eki) is a metro station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line located in Bunkyo, Tokyo. Its station number is C-14. It opened for service on December 20, 1969.

The Hongō campus is one of five campuses of the University of Tokyo. Most of the more specific and advanced undergraduate course are taken here and many research laboratories are located in the Hongō campus area. The Hongo district campus is further divided into three districts: Hongo, Yayoi, and Asano, and they are called Hongo Campus, Yayoi Campus, and Asano Campus respectively.
