The University of Tokyo (東京大学, Tōkyō daigaku), abbreviated as Todai (東大, Tōdai) or UTokyo, is a public research university located in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1877, the university is the first Imperial University and currently selected as a Top Type university of Top Global University Project by the Japanese government.UTokyo has ten faculties, 15 graduate schools and enrolls about 30,000 students, about 4,200 of whom are international students. In particular, the number of privately funded international students, who account for more than 80%, has increased 1.75 times in the 10 years since 2010, and the university is focusing on supporting international students. Its five campuses are in Hongō, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirokane and Nakano. It is considered to be the most selective and prestigious university in Japan. As of 2021, University of Tokyo's alumni, faculty members and researchers include seventeen Prime Ministers, 18 Nobel Prize laureates, four Pritzker Prize laureates, five astronauts, and a Fields Medalist.

The Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP) at the University of Tokyo was founded in 2004 and is one of the premier public policy schools in Asia. It is located on the University's Hongo campus in Bunkyo-ku, and consists of approximately 200 students. The current dean is Hiroshi Ohashi.

The Hongō campus is one of five campuses of the University of Tokyo. Most of the more specific and advanced undergraduate course are taken here and many research laboratories are located in the Hongō campus area. The Hongo district campus is further divided into three districts: Hongo, Yayoi, and Asano, and they are called Hongo Campus, Yayoi Campus, and Asano Campus respectively.

The Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo (東京大学史料編纂所, Tōkyō daigaku shiryō hensan-jo) is a research institution affiliated with the University of Tokyo that is devoted to the analysis, compilation, and publication of historical source materials concerning Japan. Since its foundation in 1869, the Institute has been a major center of Japanese historical research, and makes historical sources available through its library, publications, and databases.

The International Center for Elementary Particle Physics (東京大学素粒子物理国際研究センター, Tōkyō Daigaku Soryūshi Butsuri Kokusai Kenkyū Sentā) is a division of the University of Tokyo, Japan dedicated to the study of particle physics. The ICEPP is located on the 10th floor of the Faculty of Science Building #1 at the University of Tokyo.

The University of Tokyo Library in Tokyo, Japan, consists of the General Library, the Komaba Library, and the Kashiwa Library. The University of Tokyo (UTokyo) library has the largest collection in Japan, holding a total of over 8,000,000 books.

Akamon (赤門, Red gate) is a historical gate (mon) located in the Bunkyō ward of Tokyo, Japan. One of two remaining gates of the Edo period daimyō mansions in the city (the other one is Kuromon, currently located in the Tokyo National Museum). It was constructed in 1827 in the late Edo period in the residence of the Maeda clan in Edo. The purpose of the gate was to welcome Lady Yasu-hime, a daughter of Tokugawa Ienari, as a bride for Nariyasu Maeda. It is currently located in the grounds of the University of Tokyo, and it has been designated an Important Cultural Property. Before World War II it was registered as a National Treasure.

The University of Tokyo Hospital (東京大学医学部附属病院, Tōkyō daigaku igakubu fuzoku byōin) is an academic health science centre and tertiary referral hospital located in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan. The hospital is part of the University of Tokyo's Faculty of Medicine. It is one of the country's fifteen core clinical research hospitals, which are hospitals that also serve as medical research centres with large government grants. It has consistently been ranked as the best hospital in the country in several hospital rankings. Newsweek's World's Best Hospitals 2023 ranks it 17th in the world, 2nd in Asia, and 1st in Japan. Notably, it serves as the primary hospital for the Imperial Family of Japan, with both the current emperor and the emperor emeritus having undergone major operations there.

The University Museum, The University of Tokyo (UMUT) (東京大学総合研究博物館, Tōkyō daigaku sōgō kenkyū hakubutsukan) is a museum in Tokyo, Japan. It is part of The University of Tokyo. UMUT was established in 1966 to mainly preserve the collection of the university. Today UMUT works with preservation, research, and exhibitions for the general public.

Nezu Station (根津駅 Nezu-eki) is a metro station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line located in Bunkyo, Tokyo. Its station number is C-14. It opened for service on December 20, 1969.

The Keiyō Junction (京葉ジャンクション, Keiyō Jankushon) is a junction that connects the Tokyo Gaikan Expressway and Keiyō Road in Tokagi, Ichikawa, Chiba.

Todaimae Station (東大前駅, Tōdaimae-eki) is a subway station in the Tokyo Metro network. It is located in Bunkyo, Tokyo. The station is the nearest station to Yayoi campus of the University of Tokyo.
