Canberra Hospital

The Garran Surge Centre, also known as the Canberra Coronavirus Field Hospital was a temporary hospital in Canberra, Australia created in response to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. The hospital was constructed by Aspen Medical, a Canberra-based company with experience managing medical responses to disasters and providing contracted medical services to government agencies in several countries. The facility was located on Garran Oval, a sports field to the northeast of the existing Canberra Hospital campus.

West Canberra Wanderers Football Club, previously known as Woden-Weston FC is a semi-professional soccer club based in Canberra, Australia. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football. West Canberra Wanderers FC field teams in Junior and senior (adult) men's and women's National Premier League competitions in the ACT. The club has historic links to the community clubs Woden Valley Football Club and Weston-Molonglo Football Club.

Woden Park (also known as Woden Park Athletics Field) is a multi-use association football stadium and athletics centre located within Woden Valley, Canberra. It is the home ground of Woden Weston FC in the NPL Capital Football as well as ACT Little Athletics.

Canberra White Eagles FC (commonly known simply as White Eagles) is an Australian amateur association football club based in the Woden Valley region of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Founded in 1992 by the Canberra Serbian community, the club currently competes in the Capital Premier League competition.

Woden Valley () is a district in the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. The district is subdivided into divisions (suburbs), sections and blocks. The name of Woden Valley is taken from the name of a nearby homestead owned by Dr James Murray who named the homestead in October 1837 after the Old English god of wisdom, Woden. He named it this as he was to spend his life in the pursuit of wisdom. However, historian Dr Harold Koch considers that the name may have its origins in the Aboriginal word for possum, either wadyan or wadhan, influenced in interpretation by the term known to English speakers of 'Woden'.In 1964 it was the first satellite city to be built, separate from the district of Canberra Central. It has its own shopping centre, employment opportunities and accommodation with twelve suburbs arranged around the Woden Town Centre. At the 2021 census, the population of the district was 39,279.

Garran is a suburb in the Woden district of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. Garran was named after Sir Robert Garran who made numerous contributions to the development of higher education in Canberra. The streets in Garran are named after Australian writers. The suburb was first settled in 1966 and has an area of 2.74 km2.

The Woden Cemetery is the main cemetery in Canberra, the capital of Australia. It is located adjacent to the Woden Town Centre. The cemetery opened in 1936 as the Canberra General Cemetery. It closed for burials in 1979, but was re-opened in March 1999. Memorial gardens were opened in 1992, and the Christ the Redeemer Mausoleum, for burial in above-ground vaults, was completed in 2001. The cemetery is nearing capacity; it was announced in February 2009 that it would be full in about 10 years, necessitating the construction of a third cemetery to service the city.

Allen Geoffrey Redston was an Australian schoolboy who was kidnapped and murdered on 28 September 1966, having disappeared the previous day. Redston's assailant was never caught and his murder remains an infamous cold case in Canberra to this day.

O'Malley () (postcode: 2606) is an affluent suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. At the 2021 census, O'Malley had a population of 928 people. There are numerous embassies in O'Malley. The suburb is named after King O'Malley, who was the politician who arranged the competition for a design for Canberra. Streets in O'Malley are named with Aboriginal words.

Phillip (postcode: 2606) is a suburb of Canberra, Australia in the district of Woden Valley. It is located in the centre of the district and contains the district's main commercial centre, Woden Town Centre. Phillip had a residential population of 5,197 at the 2021 census. 67.0% of the population lived in flats. Many more flats are being planned or built. The suburb is named after Arthur Phillip, the first Governor of New South Wales. The suburb name was gazetted on 12 May 1966. Streets in Phillip use names associated with the First, Second and Third Fleets; streets in the Swinger Hill were named after architects.As the commercial and geographical centre of Woden, Phillip contains many of the district's key facilities. As well as the Woden Town Centre, which includes the Westfield Woden shopping centre, a bus interchange and the Lovett Tower (the tallest commercial office building in Canberra), it has its own commercial area located along Botany, Townshend and Parramatta Streets. Eddison Park, including Woden Skate Park and Disc Golf Course, and the Woden Cemetery are located in the suburb. Phillip also contains a number of sporting facilities, including the Phillip Enclosed Oval, which has been known as Football Park since 1981 and was the headquarters of Australian rules football in Canberra during the 1980s and 1990s, and the Phillip Swimming & Ice Skating Centre, home to the CBR Brave of the Australian Ice Hockey League. The Canberra College is situated in Phillip.

The Canberra College (formerly known as the Phillip College) is an Australian Capital Territory public school, which educates students from year 11 to year 12. In 2022, Simon Vaughan was appointed Principal, taking over from Michael Battenally. The school was founded in 1976 under the name of Phillip College after secondary schools were in demand while a working party recommended the establishment of autonomous education. A Commonwealth Teaching Service was approved in September 1970 to provide teachers in Canberran schools. The name of the school was changed and reopened under the name of the Canberra College in 1997 after the Stirling College in Stirling amalgamated with the Phillip College. It was officially opened on 19 March 1997 by the Minister for Education and Training, Bill Stefaniak.The Canberra College offered the International Baccalaureate diploma in its curriculum until 2017 when it was discontinued for the following year. The college was an IB World School from March 2008.
