Chilton Foliat Meadows (grid reference SU315703) is a 54.6 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in the civil parish of Chilton Foliat in the English county of Wiltshire. It was notified in 1971 and is split across Berkshire and Wiltshire.

Chilton Foliat is a village and civil parish on the River Kennet in Wiltshire, England. The parish is in the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is on the county boundary with West Berkshire and is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northwest of the Berkshire market town of Hungerford. The village is on the B4192 Hungerford-Swindon road, which was the A419 until 1977, when it was redesignated after the opening of the M4 motorway. The parish includes the hamlets of Straight Soley and Crooked Soley.

Froxfield is a village and civil parish in the English county of Wiltshire. The parish is on the Wiltshire-West Berkshire border, and the village lies on the A4 national route about 2.5 miles (4 km) west of Hungerford and 7 miles (11 km) east of Marlborough. Froxfield village is on a stream that is a tributary of the River Dun. The road between London and Bristol follows the valley of the stream and passes through the village, having followed this course since at least the 13th century. The Kennet and Avon Canal follows the Dun valley through Froxfield parish, passing within 550 yards (500 m) of the village. The canal has a series of locks in the parish, from Oakhill Down Lock to Froxfield Bottom Lock. The Reading to Taunton railway line also follows the river through the parish below the village.

Oakhill Down Lock is a lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal, at Froxfield, Wiltshire, England, between Newbury Bridge and Pewsey Wharf. The lock was built between 1794 and 1799, and has a rise/fall of 5 ft 11 in (1.80 m). The lock and bridge are Grade II listed structures.

Hungerford Marsh Lock is a lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal, at Hungerford, Berkshire, England. The lock has a rise/fall of 8 ft 1 in (2.46 m).The lock is unique compared to others on the canal in that it has a swing bridge directly over the centre of the lock that must be opened before the lock may be used.

Freeman's Marsh is a 25.1-hectare (62-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the northern outskirts of Hungerford in Berkshire. It is in the North Wessex Downs, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site is owned by the Town and Manor of Hungerford.Freeman's Marsh is in the flood plain of the River Dun, which goes through the site. It has unimproved meadows, which have long been traditionally managed by grazing, marsh, reedbeds and scattered woodland. Many species of birds nest on the river bank and in the marshy meadows, including snipe, little grebes and mute swans, while sedge warblers, reed warblers and reed buntings nest in tall fen and reed.The site is crossed by public footpaths.

The Victorian Kitchen Garden is a 13-part British television series produced in 1987 by Keith Sheather for BBC2, based on an idea by Jennifer Davies, who later became associate producer. It recreated a kitchen garden of the Victorian era at Leverton, Berkshire (near Chilton Foliat, Wiltshire). The presenter was the horticultural lecturer, Peter Thoday (1934-2023), the master gardener was Harry Dodson, and the director was Keith Sheather.The theme music and soundtrack was composed by Paul Reade and performed principally by Emma Johnson playing the clarinet. It won the 1991 Ivor Novello award for best TV theme music.
