Shawlands Academy is a state secondary school in the Shawlands area of Glasgow, Scotland.

Pollokshaws East railway station is a railway station in Glasgow, Scotland, serving parts of the Pollokshaws, Auldhouse, Newlands and Shawlands neighbourhoods of the city. The station is managed by ScotRail and is located on the Cathcart Circle Line.

Pollok Football Club is a Scottish football club based in Newlands in the southside of the city of Glasgow. The club competes in the West of Scotland Football League and are one of the biggest football clubs operating in Scottish non-league football, regularly attracting crowds of around 700. Pollok play at Newlandsfield Park and wear black and white stripes. Their traditional rivals are Arthurlie of Barrhead.

Newlandsfield Park is a football ground in Newlands, Glasgow, Scotland. It is the home ground of West of Scotland Football League side Pollok F.C.

Crossmyloof railway station is a railway station serving the area of Crossmyloof in Glasgow, Scotland, located 1 mile 60 chains (2.8 km) from Glasgow Central. The station is managed by ScotRail and is served by trains on the Glasgow South Western Line. The overline station building was removed during the late 1990s. The overbridge (Titwood Road) was rebuilt during 2006. On 6 October 2012, a Highland cow escaped the nearby Pollok Country Park and walked the rail line to this station, where it was captured and returned.

Shawlands railway station is a railway station serving Shawlands, a suburb of Glasgow, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is located on the Cathcart Circle Line. It opened in April 1894, when the original line to Cathcart via Queens Park was extended in a loop back towards Glasgow Central. The Cathcart Circle Line has been electrified since 1962 under British Railways.

Crossmyloof (, Scottish Gaelic: Crois Mo Liubha, Scots: Crossmaluif) is an area on the south side of Glasgow situated between the districts of Pollokshields, Strathbungo and Shawlands in Scotland.

Titwood is a cricket ground in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is the home of the Clydesdale Cricket Club and is one of four international grounds in Scotland approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as a home venue for the Scotland national cricket team. Titwood was approved by the ICC in May 2007 for the hosting of One-Day International (ODI) matches. It became the fourth Scottish ground to be granted ODI status, as it was seen as a hub of cricket in Scotland, along with the Grange, Aberdeenshire's Mannofield and Ayr's New Cambusdoon.The first of these, an 'offshore international' between India and Pakistan in July 2007 was a victim of the wet weather. The second game was played in August the same year, was between Scotland and India. In January 2014, Titwood hosted Scotland’s last three Clydesdale Bank 40 home group games.

Langside is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It is situated south of the River Clyde, and lies east of Shawlands, south of Queens Park, west of Cathcart and north of Newlands. The district is residential and primarily middle-class, and has become an increasingly fashionable address in recent years. Housing stock is mainly of the Victorian tenement type, along with some townhouses of the same period.

Pollokshaws (Scots: Powkshaws) is an area on the South side of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is bordered by the residential neighbourhoods of Auldhouse to the east, Eastwood and Hillpark to the south and Shawlands to the north, with the Glasgow South Western Line railway and the open lands of Pollok Country Park to the west. The White Cart Water flows through the area.The housing stock consists of some sandstone tenement housing, modern brick tenement-style buildings, low-rise social housing and high rise/multi-storey tower blocks. Previously eight tower blocks stood in an area known as the Shawbridge Corridor; the last of these blocks was demolished in March 2016. Four other tower blocks remain, near Pollokshaws East railway station. According to the 2001 Census, Pollokshaws had a population of 4,295. Its residents are a mixture of working class and middle class social groups, and the area also had a large South Asian community.

Maxwell Park railway station is a railway station in Pollokshields area of Glasgow, Scotland, adjacent to the park of the same name. The station is managed by ScotRail and is located on the Cathcart Circle Line, which has been electrified since 1962 by British Railways.
