Charleswood Curling Club is located in the southwestern area of Winnipeg, in the community of Charleswood. The club was founded in 1946 as a three sheet rink, although expansion to five sheets was completed in 1956. It was the home club of the Jeff Stoughton team.

Varsity View is one of the original neighbourhoods of the Charleswood community in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and also a part of the Assiniboine South neighbourhood cluster. Charleswood is a residential community and neighbourhood in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is located in the South-West of the city and is bordered by the neighbourhoods Tuxedo to the East, Fort Whyte to the South, and the Rural Municipality of Headingley on the West. It's boundaries are Roblin and the Assiniboine River to the north, Shaftesbury Boulevard on the East, Wilkes Avenue to the South and the Perimeter Highway to the West. The region was originally known for "the Passage," a ford across the Assiniboine River and was an important route for indigenous and Metis traders and settlers. In the 1869, the area was ceded by the Hudson's Bay Company to Canada and became a site for European settlement. Charleswood was incorporated as a Rural Municipality in 1913 and remained an independent municipality until it joined with the City of Winnipeg in 1972. Since the 1930s, Charleswood has been known as "The Suburb Beautiful."Charleswood is part of the city ward of Charleswood - Tuxedo - Westwood; and is part of the provincial electoral district of Roblin (replacing the former electoral district of Charleswood). It is also served by the Pembina Trails School Division.

Kirkfield Park is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created by redistribution in 1979, and has formally existed since the provincial election of 1981. The riding is located in the westernmost tip of the City of Winnipeg. It contains the neighbourhoods of Glendale, Westwood, Kirkfield Park, Woodhaven, Birchwood, Booth, Silver Heights and part of Assiniboia Downs Kirkfield Park is bordered to the east by St. James, to the south and west by Charleswood, and to the north by Assiniboia. The St Charles and Glendale Country Clubs are in this riding, as are the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Assumption Cemetery. The riding's population in 1996 was 20,236. In 1999, the average family income was $63,038, and the unemployment rate was 5.80%. Almost 13% of the riding's population are immigrants, including 6% German and 5% Ukrainian. Over twenty per cent of the riding's residents are over 65 years of age. The service sector accounts for 15% of Kirkfield Park's industry, followed by 13% in retail trade. Since its creation in 1981, the seat has been nearly continuously held by the Progressive Conservatives. Previously it was won by the New Democratic Party only twice, in 2007 and 2011, until 2023 when the NDP's Logan Oxenham picked the seat up a third time after having originally been defeated in the previous year's by-election.

Grace Hospital is a regional hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The 250-bed hospital is located in the Crestview neighbourhood of St. James-Assiniboia.The hospital was founded on Ross Avenue in 1890 by the Salvation Army, as a rescue home for women and children. It was incorporated in 1904 as The Salvation Army Grace General Hospital, and was the first Salvation Army hospital to be incorporated in Canada. The hospital was not truly a general hospital until 1927, when it was expanded from a maternity hospital.The hospital was located on Ross Avenue until 1906 when a new building was erected at Preston Avenue and Arlington Street. The Arlington street location would be expanded and upgraded many times. The Arlington Street location was eventually replaced by a building in the St James area, for which construction began in 1964. The St James location officially opened in 1967. The old Arlington Street building was demolished in about 2015 and the Old Grace Housing Cooperative was built where it had been. The hospital was run by the Salvation Army until 2008, when ownership was transferred to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. Deanna Durbin, a Hollywood actress of the 1930s and 1940s, was born at Grace Hospital on 4 December 1921 as Edna Mae Durbin. She moved from Winnipeg to California, USA in 1923.

Assiniboine Valley Railway (AVR) was a private 1:8th (1.6" to the foot) scale ridable miniature railway located in the community of Charleswood near Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The track gauge is 7+1⁄2 in (190.5 mm). Construction started in 1995 and operation began in the fall of 1996. A train station was eventually built along the track, and opened on time for a convention in May, 2000. The railway is owned and operated by the 23-member Assiniboine Valley Railway Club, Inc., with some of the equipment privately owned by members. The railway club president and owner of the land was Bill Taylor until his death in 2013. Presidency then transferred to vice president and co-founder Len La Rue. The network of tracks and "Charleswood Station" was located on Taylor's private 7-acre (2.8 ha) family property.AVR was open to the public for riding during the second weekend of the month between June and October. As of April 2012 the railway had nine operating locomotives, including three steam locomotives and 53 cars, with eight more cars under construction. In the span of 26 years, the club laid more than 6,000 feet (1,800 m) of track.During the COVID-19 pandemic, the club had to close to the public as a result of provincial public health orders. In April 2021, the family of AVR's late founder requested that the railway club vacate the property within six months.

Roblin Park is one of the original neighbourhoods of the Charleswood community in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is bounded by Roblin Boulevard to the North, Hartestone Road to the East, bisects the Harte Trail to the south and Scotswood Drive to the West. It is served by the Roblin Park Community Centre.Roblin Park is part of the Assiniboine South Neighbourhood Cluster. It is part of the Winnipeg electoral ward of Charleswood - Tuxedo - Westwood, the provincial electoral district of Roblin and the federal riding of Charleswood—St. James—Assiniboia—Headingley.

Collège Sturgeon Heights Collegiate is a dual-track and was recognized by the International Baccalaureate before it was phased out by AP, secondary school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is part of the St. James-Assiniboia School Division. In addition to AP, the school offers a French Immersion program, technical and vocational programs, and multiple fine arts programs.

The Historical Museum of St. James – Assiniboia is a museum in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The museum primarily consists of a two-story post-and-plank house built in 1856 and once owned by William Brown and Charlotte Omand. The home is furnished with pieces from the period between 1860 and 1890. The museum also features two other buildings: the Municipal Hall Building built in 1911 which contains exhibits from the St. James-Assiniboia area and surrounding parishes and an auxiliary building which features exhibits concerning blacksmithing, farming, and transportation.
