Agecroft Hall

Virginia House is a manor house on a hillside overlooking the James River in the Windsor Farms neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia, United States. The house was constructed from the materials of the 16th-century Priory House, Warwick in Warwickshire, England, and shipped over and reassembled, completed several months before the stock market crash of 1929. Virginia House is in the Tudor architectural style but incorporates a range of designs from other English houses and has modern facilities such as ten baths and central heating. Virginia House was built by Alexander and Virginia Weddell, salvaging many materials from the Priory and other old English manor houses and adding further elegant English and Spanish antiques, oriental carpets, silks, and silver. Today Virginia House is operated by the Virginia Historical Society as a house museum, although it largely remains as it was in the 1940s during the Weddells’ tenancy. Immediately to the west of the property is Agecroft Hall.

Williams Island Dam is located on the James River in the independent city of Richmond, Virginia. Just below the dam, seven miles (11 km) of rapids mark the descent of the river downstream through the geological Fall Line region to the navigable tidal portion below Richmond, which extends southeast to Hampton Roads. Williams Island Dam was built in 1905 as part of a drinking water project of the City of Richmond which made use of a portion of the former James River and Kanawha Canal along the north shore of the river west of Richmond. A gravity dam, its height is 7 feet (2.1 m). Its normal storage capacity is estimated to be 50 acre-feet (62,000 m3). It was connected with an early waterworks building which is located on Pumphouse Drive just west of the city's Boulevard Bridge. Williams Island Dam is wholly located within the city's James River Park System. Williams Island, which separates the two sections of the dam, is a 95-acre (380,000 m2) wildlife preserve and has the nest of a bald eagle. According to the James River Park website, Richmond is the only capital city in the lower 48 states to have an eagle nesting inside the corporate limits.

Windsor Farms is a 20th-century neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia, of primarily Colonial Revival design. Designed in 1926, Windsor Farms is one of Richmond's first planned neighborhoods. It was designed to look like an English village, with curvy streets and English names like Dover, Canterbury, Berkshire, and so on. There are a variety of architectural styles, the most common being Colonial Revival and Cape Cod. Lots are anywhere from half an acre to 23 acres (93,000 m2). Windsor Farms has a couple of historical buildings, including Virginia House and Agecroft Hall. Windsor Farms borders Cary Street Road to the north, the Downtown Expressway to the east, the James River and several areas to the south, and the neighborhoods of Lockgreen and Westmoreland Place to the west. Historic houses in the neighborhood include Virginia House and Agecroft Hall, both moved from England in the 20th century. Another is "The Oaks" which was built by Benjamin Harrison IV in 1745 and moved from nearby Amelia County, Virginia in 1927. Several high-end, architecturally significant houses were designed by Virginia-born Duncan Lee and William Lawrence Bottomley of New York.

Graymont is a historic mansion in Richmond, Virginia, US. The house, located near the Carytown District, was the childhood home of the socialite Tinsley Mortimer.

The Rice House in Richmond, Virginia is a residence designed by modernist architect Richard Neutra and built in the mid-1960s on Lock Island in the James River. Since 1999 the house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house is notable as being one of the only house in Richmond built in the International Style. Characteristic of many of Neutra's houses, the architecture features strong horizontal elements detailed in what appear to be concrete, but are actually faced wood and steel beams. The 6,000 square foot house is made of marble from Georgia and is stretched out along a granite ridge running parallel to the river. Perched 110-feet above the James River, the living room of the Rice House offers a view overlooking Williams Dam. Fenestration is provided by expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors. Other details of the house follow the International Style: exterior railings, balconies and layered, flat roofs.

Fairway Acres is an unincorporated community in the City of Richmond in the U.S. state of Virginia.

Pony Pasture Rapids (also commonly referred as Pony Pasture) is a section of the James River Park System that runs alongside the City of Richmond, VA. Nestled on the south bank of the James River downstream from the Huguenot Bridge, Pony Pasture is known for its local attractions of hiking, swimming, kayaking, and fishing. It has become a place for the residents of Richmond to experience the outdoors without having to leave town. With the help of park volunteers and funding from recycling projects, access to the rapids was made possible. The rapids, a class II, have become an introductory-level course for many rafters and kayakers in the area. Aside from the rapids, Pony Pasture Park hosts a lot of off-water activity. In addition to the park, there is Williams Island, an uninhabited 100-acre stretch of land that is nestled in the middle of the James River. Pony Pasture also has the largest parking lot in the James River Park System.

Reveille, also known as the Brick House, is a historic home located in Richmond, Virginia. The house consists of three sections. The main 2+1⁄2-story house dates to about 1806; the 1+1⁄2-story west wing dates to 1839; and a rear kitchen wing was added to the west wing in 1920. The house is an example of an early 19th-century Federal style country residence. In 1950 the property and house were acquired by the Reveille United Methodist Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Powhite Parkway Bridge crosses the James River in the independent city of Richmond, Virginia. It carries the Powhite Parkway, also known as Virginia State Route 76. The bridge is owned and maintained by the Richmond Metropolitan Authority, and was funded with revenue bonds which are repaid from user tolls. There is no bridge toll to cross the Powhite Parkway Bridge, however the toll plazas located south of the bridge prohibit drivers from crossing the bridge without paying a Powhite Parkway toll.

Wilton House Museum is a museum in a historic house located in Richmond, Virginia. Wilton was constructed c. 1753 by William Randolph III, son of William Randolph II, of Turkey Island. Wilton was originally the manor house on a 2,000-acre (8.1 km2) tobacco plantation known as "World's End" located on the north bank of the James River several miles east of the city of Richmond. Between 1747 and 1759, William III acquired more than a dozen contiguous tracts of land. About 1753, Randolph completed building a Georgian manor house, which he named "Wilton," on a site overlooking the river. In 1934, with commercial development encroaching on the opposite bank of the James and the property in danger of foreclosure, The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Virginia saved the mansion from destruction by purchasing, dismantling, moving, and rebuilding it on a site overlooking the James River a few miles west of its original location. Ironically the farm just east of the Pocahontas Parkway, where Wilton once stood remains devoted to agriculture in the 21st century. Open to the public since 1952, Wilton hosts a collection of 18th- and 19th-century furnishings, textiles, glass, ceramics, and silver that reflect the wealthy planter life of the mid-18th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
