Little Maquoketa River

Sinnipee (also called Sinipee) is a former settlement in Grant County, Wisconsin, United States. Sinnipee was a port community on the Mississippi River at the mouth of the Sinnipee Creek; it played a significant role in the lead trade. The community was first settled prior to 1832 by Payton Vaughan of North Carolina and was founded by the Sinnipee Company in 1835. A hotel called the Old Stone House opened in the community in 1839; both US president Zachary Taylor and Confederate president Jefferson Davis stayed at the hotel during its operation. The community suffered a flood and an outbreak of fever in 1840, which hurt the town's businesses; all but two families left Sinnipee, and by 1859, only one building remained in the town's business district. After a fire, the hotel was dismantled to build a dam on the Mississippi River. The community was located in the town of Jamestown. In 1934, the site of the community was flooded due to the construction of Lock and Dam No. 11 on the Mississippi.

Four Mounds Estate Historic District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Dubuque, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. At the time of its nomination the district consisted of 19 resources, including 11 contributing buildings, two contributing sites, four non-contributing structures, and two non-contributing buildings. The estate is named for the four conical burial mounds that are located on the property. They are one of the historic sites, and they are individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Couler Valley is a valley near Dubuque, Iowa, and has the Bee Branch Creek, previously known as the Couler Creek, located in it. It is about 5 miles (8.0 km) long. It is found in the Driftless Area.

KXGE (102.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic rock format serving the Dubuque, Iowa, United States, community. The station is owned by Townsquare Media and licensed to Townsquare License, LLC. The station at one time broadcast a country music format as KXKX ("Kix 102"). The station also broadcasts every home and away game for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League (USHL). On August 30, 2013, a deal was announced in which Cumulus Media would swap its stations in Dubuque (including KXGE) and Poughkeepsie, New York, to Townsquare Media in exchange for Peak Broadcasting's stations in Fresno, California. The deal was part of Cumulus' acquisition of Dial Global; Townsquare, Peak, and Dial Global were all controlled by Oaktree Capital Management. The sale to Townsquare was completed on November 14, 2013. As of March 2022, Dwyer & Michaels is the syndicated morning show on the station, with local personality Tom Drake hosting the weekday afternoon show.

Heritage Trail is a 26-mile (42 km) long, multiuse rail trail connecting Dubuque and Dyersville, Iowa.It is maintained by the Dubuque County Conservation Board, and was converted from a segment of the former Chicago Great Western railroad line between Chicago and Oelwein, Iowa. It is surfaced with compacted, crushed limestone.

The Little Maquoketa River Mounds State Preserve is an Iowa state owned archaeological site and natural area located within the city of Sageville, just north of Dubuque, on U.S. Highway 52. It is high up on a limestone ridge above the Little Maquoketa River, not too far from the river's mouth with the Upper Mississippi River. Covering about 42 acres (170,000 m2), it contains a fenced-in 3-acre (12,000 m2) burial area with 32 mounds. The graves have been related to the Late Woodland culture, about AD 700-1200. Significant consultation went on with Native American tribes regarding the establishment of the preserve. The land was purchased by the Iowa Department of Transportation in 1977, and in 1981, it became a state archaeological and geological preserve. By agreement with the state, the Dubuque County Conservation Board maintains and administers the area. The remainder of the preserve functions as a park with a hiking trail, featuring mature forest and a segment of native blufftop prairie. As a part of the Driftless Area of Iowa, it has some geologically interesting areas, particularly the high limestone bluffs. There is a parking lot. Access is year-round.

The Platte River is a tributary of the Mississippi River in southwestern Wisconsin in the United States. Its watershed lies almost entirely within Grant County, with only a small portion in neighboring Iowa County, and its main tributary is the Little Platte River. It is about 47 mi (76 km) long. The name Platte is derived from the French meaning "flat" or "shallow".

Sageville is a city in Dubuque County, Iowa, United States. The population was 95 at the time of the 2020 census, down from 203 in 2000.

Eagle Point Park is a 164-acre (0.66 km2) public park located in the northeast corner of the city of Dubuque, Iowa, United States. Eagle Point is mostly situated on a bluff that overlooks the Mississippi River and the Lock and Dam No. 11. The park is owned and operated by the city of Dubuque. It was listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. At the time of its nomination it contained 34 resources, which included 14 contributing buildings, seven contributing sites, five structures, five objects, two non-contributing buildings, and two non-contributing structures.

Xavier Hospital was a hospital located in Dubuque, Iowa. It was located in the northern part of the city at the intersection of Windsor Avenue and Davis Street. With Finley Hospital and Mercy Hospital Xavier Hospital was one of three hospital facilities in the city of Dubuque.

General Zebulon Pike Lock and Dam No. 11 is a lock and dam located between Dubuque, Iowa, and rural Grant County, Wisconsin, on the Upper Mississippi River. It was opened to navigation 14 September 1937.
