Playoff Bowl

The Miami Orange Bowl was an outdoor athletic stadium in Miami, Florida, from 1937 until 2008. The stadium was located in the Little Havana neighborhood west of Downtown Miami. The Miami Orange Bowl was considered a landmark and served as the home stadium for the Miami Hurricanes college football team from 1937 through 2007 and for the Miami Dolphins for the Dolphins' first 21 seasons until Joe Robbie Stadium, now Hard Rock Stadium, opened in nearby Miami Gardens in 1987. The stadium also was the temporary home for the FIU Golden Panthers for one year, in 2007, while its on-campus venue, now known as Riccardo Silva Stadium, underwent expansion Originally known as Burdine Stadium when opened in 1937, the stadium was renamed in 1949 for the Orange Bowl college football bowl game, which was played at the venue following every season from 1938 to 1996. The event was moved to Pro Player Stadium (now Hard Rock Stadium) beginning on December 31, 1996. In January 1999, it returned to the Orange Bowl a final time due to a scheduling conflict. The Minor League Baseball Miami Marlins team occasionally played games in the Orange Bowl from 1956 to 1960. The stadium was located on a large city block bound by Northwest 3rd Street to its south, Northwest 16th Avenue to its west, Northwest 6th Street to its north, and Northwest 14th Avenue to its east, which was an open end of the stadium. The Orange Bowl was demolished in 2008. LoanDepot Park, the home ballpark of the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball, was subsequently constructed on the grounds of the Miami Orange Bowl. LoanDepot Park's construction began in July 2009, and the new stadium opened March 5, 2012.

Pool 2 of the Second Round of the 2013 World Baseball Classic was held at Marlins Park, Miami, Florida, United States from March 12 to 16, 2013. Pool 2 was a modified double-elimination tournament. The losers of the first two preliminary games (Games 1 and 2) matched up in a third preliminary game (Game 3), which was also an elimination game, while the winners of Games 1 and 2 faced each other in the first of two qualifier games (Game 4). The winner of the elimination game then played the loser of the non-elimination game in the second qualifier game (Game 5), which was another elimination game. The remaining two teams then played each other (in Game 6), to determine seeding for the semifinals of the championship round.

LoanDepot Park (officially stylized as loanDepot park, and named Marlins Park until 2021) is a retractable roof stadium located in Miami, Florida. It is the ballpark of Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins. It is located on 17 acres (6.9 ha) on the site of the former Miami Orange Bowl in Little Havana about 2 miles (3 km) west of Downtown Miami. Construction was completed in March 2012 for the 2012 season. LoanDepot Park was LEED certified as the greenest MLB park in 2012. The building is the sixth MLB stadium to have a retractable roof. With a seating capacity of 37,442, it is the third-smallest stadium in Major League Baseball by official capacity, and the smallest by actual capacity. The facility hosted a second-round pool of the 2013 World Baseball Classic, a first-round pool of the 2017 World Baseball Classic, the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, and the championship game of the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The park also hosts soccer matches, fundraising galas, and other events during the winter. It also hosted the Miami Beach Bowl from 2014 through 2016. The stadium is designed in a neomodern form of baseball architecture.

Sports Leadership and Management Charter School (SLAM) is a public charter school for intermediate and secondary grade levels in Little Havana, Miami, Florida. There are two other SLAM campuses: By 2015 the Henderson, Nevada campus opened, and in 2016 the West Palm Beach, Florida campus opened.The rapper Pitbull founded SLAM, which opened in 2013. He chose to focus the school on vocational studies to attract students who were uninterested in academic subjects. He formed a partnership between the school and the Miami Marlins.

It is characterized by its street life, restaurants, music and other cultural activities, small business enterprises, political passion, and great warmth among its residents.In 2015, Little Havana was included in the National Trust for Historic Preservation's annual list of 11 Most Endangered Places. In 2017, the Trust declared it a national treasure.

E. G. Sewell Park is a 10.33-acre (4.18 ha) riverfront park located close to the 17th Street Bridge over the Miami River, in Miami, Florida, United States. The site marks the tropical garden area of property purchased in 1897 by General Samuel Crocker Lawrence. Lawrence created a lushly landscaped garden of royal palms with a guest house and a boat slip, and grew grapefruit on much of the remainder of his land. The royal palms remain, as do the boat slip, the steps, columns, and foundation of the guest house, and a water pump Lawrence used to irrigate the tropical plants and the grapefruit groves nearby. The park is named for former Miami mayor E. G. Sewell.

Young Women's Preparatory Academy (YWPA) is a grade 6-12 magnet school for girls, located in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States. It is a part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). YWPA was the first public school established in South Florida that was only for girls.The school was established in 2006, with a focus on mathematics, science, and technology. It had about 400 students as of 2012, and as of 2014 had about the same number.As of 2015 Concepción I. Martinez is the principal.

Spring Garden is a neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States. The section of the city is one of the oldest purpose-built single-family residential neighborhoods in Miami and in the Greater Miami area. It is bound by the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) to the north, the Seybold Canal (formerly Wagner Creek and Northwest Eighth Street Road to the east, by the Miami River to the southwest, and West 12th Avenue (SR 933) to the west.

The Miami Nice Jazz Festival is a jazz festival in Miami, Florida. It is a continuation of the festival which started in 1948 in Nice, France, which took place in the Opéra de Nice. This venue was one of the early theaters to broadcast over the radio. The Nice Jazz festival received its popularity from musicians such as Louis Armstrong.The festival was next held 23 years later in 1971 with Ella Fitzgerald, Helen Humes, Pharoah Sanders, T-Bone Walker, Stéphane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt, Herbie Hancock, Oscar Peterson, Roy Eldridge, John Lewis, Al Grey, Percy Heath, Connie Key, Dizzy Gillespie, NHØP, Daniel Humair, Sonny Stitt, Cannonball Adderley, the Modern Jazz Quartet, Charlie Mingus, Max Roach, and Miles Davis. Since 1971, it has been an annual event. Since 2011, the festival has been run by Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice.
