Claremont High School (Tasmania)

Claremont College is a government comprehensive senior secondary school located in Claremont in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1990, the college caters for approximately 500 students in Years 11, 12 and optional Year 13 and is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education. The college provides a full range of courses, preparing students for university, TAFE, traineeships and employment with courses delivered both on- and off-campus. The college overlooks the Derwent River, and is located approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the Hobart central business district. The college facilities include a drama auditorium, sport and recreation centre, library, various computer laboratories, canteen, and many sporting fields.

The suburb is split in two (northeast/southwest) by the Brooker Highway; it is, therefore, not uncommon to hear the terms East Berriedale and West Berriedale, with the former half following the edge of the Derwent River and the latter extending into the rural Derwent Valley Region.

The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) is an art museum located within the Moorilla winery on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. It is the largest privately funded museum in the Southern Hemisphere. MONA houses ancient, modern and contemporary art from the David Walsh collection. Noted for its central themes of sex and death, the museum has been described by Walsh as a "subversive adult Disneyland".MONA was officially opened on 21 January 2011. Along with its frequently updated indoor collection, Mona also hosts the annual Mona Foma and Dark Mofo music and arts festivals which showcase large-scale public art and live performances.

Chigwell is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north-west of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 2002 for the state suburb of Chigwell.It is a suburb in the 'northern suburbs' area of Hobart. The suburb is situated between the suburbs of Berriedale, Claremont and Glenlusk. The suburb shares its border with Berriedale along the Brooker Highway and the streets north of Berriedale Rd. Until the late 1990s, the suburb boundary was closer to the main road. The suburb shares with adjacent suburbs a range of older houses and properties.The area was originally made up of public housing, however much of the public housing stock has now been sold to private owners. The suburb is considered as a middle class socio-economic area, typical of many of the suburbs within Glenorchy City Council. Chigwell primary school had its name changed to the Mt Faulkner primary school.It is the location of the Metro Claremont home ground.

Montrose Bay High School is a government co-educational comprehensive secondary school with campuses located in Rosetta and Goodwood, northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 2010, the school caters for approximately 700 students from Years 7 to 10. The school is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education.In 2019 student enrolments were 625. The school principal is Pieta Langham-McKay. Montrose Bay High was formed in 2010 through a merger of Rosetta High School and Claremont High School.

Abbotsfield is a road within the suburb of Claremont in the northern suburbs of Hobart, capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is in the local government area of Glenorchy. The area is situated slightly to the west of Austins Ferry. The road is split in two (north/south) by the Brooker Highway, and is most obvious when travelling along Abbotsfield Road.

St Virgil's College is an independent Catholic primary and secondary day school for boys, located over two campuses in Austins Ferry and Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The locality is about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north-west of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 2731 for the state suburb of Rosetta. It is a suburb of Hobart. The suburb is situated between the suburbs of Berriedale and Montrose and is approximately 15 minutes drive from Hobart. There is a primary school and a high school in Rosetta. The Brooker Highway runs along the eastern border of the suburb, next to the Derwent River.

The locality is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south of the town of Brighton. The 2016 census recorded a population of 3779 for the state suburb of Old Beach.It is approximately 7 km from the Baskerville Raceway. Old Beach is surrounded by an abundance of green mountainous terrain. At the heart of Old Beach is an old mining quarry, active in the late 1980s for the mining of sandstone, and providing and economic boost for the area.

The 2016 census recorded a population of 2152 for the state suburb of Montrose. It is a suburb of Hobart. The suburb is situated in close proximity with Rosetta. Montrose is the suburb directly north of Glenorchy. It is also in Montrose where the Montrose Foreshore Community Park is located.
